My Thoughts on Star Wars Rise of Skywalker *SPOILER WARNING*
- This was a huge part of my childhood and is now a big part of my adulthood
- It was great seeing my favourite movie villain Palpatine again, even though they never really explained how he survived after Return of the Jedi; whether you liked or hated him coming back, one thing we can all agree on, nobody saw that coming when the first trailer was released!
- I had a feeling Rey had some kind of connection to Palpatine but didn’t expect that, also what poor woman did he manipulate into banging him?
- I knew Leia would die but it stung even more so because of Carrie Fisher dying a few years ago
- Also Chewie’s reaction hurt more than the death itself, he only has Lando left now
- I was kinda hoping to see a big gathering of force ghosts like Anakin, Obi-Wan, Yoda, Luke, Leia, Han, and Ben at the end to bring the saga full circle
- When Rey started to pull that ship back down it reminded me of that part of Force Unleashed where you have to do the same thing as Galen!
- The kid in me was screeching when Luke pulled his old X Wing out of the water like Yoda on Dagobah!
- It’s probably a good thing we didn’t get that force ghost reunion cause either adult me would’ve screeched out loud or cried lol
- How did they repair Anakin’s old saber? Didn't Rey and Ben split it in half in The Last Jedi?
- It’s interesting how they incorporated the cloning angle with Palpatine along with the idea of him transferring his consciousness like in the expanded universe
- Some woman behind me whispered to her friend she thought Rey herself was a way finder, which would’ve been an interesting twist
- Being a fan of horror movies, I love how they sort of made Palpatine a horror villain with his zombie look and that whole satanic ritual toward the end, along with the creepy cultists chanting
- Palpatine really is the ultimate villain. He was controlling literally everything in some way from the shadows, always had a backup plan and was a master manipulator. It was rare he couldn’t get someone to do his bidding. He’s almost like Star Wars’ version of Satan: always working the strings from the shadows and always comes back. Nothing could ever redeem him, I mean that laugh alone makes him a great big bad!
- Overall, I loved it. For the most part it was a great finale and it feels strange to really have the Skywalker saga wrapped up. My late sister who got me into Star Wars quite young would’ve also enjoyed it, and I know she would’ve adored Rey. Her favourite characters were Padmé, Obi-Wan and Leia. She sadly passed in 2011. Alice, thanks for getting me into one of the best franchises of all time, I’ll always love Star Wars, and as long as I’m around, I’ll always represent you when either watching a new show or going to a new movie in the franchise! May the Force be with you, and with the rest of y’all!

Goodbye Orange is the New Black *Spoilers*
First a side note, I haven't been on for a while, adulting has a nasty habit of getting in the way of everything lol
Anyway, I finished the 7th season last night and what a wild ride over the last 7 years!
Overall, I really enjoyed this season, got to see some familiar faces and have some loose ends tied up. I was happy to see Gloria and Blanca finally get their freedom, as well as Taystee making good use of her life sentence, even if she didn't deserve such a raw deal.
Speaking of raw deals, I was heartbroken when due to the fuckery and cowardice of others, poor Doggett was so discouraged by her seemingly poor exam performance that she ended up fatally o'ding. I wasn't her biggest fan but speaking as someone with a learning disability and who also needed extra time on exams, what happened really hit me at home. It also made me despise Daya for scaring off that first GED teacher, and Luschek for not doing his goddamn job and filing the request for extra time. If it weren't for them, Doggett wouldn't have been pushed to the brink of destruction, especially since she actually got the GED hours after she died! That broke my heart. Thankfully those two got what they deserved. I also wish Red could've gotten a better ending. She didn't deserve to be reduced from a tough badass to early onset dementia. I also felt bad for that poor Karla woman, as well as Maritza. It just goes to show how bad the immigration crisis is in America right now.
I also wish we'd seen more of Boo this season, she was my favourite character! Anyway, I'll miss the ladies of Litchfield but at least the show got a good finale, unlike some shows we can name *cough*dexter*cough**hack*HIMYM*hack*
Check it out when you can y'all and prepare for a feels trip!

I am never watching the Oscars again
That was a travesty of epic proportions. What the fuck will it take for that godforsaken academy to finally recognize Glenn Close?! 45 years, 7 nominations and now 7 losses. At this rate she’ll be lucky if she gets an honourary Oscar. It’s clear the academy hates Glenn Close and Bradley Cooper. They just lost 3 viewers: myself and my parents. I’m glad Green Book won but until Bradley and Glenn get what’s been owed them for a lifetime, fuck the academy.

My Review of Boy Erased
*trying not to cry*
First let me just say this: How in the absolute fuck are these hellhole conversion camps still legal today?! It’s disgusting what these poor people have to go through just because their parents don’t like who they are.
Boy Erased was one of the most heartbreaking movies I’ve ever seen. I knew it would be rough but Jesus fucking Christ. I’ve never hated a movie character as much as the ones played by Russell Crowe and Joel Edgerton. That’s how good the acting was. Nicole Kidman was amazing too as a woman who was viciously torn between her moral beliefs and her love for her son. Thankfully she eventually chose the latter, even if she let the former drive for most of the movie. The guy who played Cameron did a great job playing a gay football player who endures cruel humiliation just because he can’t tell that phoney preacher what he wants to hear. I’m glad Garrard Conley is living a decent life, in spite of what he went through. Stories like this too rarely have a happy ending. Seeing Boy Erased also made me hate Mike Pence even more as he believes in these evil places and firmly opposes same-sex marriage. I do recommend this movie, just be warned: it will break your heart and piss you off.
Lucas Hedges deserves the Oscar for Best Actor, this was the performance of a lifetime and if this is an indication of his skills, I think he has a great career ahead!

Despite what many may think, I loved this movie! I felt like I was at a Queen concert during the musical sequences and Rami Malek kicked serious ass as Freddie Mercury. Idk if he’ll get an Oscar but he deserves a Golden Globe at least. That last concert scene at Wembley Stadium for Bob Geldof’s AIDS benefit gave me serious goosebumps. Even if it glossed over some stuff, it was more about the band itself than just Freddie. I also didn’t even recognize Mike Myers as the asshole record producer! Well done!

Y’all be tripping, that series was garbage. Vampires are NOT. SUPPOSED. TO. SPARKLE. Also, I’ll never forgive that bloody series for spawning an even worse one: 50 Shades of Grey (Shit).
