On the other end of the scale, I spent one summer doing operetta summer stock at an outdoor theatre on a working historical farm. There were peacocks, but they didn't bother anyone, because they were in a pen far from the stage.

The reason they were in a pen and far from the stage was because years ago, when they roamed free all summer, they would come sit in the bushes and trees during performances, and spend the whole time yelling at the opera singers. The opera singers Did Not Like This. It was not considered to be conducive to performances. Thus, the pens.
