To Commissions or not to Commissions? That is the question

Currently struggling with something folks. I’m considering opening up commissions, but I’m not sure if my art is really worth much. I suppose I’d provide a full-body drawing of a character for like…5 to 7 dollars…?

Mostly considering opening up for commissions because I’m poor as hell and need money to pay off my financial debt. Having barely any money gives me crippling anxiety and makes it harder for me to create. I’d get a regular job but my mental disabilities make it very very hard to survive one, and I want to make a living off of my work anyways.

Me and @valarioncy have a Kofi, but no one has been biting. I figure if commissions are offered people might be willing to offer a bit of coin. Valarioncy is offering commissions (humans, anthros, animals, etc) through the Kofi right now, so why not I do that?

IDK, what does anyone think? Is my art commissionable? I might also be willing to ghost write for like a dollar or two. I don’t know still trying to determine if I have literally anything worthwhile to offer in exchange for money. Me and ValarionCy both need money really really bad.

And for those who stumble upon this post and don’t know me, here’s a small collection what I’ve drawn down below (most of these have not been seen by the public until now, actually. I keep this blog dedicated to The Hollow normally.)

Hey Hollowers! Still alive! If anybody’s wondering why I’ve been silent for a while:

1. Life is a constant struggle when money is nearly nonexistent.

2. I may or may not have spent a significant amount of my time writing a few chapters of the original fiction version of that one Magical Girl The Hollow Fanfiction (Magical The Hollow!) I had back in the day. I may or may not also provide more information and maybe even the first three chapters here on tumblr if asked by enough people…might still show it regardless honestly. It depends on my mood.

But I am thinking of getting back into RTF, and I still got that Reekai story to surf through and edit. I really wanna get back into the swing of things, somehow.

I see Reekai and I come flocking. Thank you for this meal. Yes losers be gaaaaaay! Uoguhh the drama that could occur with this one! The misunderstandings! Yessss! This is about as tasty as that one Reekai rebound AU where Reeve and Kai both get screwed over by Adam's deplorable communication style and decisions (Kai more recently) and they scream the lyrics of Laura by Billy Joel and kiss and then slowly develop a healthy relationship from there. Then eventually afterwards Adam becomes more self-aware of himself and Reeve and Kai give him another chance and he joins the cule TM.

Yeah as someone who has been in the hollow fandom before 2020 and who has avidly checked both the hollow’s instagram and twitter at the time AND has watched the only interview done regarding the show, Vee is not a character that exists and Mira is not confirmed to have a relationship with any character. There are no canon relationships in The Hollow. Take the fandom wiki with a grain of salt. Mira having a girlfriend would be nice though! 🏳️‍🌈

Anyways I was about to write a whole three to six paragraphs on how Heterophobia is a thing that doesn’t really exist and the term is often a conservative dogwhistle but then I realized OP probably knew that and was joking when using that term and making a statement on how conservatives believe any show with queer representation is suddenly “heterophobic”.

So uuuuhhh yeah. I am definitely neurodivergent/austistic. Seeing the word still very quickly put me on edge though. Dang. Us queer people don’t feel safe in this day and age anymore…

Like, the second they got greenlit for season 2 the writers were like.

"What? Adam, Straight?? Noooooo, That can't be!" "Mira?? Straight? plausible- but- nooOoooo-"

They were just delirious amnesiacs. Y'know, "spur of the moment" type shit.

They had Adam relive his gay awakening and it went right over our heads until S2 dropped.

Queer erasure?? Nah here we only eradicate the hetero's. They killed off Kanessa in S1 and sorta relit it in S2, (but the damage was done) and then just completely got rid of Adira.

It is so incredibly funny to me.

IT GETS BETTER WHEN THE WRITERS ACTUALLY CONFIRMED THAT MIRA HAS A GF (who was apparantly a bc character)

The writers went and said. "Canon?? Nah, we better than that."

S1: *Mira kissing Adam in the woods*

2018 me: *shocked cause' i did NOT see that coming, and also, don't really see it*

2020 me: *pats head* dw they're actually just besties, they just don't remeber it yet.

But i do think they kinda saw it coming with the show getting cancelled, by literally just adding that one line and a pride flag. So I'm glad they gave the show a mostly-satisfying end.

Hi so anyways remember when I announced I was getting married to an adult bootleg Skeet fictive?

Yeah so I did in fact get married to said adult bootleg Skeet fictive along with my other lovely spouse a while ago. I mean, again, about as married as you can get when you’re poor and polyamorous and all your polymours are alters in an OSDD system.

Sleet decided to be sneaky about it though like the silly man he is. He gave both me and my other spouse ring pops and said “happy marriage” and “happy engagement” to us respectively. Basically: he proposed to Lio the day I go married to them, and also married me.

The thing is…I did not REALIZE that he was basically marrying me, mostly because of a conversation we had a couple days before where he expressed he was suddenly nervous about getting married and wanted to hold it off longer…until I said he didn’t have to get married to me at all if he didn’t want to, to which he promptly changed tune and claimed he could marry me if he wanted to. (Sleet has this thing where he likes to do things on impulse. He’s very rebellious and doesn’t like plans)

I just assumed he was gonna marry me some other day after I married Lio, though. Like, on the fly, unless directly proven otherwise. He kinda did marry me on the fly, I guess.

So yeah I kept calling Sleet my fiance for like, weeks after the wedding until it suddenly clicked that he…he gave me a ring pop, to marry me with. Is he my husband now?! I ended up asking whoever was fronting in Sleet’s system at the time and according to that alter Sleet was fucking LAUGHING in headspace.

So to summarize: I am very stupid and also I’m married to the silliest little guys in the world. 💜 Decided to blog about this since valentine’s day was yesterday. If anyone wants to know more details about how the wedding day went, feel free to reblog and ask!

Anyways I’m glad my gorey timeloop Kai whump fic inspired such an interesting conversation. I don’t have anything to add to this, too smooth-brained. I’m just pleasantly surprised I influenced this reblog chain.

A day or so ago I read this fic called 'come sweet death:replay' or smt like that (not gonna spoil it) and it's got me thinking abt the ways of elimination especially after the episode of Skeet’s death / third team elimination. Watching Skeet, it must of hurt but he didn't degenerate like the girl did from g3 (I don't remember what episode) so possibly, if any of the other kids were to die..would we see their corpses too? Mangled wise.

In s1 there's many ways they could die and (im assuming) they would desecrate so for my next pondering question / hypothetical, Say Adam got caught by Torus and idk..got his shit rocked (decapitation, crushed or being beat up) would he desecrate being caught or only if he died? (Heart stop) does this make sense? I'm not sure but I'm just in my thinking and it's 11 am.
