Did you make Zestial italian instead of British because Lute's soul has famously not gotten along with the Brits?
You know, for the life of me I cannot remember why I decided to make Zestial Italian... perhaps it is my general contempt for the British (I'm joking, I am indifferent at best).
maybe just that the name doesn't feel very British. Strictly speaking, Zestial is 100% a made up name but IDK something about Italian Zestial just felt right. might have just been an influence from the references I pulled on while redesigning him

i know they probably like beam knowledge of important stuff into them at the moment of creation but remembering that Jeanne d'Arc was illiterate gave me the very cute image of an exorcist reading circle/learning group for those whose soul donors couldn't read
I mean, is 'reading' critical to the experience of being a soldier? its entirely possible that Lute wasn't immediately blessed with that information and Adam, a man who predates the written word, could have entirely forgotten to include it lol.
Exorcist reading circle might just be more likely than you think. kinda cute to imagine an embarrassed and frustrated Lute working very hard to read a children's book

(pretend theyre actually dead souls for this joke)
Charlie: I don't get how you can be so cynical, I mean you've been on Earth you've seen how much amazing things human can do! Think about the sort of wonderful experiences did you have with living people up there!
Lute: Burned to death by the inquisition for wearing pants.
Vaggie: Forced labour and tortured to death.
Charlie: ...okay bad examples, yeesh.
the girls had what you might call... a rough time.

Now that youre writing chapter 2 of SII, do you have any idea if it will be as long as PEW or longer, shorter?
unfortunately with me there is no good way of knowing.
I want to do a somewhat big unique story arc covering both the girls getting to know each other, growing closer... and also the constantly rising backplot of Nazis in Hell doing Nazi things until the girls inevitably get involved and have to stop it. the story might proceed from that into an alternate season 1 and so on depending on how I feel... or I might write something else.
given the situation of SII, I'm confident I can write the girls getting together quite a bit faster as this Lute isn't so deranged and fucked up over Adam's death that she needs multiple crash outs and breakdowns to get to a potential relationship (not that she's going to switch sides that easily, I'm thinking of one scene in particular where she's going to be... on the edge.) so I think that 'arc 1' of SII might be... half the length of PEW? hopefully less.
I guess what happens next depends on how popular it is and my feelings on the show/Lute after season 2

With Helluva Boss getting a sort of remake of its pilot, do you think the same could be done for Hazbin?
A bit late for that. The first few episodes already basically redid scenes from the pilot, such as explaining Alastor's backstory.

What's the weirdest Hellaverse theory you've heard? To me, it's the time I heard someone suggest that Loona would be redeemed and go to Heaven (even though she's not eligible)
Idk man, my eyes tend to glide off most theories once they say anything that contradicts easily available Canon info. Like cannibals being hellborn or that the mere existence of Exorcists was a secret.
Listen, Viv and Co need to write out like a 10 minute short of just some voice acting and power point slides, explaining basic info about the hellaverse. Things like the basic geography and notable locations of each ring, the types of hellborn and angels, a concrete social ranks, how travel between rings works. Etc.
People would eat it up. Artists, writers, and theorists would fall to their knees weeping.

i'm sure lute, famously a person with restraint and tolerance, will give good constructive feedback on charlie's plan
(also girl they're literally the guys responsible for genocide, why did you think they would react well to your stop genocide plan)
Lute would be stabbing Charlie if she was legally and/or physically able. She doesn't take the woman's ideas particularly well.
And well... Charlie is the ultimate optimist. She did think this same pitch would work in the show, also talking to the people in charge of Extermination about her stop the Extermination plan. Charlie is still pretty naive, SII version maybe less naive than the Canon version at the beginning of the story but not by much.

Do you allow works to be inspired by PEW?
I've written 500K+ of a fic based off Lilith wiping Lute's memory, and Plot happening from there. It's a different pairing from PEW, but that's where it started.
(technically, it was from A new kind of Hell, but details)
Seemed appropriate to ask.
I don't own ideas and I'm always happy to see my ideas have inspired others. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I am pleased as punch with people building off elements of my work or referencing it directly (hell, I've tried to pitch my story ideas to be adopted by others lol)
Go forth with my blessings, be free my child

non-PEW related, but have you seen don_quixote_de_la_mancha 's new work? Exorcist centric fic with Charlie's Exorcists in tags.
Me personally I'm hyped
WHAT!?
There is a new Charlie's Exorcists fic written by my boy Don Quixote and it's taken me four goddamn days to know about it? It is an insult to the deranged reputation I've been trying to build that I wasn't notified immediately.
Kudos, bookmarked, subscribed even before I read it. I'm going to chew through this like a starving rat through a steel pipe.

