Lol people getting so butt-hurt over the Derby post XD
Christ, I remember when Tumblr was fun...when it was a great site to meet friends (and I have met several here!) and share your interests without fear of judgement (well, almost. There has always been nasty trolls) Now, you have to minutely inspect every word of every post to make sure you don't 'offend' anyone (but it's pretty pointless because someone will find some way to be offended by anything, especially people on Tumblr) and even if you have no idea that what you said could be considered offensive, you get called all manner of foul names and told to kill yourself (real supportive for people claiming to be 'making the world a better place') Once the SJW got ahold of this place, it was all over...so long, fun and light-hearted Tumblr. It was a good ride while it lasted Over and out, kids. Try not to let this place go even further to shit than it already has
#fuck this site#fuck these people#fuck all of you SJW#I might be back but probably not#These fine folks just make me sick

Let’s take a minute to talk about this race, shall we?
War Admiral’s performance in the 1937 Belmont Stakes is almost certainly the high point of his amazing career. Beyond just securing his place in history as America’s fourth Triple Crown winner, the race cemented his status as one of our greatest champions. First, consider that the normally troublesome Admiral held up the start of the race for over seven minutes, actually dragging his assistant starter through the gate several times. Perhaps because he could sense the tension of those around him, War Admiral refused to calm down even in the gate. As a result, he stumbled badly on the break, nearly going down before the race even started. And as the result of that, he grabbed a quarter, tearing out a chunk of his right forefoot
Now, here we have a horse that had wasted considerable energy being restless in the gate and from numerous false starts. Add to that, his stumble had put him firmly behind the pack, a place Admiral hated to be. Finally, he now had a freely bleeding, extremely painful injury on one of his legs. He had three legitimate reasons to quit entirely and limp off the field. Instead, War Admiral ran the race of his life
As soon as he had his legs under him, it was over. He raced up to, and passed, the leaders in a matter of a few strides. And he just…kept going. Every stride sent blood gushing from his leg, staining his underbelly and the track, but Admiral never showed any sign of being in pain. The little brown son of Man o’ War eventually rolled under the finish line three lengths in front of his nearest rival, in a time that not only bested his father’s stakes record, but also equaled the American record for the distance. Running on “three legs and a heart”, the newest Triple Crown winner had never even been challenged, and had accomplished the rare feat of wiring the Belmont
“That, under such circumstances, he should run the record-making race he did was a testimony of a gameness difficult to extol too highly.”

It’s that time of year again!
Unfortunately I will be out most of the day and I didn’t have the chance to queue up some stuff last night, so for now this is what I’m doing XD
Anyways, once again, Happy Birthday to the greatest American racehorse in history, De Mostest Hoss, Big Red, Mannie Wah…whatever you call him, it’s wonderful Man o’ War’s birthday!

I saw a really cool question asked to someone else so I'm gunna ask you. What's your favourite race horse name like the one you think is the most majestic/most memorable name?
Ya know, I could go really in-depth with this, make a super long list and debate the pros and cons of various names…but, I’m going with the first name that immediately jumped into my head
MAN O’ WAR
Yeah, it’s gotta be that one. It’s damn majestic, memorable, rolls off the tongue wonderfully, and lends itself to a lot of great baby names (War Admiral, Crusader, American Flag, Blockade, War Relic, Battleship, Bateau, War Glory, War Beauty, Matey, Maid at Arms, Florence Nightingale, etc.)
It’s just perfect

It’s another filly, and another white for Japanese mare Yukichan!
The little filly is seen here with her best friend, the 2015 daughter of champion mare Buena Vista. Both fillies were sired by leading Japanese stallion King Kamehameha

Yes, you're right, there are other horses in the Dubai World Cup, and I'm quite content with that. My bet's on Mubtaahij. Chrome is not all he's cracked up to be. May the best horse win :)
Wooooo…I was honestly expecting some backlash over those CC remarks. Nice to hear from someone keeping a level head about it :D

Do you know if Beyer has expounded more on Count Fleet's potential 150+ speed rated races?
Not to my knowledge, no
Beyer (who is not always a very dependable source) has made references to some of Count Fleet’s races being 150+ “by some calculations”. I cannot, however, find anything where he goes into more detail about which calculations, the exact numbers, or even which races he was referring to. The problem with assigning Beyers to historical races is the lack of exact details (no electric timers, winning margins waffle about, and the exact track condition is not usually known). Beyer himself has called it “an exercise in futility”.
For those curious, a 150+ Beyer Speed Figure is basically unheard of. The highest speed figure ever given out officially was 132, to the fantastic sprinter Groovy in 1987. Beyer has estimated that Secretariat’s Belmont would have earned a 139, so a 150 is pretty damn good
Just like the Count ;)

Your bet on California Chrome's Dubai World Cup?
Wait, you mean…THE Dubai World Cup?
The one with other horses running in it and not exclusively belonging to one entry? The one with a field of eight others that have received absolutely no media attention for some reason?
Is that the one you mean?
Shit, I’d take a bet on African Story
#He ain't won it yet folks#It don't belong to him#Neither did the Triple Crown#whoooooops that's probably offensive or some shit#But I'm so sick and tired of hearing about nothing but this nag for the past month#Go African Story!
