Escape Rationale
Escape is a  fire prevention emergency app that will educate and engage children on how to crawl through a smoke-filled house. We aim to achieve this goal through a series of simulations that incorporate augmented reality as well as overlying house fire audio. As a group, we wanted to make an app that taught and executed one particular fire safety tool successfully and concisely. We decided to target our idea towards the demographic of children ages five and up as we found that children remember information better when they are physically and visually interacting with what they are learning. By making our app a more visual and interactive learning experience, we hope to create an immersive and interactive tool that will encourage children to learn and be prepared for potential house fires. As a group, we struggled with reaching a balance between child-friendly and motivating as well as being an app that demonstrated the seriousness of a house fire. After an overhaul of the design and cutting a lot of ideas, we came to a simplistic design that we feel executes our aim whilst not being so mature that a child becomes disinterested. Our design consists of four basic colours and repetition of circles to strip back any potential distractions to focus on the core features within the app. By combining the simulation of the smoke with the user's environment we aim to evoke an emotional response that will make the experience more personal, memorable, whilst also locking in key information conveying to the child and parent how important fire safety preparedness is.

Anoushka- Updated versions:
We added a tutorial bit that explains how to use our app, as well as we also just did some refining in some of the designs.
We are now refining a quick little snippet of what the video/simulation could look like.

This is the new updated version of our app. We are still fixing and adding elements to the design. After the feedback from last week, the app is working better in both functional and aesthetic look as its more simple and use a simple in the colour scheme. We decided that the emotional element will be focused on the simulation as the user is in a familiar environment that is emulating a dangerous situation. The user will be able to put it into perspective since there is a dangerous emergency of a fire in their OWN home where usually its seen as a safe place.

Friday Week 11
feedback from Klaus:
There are too many colours going on, it feels very kiddish and like you are stereotyping the child with the sketchy softness of everything. As a parent i don't feel like this app is for me so i would directly hand it off to a child without bothering to see what it was about or how to set it up. The mascot is unnecessary and brings a weird tone to the otherwise serious situation of the smoke and fire. Thinking now that you don't need a mascot or a “reward” at the end of the simulation, rather just focus on the emergency.

1. Get rid of the play, pause and stop button in creating the room part.
2. Make an ok/ done button instead
3. Need to change the level page
Next steps:
1.  Add a colour code for the levels.
2. Finishes making the aesthetic layout
