has greed for the star racer spot but knows he'll never land it because there hasn't been a decoy racer that gets the job done as fast as him (no doubt, aggressively)

he's convinced he steals the show with his stunts anyway

not the best team player but people tolerate him because he gets the job done well

his father is running for president and wouldn't let anyone get his way—especially not his own son (who has been at the root of some gossip lately)

jaejoon drinks, smokes and gambles, all of which his father wouldn't give two hoots about if he wasn't putting on a show for the rest of south korea (one that involved him being a philanthropic man with a picture perfect family)

his family claims he's gone overseas, so no one knows that he's really just locked up in a multi-million dollar mansion on 24/7 surveillance

currently lives with his father and stepmother; his mother had passed away when he was thirteen

his father then invested all his time in his career and remarried shortly after, with a woman half his age, whom jaejoon doesn't get along with

he was never given the opportunity to process and heal from his mother's passing, as well as the sudden changes in his life

throughout his teenage years, his relationship with his father deteriorated and he turned to those vices whenever they fought

graduated with a degree in political science and is meant to start working with his dad but a fight between them led him to rebel

he has a lot of rage, anger and violence in him, both from the many years of unresolved childhood trauma and being locked up with no way of escaping

unfortunately, his rage and violent tendencies translates into the way he manoeuvres the various verses (in other words, he would be taking on a more antagonistic role in most verses)

if not for synk (which he spends all his time on now that he's a prisoner in his own home), he might've already lost his mind

WANTED CONNECTIONS

his girlfriend that has been trying to reach him, to no avail (his father confiscated his phone and removed his access to social media etc), and remembers him raving about a "cool new game" which she has resorted to trying out to find him (or maybe he gifted her the game before so she knows that's where he could be) — maybe either of them manage to recognise each other in a verse OR they end up falling in love with someone else/watching the other fall in love with someone else

a male "friend" whom he is secretly attracted to; they often "flirt" as a joke or play things off with humour but there's a tension neither of them can ignore — maybe they finally start to explore those feelings in another verse, under the excuse of it being "just a game"

an online friend who lives a completely different life from him in the real world (possibly from a lower social class, hardworking, comes from a humble but happy family etc) whom he would never cross paths with if not for the game; someone who is there for him during this time, even if they know nothing about each other in reality
