Who else tries to hide the fact that they are sick? To basically not draw attention to themselves? 😣 my manager was like wait you felt sick yesterday? I’m like yeah and she was like I didn’t even notice and I was like “well mama didn’t raise no bitch” 😎🤧

A sickie with sinuses so full they literally can't hear anymore-
A sickie on the verge of a fever, feeling hazy and out of it-
A sickie whose nose can't decide between getting plugged up or running like a faucet-
A sickie who blows their nose and feeds the growing pile of tissue next to their bed-
A sickie completely exhausted by their snotty, messy cold ✨

Thinking about a quote I read yesterday that hasn’t left me alone.
“…the salt water is my best medicine. One year, when I had a terrible cold that threatened to ruin my whole winter, I went to Jamaica, soaked up the sun and salt water, and was cured in two days.”
OKAY HOT AF

a summer cold that comes on slowly over the course of the day. they wake up with a scratchy throat and raspy voice, but they probably just need to clean the AC filters. by lunchtime they're starting to sneeze which is weird, they didn't think the pollen count was supposed to be so high today. towards the end of the day they're feeling hot and sluggish, but it's 90 degrees and humid as hell so how else expecting to feel?
it's not until they get home and their partner hits them with something like "Oh honey, you don't look so good. Are you you feeling ok?" that they realize just how sick they are 🫠

CW: contagion
A and B carpool to work every day, and it's quite the long drive. A has a tendency to catch the sneeziest, snottiest colds, they never cover their plentiful, wet sneezes, and they never take sick days. B is a germaphobe who suffers the worst hell every time A catches a cold, watching the spray from A's sneezes floating in the air inside the car, and settling on every surface... B knows only too well that they're bound to catch this cold, just like they do every damn time, no matter how much they try to avoid it. A's cold is everywhere. There's no escaping it.

two sick people rubbing their red, sensitive noses together in an affectionate gesture, but it's torturously slow, and they both can't handle much stimulus before they have to sneeze. No touching, no blowing, no wiping away mess. Just two cold-filled noses forced to rub, back and forth, until they can't hold back any longer.

Katie shook her head as if the action could clear away the idea that had slowly taken over her fantasies. She had recently discovered the world of sneeze kinks on tumblr and she couldn’t stop thinking about catching a terrible, drippy head cold. Her mouth grew dry even thinking about it. The virus would settle in her nose and throat, giving her the warning tickle and ache. Her body would convulse with endless sneezes and her sinuses would be so plugged with congestion she would forget what it was like to breathe easily through her nose, oh, her poor nose. She could almost picture it. The telltale red glow and chapped nostrils from rubbing her nose with endless tissues. Or, endless until she needed them most and ran out in public, forcing her to reveal her miserable, dripping cold to the world. Her cheeks flushed as she imagined her messy sneezes reducing her to a snotty mess in front of other people. They wouldn’t even need the other signs to know what a sick girl she was, and if her nose alone didn’t tell them, they would realize from her pale face and the dark eye circles from nights spent coughing and sneezing herself hoarse instead of sleeping. They would cringe away upon seeing her open mouth and the way she cocked her head back at the telltale angle of someone desperate to breathe around a wall of congestion. Yes, Katie thought, tracing her fingers up her inner thigh, she very much wanted to catch a cold.

Going feral over voices that sound so nasal and congested.. their m’s and n’s sounding like b’s and d’s… and when they sniffle its just a tight squeak but their nose is so sensitive from their cold or allergies that it still makes them sneeze 😩

I love a person at the height of a bad cold, but I also love the early stages of a cold, when the person isn’t quite sure if they’re getting sick. They know they feel off and uncomfortable, but they don’t think too much of it yet
The little rippling chills that have them putting on layers and getting shivery, even in a sweater
The dry throat and the odd swollen feeling between their nose and throat that makes swallowing thick and uncomfortable, so they drink more water, thinking maybe they’re just dehydrated
Feeling exhausted and vaguely feverish (with or without an actual fever) and thinking they’ve just had a stressful week and a good night’s sleep will fix them
Thinking their aches are from sitting too long, so they move around and it doesn’t help
Getting a hot drink that doesn’t do much to warm them up but makes them sniffly
The stray coughs and sneezes that happen a little more often throughout the day or two before it really hits
The uncertainty and the way they’re just trying to get through the day or whatever obligation they have because they think that if they just get a break, it’ll be alright. When they finally do get a minute, the cold hits full force

Soft, cozy caregiver things
● You sense your loved one is coming down with something, so you head to the store. You spend extra time choosing the most fresh and primo ingredients to use to make them a hearty, homemade soup.
● Carefully selecting what you feel is the best tea to brew for your sickie to best help alleviate their symptoms and boost their immunity.
● Scrutinizing the selection of cold medicines to try and find the very best one to add to their sickie care basket.
● Buying way too many boxes of lotion-infused tissues for your poor sickie's miserably raw nose (which you're going to plant so many kisses upon as a blessing to help make their sneezies go away).
● Getting hugged from behind by your blanket-wrapped sickie (who's supposed to be in bed) as you hover above your Crock Pot, lovingly stirring the soup you're making them.
● Your sickie snuggling into you because they feel extra needy and are yearning to be gently pet as they're having trouble sleeping.
● Gathering your sickie into your embrace to read, watch TV, or game with them--whatever would make them feel most happy and comfortable.
● Tenderly feeling your sickie's forehead for a fever and gently urging them to open up to accept the thermometer so you'll know if they need a fever reducer or not.
● Rubbing your sickie's back and shoulder blades as they lean against you after a coughing or sneezing fit, totally exhausted.
● Attentively readying a tissue or handkerchief when you see your poor sickie is ramping up for a sneeze.
● Encouraging your sickie to blow their nose as there's no need to be shy about it. "You're sick. It's ok. I'll look away if you want. You'll feel better if you do it, though. I promise" you say as you offer them a box of tissues or a handkerchief.

Your favourite scoundrel of a character with the most disgraceful cold, thick sniffles and stuffed up moans and guhhs, long sopping wet blows, a gross cough. Keeps complaining how bad their cold is, how they're drowning in sdot and are aching all over and how their ears are all stuffy too and it just won't go away.
Then they sneeze, twice. A hoarse kind of a sneeze, one can hear the phlegm in rheir throat, with a hissing, wildly spraying tail, the second one followed by a few coughs and another guhh.
"Congrats, sndrfff, you have it dnow too."
And the worst part? The bastard is right.

thinking about a character who knows they're getting sick. it's night-time and they're making something hot for themselves for dinner. their throat hurts and their sinuses feel tender, like that feeling before your nose fully stuffs up, but at least they have something warm to eat. idk how to explain it but it's such a cosy feeling/vibe

A character with ice/snow/cold based powers somehow getting so overheated that they start to exhibit signs of melting even if their physical form isnt ice based: they get super drippy and flushed and shivery and yes of course with this comes the sneezes
And then another character in the group, upon realizing this, goes "oh, instead of a cold, you catch a hot!"