Here's another question: A lot of people are hoping that Michael Kovach will return to play Angel Dust's brother Arackniss. What's your opinion on this?
So, to elaborate on how I don't care about Celebrity cameos... I don't know who Michael Kovach is. Might have heard of him? Idk.
As long as the voice sounds good, the details are immaterial

In honor of the reveal of Patrick Stump playing Abel, what your opinion on the speculation that Lady Gaga could be playing Lilith?
Honestly? I'd prefer she didn't. Nothing against her voice acting or anything but this falls into the same category as getting Kesha to play Beelzebub or Norman Reedus to play Striker. It's cool for sure, but in practice getting such high cost, high rank celebrities to play characters pretty much means that character is forced to appear only on extremely rare occasions where the studio can manage the Herculean task of both scheduling and paying an A Rank celebrity.
All that comes out of a celebrity voice cameo is a few minutes of animation where people who like the celebrity go 'wow cool', followed by years of not seeing that character again OR fans bitching about the character getting a new voice they don't like as much... Usually both.
I personally can't give a salted shit about celebrities and a lady gaga cameo means nothing to me. I'd prefer studios stuck to professional voice actors who need the work and are typically much easier to schedule for return appearances.

Congratulations on 50k hits, what an amazing fanfic youve written, also what a coincidence that is the 1 year anniversary of PEW!
Thank you for writing this, and excited for future chapters and other projects.
Tumblr media
Golly Gee Willickers kids, we fucking did it.
Also, holy shit, yes, PEW was published exactly one year ago today. I mean, technically, A New Kind of Hell was written before that and made up the first quarter of the story BUT a year of PEW is a year of PEW.
It is such a strange thing to celebrate lol, its not like I make money or anything tangible out of this but it is nice to know that my obsessive writing for a niche ship is mildly popular with a niche audience. How far we've come.
Well, onto business:
I am a man of my word, 50k hits means another chapter of Superbia, Invidia, Ira... I wish I could have had the chapter ready to go for this event but unfortunately, the new job and schedule has been kicking my ass and I'm struggling to readjust my writing habits.
That being said, I AM WORKING I SWEAR.
chapter 2 of SII is in the works, I have it pulled up as we speak and I am in for about 3k words so far
chapter 33 of PEW is fully planned but the document is sitting at just about 1k right now. might poke at it occasionally but will mostly be focused on SII for the time being
warning that the next few chapters of PEW are this arcs finale so when I actually get to writing things will be happening very, very fast.
I have some art in the works, some art already done. Would love to show it off or give sneak peaks, but spoilers.
Still, I'm going to try to be a busy bee and make some progress on things. sorry for all the delays. Thank you guys so much for being here, I would genuinely not have had the energy to get this far without you all.

So if You’ve heard of or Seen Kpop Demon Hunters, which song would you believe Charlie, Vaggie, and Lute would listen to and individually their personal favorite?
Love Kpop Demon hunters lol
I can see the girls watching it, Vaggie loves animated movies and has probably listened to some kpop, Charlie is a little iffy on Demon Hunting but she likes musicals, Lute likes doing things that make Charlie and Vaggie happy (also enjoys vicarious demon killing violence). They all enjoyed it for different reasons, Charlie cried A LOT towards the end.
Vaggie definitely wants there to be a female cover of 'My Idol's... For reasons. Reasons you can probably guess.
Charlie really wanted to like 'Golden' but upon reflection found it to be narratively dishonest. She definitely bursts out with 'What It Sounds Like' because of the emotional weight and it being a great finale about self acceptance... Also occasionally finds herself mumbling along to 'Soda Pop'. Infernally catchy.
Kpop really isn't Lute's brand of music, but the aggressive lyrics and style of 'Takedown' really spoke to her... Also because she may or may not have found herself relating very heavily to Rumi in that moment (feeling a constant need to project perfection, being made to dedicate your life to protecting others practically from birth, having to censor and repress part of herself to meet impossible standards, feeling the weight of your life's work falling apart, total loss of control during said eventually, etc)

So question what does you're god look like in pew,is it you're own design or is it that god fanart with four eyes and no face only a smile because is my opinion that is one of the best god designs i have ever seen, and if you have already said it both here and in pew sorry i have a bad memory
Well, God has not made an official appearance in PEW and there have only been a handful of minor events that may or may not be implied to be Their handiwork.
the common fanon design for God is fine but it doesn't really fit my conceptualization of God. Really nothing really could. God as a concept is too vast. I have only described God once in the third PEW snippet I posted here (of questionable canonicity) but in that brief block of text, I depicted God as a reflection of the universe, like a roughly human shaped hole in reality through which you can see the vastness of creation, stars and supernovas and universes. speaking in a voice loud as thunder and quiet as a whisper. a voice that knows no kindness nor anger, not even when bringing miracles or catastrophe.
God simply is. God is not mortal. God does not need shape or form, or emotion or personality. That is a mere fraction of God, just enough so that the Will may be understood. God is a good and good is god.
