Rhythm was still getting accustomed to being back on Auradon’s soil when he’d heard the news. A break in at the museum, maybe Auradon wasn’t as boring as he remembered it being. “So, what’s your theory?” He asked the person standing next to him as he waited for his coffee. “Who did it? What did they do it for?”

     Waiting to the side of the counter for his coffee, adrian was checking his phone every other second expecting a text from his father any minute now. he’d announced the text in an earlier text exactly 29 minutes ago. only 1 minute left. hearing someone talk to him had him lift up his head in confusion, “hm? oh! uh… i don’t actually have a theorie. it could’ve been anyone to rile us all up. whose to say it’s not one of our parents, against the proclamation?”

      “     did you know they actually store magical objects in a museum around here?     ”     she tries not to sound like much of a tourist, but the tone of absolute surprise in her voice probably isn’t helping that much. she can’t help herself, it’s not something she’s used to — granted, she never really had powers to begin with, but magic was all around her growing up in arendelle, from her aunt’s ice powers to the snow companions that had helped raise her.     “      that doesn’t make that much sense at all — why lock up magic, of all things?     ”

     Hearing her question, adrian is about to speak up and give her an answer, one that would hopefully explain in it such a way that she wouldn’t feel bad about herself for not knowing. before he can give her one such answer she spoke up again, the confusion laced in her voice alerting adrian to the fact she’s not actually amazed at the objects. it’s a bewilderment on why they’re all in one building. that has him puzzled. he figured everyone knew about the history of use of magic and the cost that came with it. “lots of people around here have had bad run ins with magic, they’re afraid of it. that’s why there’s no magic on the isle either. not that i agree with it. but they did have their reasons.” he sat down on a bench, folding his hands in his lap as he mulled it over in his head. “magic can be used for magnificent things, it can also be used for the most horrible reasons. there should’ve been a different solution though.”

Audrey was glad to be thinking about something else other than the museum break in. It was all she had been hearing and talking about it since it happened. If anything, it only put her on edge the more she thought about it or it was mentioned around her. As if it wasn’t enough for her to already be a state of nerves with the new proclamation– which she still hadn’t quite adjusted to. After checking everywhere in the living room, she nipped on over to the next area which was the kitchen. Quietly pulling a staff member aside, she asked them for a hint and she was pointed in the direction of an area she could only hope her brother was hiding in. “Boo!” She cried out, jumping in front of the space.

     His plan was to continuously be one step ahead of her, it’d be impossible for her to find him if he kept moving around the palace. in all the years they played this game since inventing it, it had often brought him the win however it also often caused him to lose. as audrey and he were almost always on the same wavelength and she knew how adrian thought, his sister knew many of his hiding places. and therefore at times beat him to the spot he was heading to hide. this time she wouldn’t get him though, he wouldn’t let it happen. watching from the pantry as one of the servants pointed in his direction, his eyes narrowed at the betrayal- they were supposed to have his back, he couldn’t trust anyone in this palace game it seemed. the older sibling had no time to waste, as audrey was nearing in on him. quietly fleeing the pantry through the door on the other side, he ran down the servant’s hallway using the door to the hidden passageway at the end to escape back to the library.

“   what do you think they want? what were they looking for?   ”   the break in was strange to say the least. they had moved a lot of things, but not the guards weren’t sure if anything was stolen. 

     Eyes focusing concernedly on cora, adrian reached out to wrap an arm around her shoulders, hoping to bring some comfort. “i wish i could tell you. the things they took.. like some of them aren’t that special y’know. but the spellbook- that could cause trouble.” adrian hadn’t been that involved in the search for whoever took the items, truth be told he hadn’t cared that much despite his father breathing down his neck to be more involved, but the longer the items were missing the more adrian began to feel unease about it all.

For their own curiosity’s sake. The library is of course not the most appropriate location for SEA SHANTIES , and Luke isn’t normally fond of singing ( they haven’t inherited their mother’s siren-like vocal chords , but their voice isn’t bad ) , but it’s a way to break the silence. Now , when the Rose prince walks in , they stop.❝ … Oh. Adrian. ❞ They tilt their head , almost curiously.❝ Hey - y’know this song ?? ❞ A grin , expecting him not to , but ever so they continue , ❝ What will we do with a drunken sailor ?? What will we do with a drunken sailor ?? What will we do with a drunken sailor - ear-ly in the mooornin’. ❞    

     Stepping into the library adrian hadn’t expected to hear singing, least of all songs of the sea. his mother once told him what sailors called those, but he’d long forgotten, having focused on things that were more important to him. the sea was not. curiously poking his head around the corner to try and pinpoint who it was that was causing a disturbance in the old building, a small grin tugged up the corners of his mouth as he came upon luke. “hey luke,” he greeted them, taking a few steps closer as they began singing again. the prince did recognise the song as another one of those things his mother had taught him when he was a young boy, it just took a while for him to remember the words. when he did he glanced around quickly to see the library was pretty much deserted so adrian fell in with her, softly singing along, “shave his belly with a rusty razor, shave his belly with a rusty razor, shave his belly with a rusty razor. eeear-ly in the morning!”

“Adriaaan…” The girl sang out as she waltzed through the hallways of their home. They had decided to play the hide and seek with a twist game they came up with when they were kids. Of course, it was a lot easier to hide when they were younger, hence, smaller. Entering one of the living rooms, she scanned the large area. Audrey was determined to win, she was one point ahead and was not about to become her brother’s slave for a whole week. Knowing him, he already had a list of ridiculous tasks for her.

     If he said so himself, it was one of his better ideas to get audrey’s mind off of the recent events. his sister was prone to worry too much, and he’d already noticed the early symptoms when he’d stepped into their home that afternoon. giving her the prospect of looking forward to having adrian as a slave for the week was a good way to help her relax, not that he was about to let her win of course. nothing in the world sucked more than having to do all her tiny errants, she’d likely even drag him along to go shopping every single day. and that was just not happening. biting down on his lip as she padded passed him into the living room closest to him, he snuck out from behind the large wardrobe in the lobby and slipped away towards the kitchen.
