hoje perdemos uma lenda brasileira e outras milhares pessoas para o vírus que já existe vacina.

só peço pra que se cuidem e sigam todas as medidas de proteção. no ritmo que estamos muito dificilmente as coisas irão melhorar e a doença não escolhe quem, hoje você pode estar bem mas amanhã não.

The whole Brazil has accompanied you in every moment, even if from a distance. We had a lot of hope in this "see you later" but unfortunately you didn't come back. Our country is going through such a difficult time and losing you was like 'reaching the bottom of the well'. Brazilians are moved by laughter, when we are sad, we make jokes. When we are scared, we make memes. When we are going through difficult times we look for something that makes us laugh. Losing you who was one of our greatest sources of laughter and happiness broke us. For the first time you made us cry, Paulo, and I didn't want it to be that way. You struggled a lot, it was two months of struggle, but we know that covid-19 is not an easy disease, so rest, we will miss you a lot! One day we'll see you again, Paulo❤

Today the Brazilian LGBT community mourns the death of iconic actor and comedian Paulo Gustavo at only age 42.

Paulo Gustavo was not only an icon to the LGBT community, but one of the most popular comedians in the whole country! He had a way of being loved even by cishets, despite being known mainly for his drag performances!

Brazil is the world's leading country in hate crimes against LGBT people. More LGBT people get murdered in Brazil per year than any other country in the world, so we hold our gay icons very close to our hearts. Being queer in Latin America is not easy. And Paulo, an openly queer comedian, really brought us so much joy whilst making it look like the easiest thing in the world.

This is truly a massive loss for the Brazilian LGBT community.

Paulo Gustavo leaves behind his husband and his two children.

If you can, please leave your condolences to a Brazilian person if you know any, particularly those of us who are LGBT. This loss feels really heavy.
