Close_To_Stars_But_Not_Enough
Carson Hummel returns to Lima when he finds out about the problems his twin brother is having in his own school. Watching for its top, he understands that he won’t let anyone (especially, Noah Puckerman and Quinn Fabray) threatens Kurt. At the same time he realizes Santana’s having the similar point. Their emotions and feelings need to be expressed in every way possible. Life seems so much easier for Carson when there is a Writer’s club, the perspective of a soon graduation and his twin. Especially, his twin...

Close_To_Stars_But_Not_Enough
A threat tried to disappear. A threat tried to hide itself and to conceal its face. It was raising its hands in an effort to protect its face or to save random pieces of it. But the fact was that it couldn't be hidden from the light. It couldn't be saved from it.
Carson was that light.

Your words almost killed me. I can’t but say that Carson is the only one who always struggles but there is still a spark inside him that can change the world. The fact is that he is being afraid to see it after everything happened. He thinks it’s much more easier to seem blind after all but not numb. He thinks humanity is not something that people appreciate in other people in this corner of world where all this shit had to start. Can we say that Kurt is someone who destroys the last piece of goodness in Carson Phillips? Or is it Carson whose love (immoral for society but still strong) destroys Kurt? “I love you,” after the actual act of love that frightens both of them but mostly Kurt who is so obsessed with the image of everything as his pleasure, or game, or something entertaining? He’s selfish and blind. After all still needs his brother in every way possible but not in the one that can be a help. Do they need this help? They are a thunderstorm for each other. As we know thunderstorm never ends well. Is ‘never’ right for them?..
I did an analysis on Carson and on Kurt, I’ve been wanting to do this for awhile, so here it is:
Carson when we first meet him presents himself as a talented and ambitious kid who has been through a lot. Who still goes through a lot, but acts like it’s no big deal. He has a hard time empathizing with other people unless they’re his grandma or Kurt.
But in the very beginning, Carson is more human because he’s still very close to his brother, he’s the only person he can relate to because Kurt has always been there for him while his parents treated him like shit. He loves his grandma too, of course, but she can’t help him anymore due to her not remembering him. Still, he is faithful to visiting her though, because when someone shows love for him, as a kid who grew up barely having that, he will truly care about them.
Carson loves Kurt and Kurt loves Carson. But Kurt didn’t know how to deal with their relationship, growing up he watched the chaos that their parents’ relationship was. He also got to be so spoiled it led to some selfish mentality. So even though he loved Carson, he didn’t understand emotions. He didn’t want to. It scared him. So his solution was to mess things up, act like he didn’t care, without thinking about the effect that this would have on Carson. Which is something he now regrets deeply, but still don’t know how to deal with the consequences.
When Kurt hooked up with Sebastian it obviously fucked up Carson and it was when all started falling apart for both of them, but especially for Carson. Being raised the way he was, and having the only person he trusted betray that trust made something inside of him that was never alright to begin with almost break for good.
Then the whole baby thing happens and it’s when the sad reality of losing his brother, that was never really his to begin with, combined then with the baby he lost, wakes up the beast in Carson, the beast that has always been there but was kept mostly hidden until then. He feels things so intensely it scares him so he detaches himself. He starts doing destructive and messed up things until he literally forgets who he is. He will keep doing it so much that he will lose all the humanity that once existed in him, and it will be hard to get that back.
Kurt sees how Carson loves to tease guys, Carson loves to do that on his face. But what Kurt doesn’t get to see is how Carson actually usually hates having sex with those guys, how he detaches himself from it. He also uses drugs and parties a lot, because it is the only way for him to feel close to anything you could call happiness. As he fell in love it changed him, it turned him into something his younger self would not have recognized. In truth, he may appear confident but he became weaker, because he was not ready for the heartbreak when he already had have so many before.
Carson is someone who desperately needs help. But Kurt is still too worried about his own problems to realize that. He cares more about how this affects him, but now mostly it’s because he just fails to realize his brother’s problems, since now Carson doesn’t look insecure anymore, he now looks confident. The kid who will do everything in his power to be independent and leave his town, and who also, knows just how to press people’s buttons.

my English is too pure to describe every each thing that I felt while reading this amazing piece of art. thank you so much, your words almost killed me
“that ending” - so right
My thoughts on Unbreakable Bonds
-First off, let me just say that it takes quite a bit for a fanfiction to affect me enough to make me laugh, cry, and want to throw shit. This one did. It is so beautifully written.
-It is looooong. It took me all day yesterday to read it.
- Normally, incest really isn’t my thing, but I was rooting for them here and heres why: From the outside, twins are viewed as 1 in the same, so if you were to fall in love with your twin, people would think “Well, you might as well just fall in love with your reflection, but that’s the thing. When they look at their twin, they aren’t seeing a mirror image of themselves. They’re seeing a different unique individual with their own flaws and quirks. A twin is not just half of a pair. They are each their own person.
- That’s the thing that made this so amazing. They were both so different and unique from each other’s perspective that I tended to forget they were identical until the narrative reminded me.
- Their love was pure. It was love. But it wasn’t perfect. It was flawed. This wasn’t just 2 brothers who decided to fuck each other. It was just 2 deeply flawed young boys who were unable to control their deep passion for each other.
- The SBL narrative and Glee narrative were pretty flawless mashed together. I was actually really afraid that they were gonna follow the exact narrative, including Carson’s ending until I remembered that there were like 30 chapters left.
- I’ve always loved Carson and how he never took anyone’s bullshit. He really isn’t your typical male hero at all because he’s kind of antagonistic. I’ve always been drawn to anti-heroes, or glorious bastards because they usually end up being the most tragic. I know a lot of people considered him and Kurt to be similar since they were both underdogs, and rather snarky, but this story really highlights how very different they are. They are almost foils to each other, and it’s very complimentary.
- Carson’s WTF attitude towards the Glee Club and how things are handled was one of my favorite parts.
- That ending.
- Also, can I just point out how awesome Burt is? His role in the whole thing isn’t very big, but it is prominent
- The Kurt/Carson/Sebastian/Santana friendship is both really awesome and really frightening. They could destroy the world.
