When Y/n finally put her phone away, she noticed the footsteps had stopped. Stopped? She cautiously turned around to look down the other side of the hall, only to be interrupted by someone behind her. “What the hell are you doing?”

She jumped out of her skin, backing up a few feet. “That scared the shit out of me-” She set a hand in the middle of her chest and stabilised her breathing. “What’s your prob…lem?” Y/n’s hands fell to her sides as she looked up at him. He was tall- huge, even. His hair looked dark, though the already dim lighting made it difficult to tell. He seemed endearing, almost. However, one look at his irate facial expression, and she was on edge again.

“You were standing alone in the dark, and you were, like, spaced out, so I came to see if you were okay?” If Y/n trusted her eyes more, she would’ve thought he was blushing.

“O-Oh,” She must’ve looked stupid staring at her phone like that, “Thanks? I’m fine, just uh- a bit lost.” He almost laughed. Almost. 

“Where were you headed? I could take you there.”

“I was headed to gym two, but it’s getting late, and I should probably find my way back to my room now.” She fidgeted with her hands.

“Do you know how to get there?” He nearly slapped himself, he sounded so rude.

“No.” Y/n looked up at him with an almost sad expression.

“C’mon, I’ll walk you.”

She looked at him, bewildered. Two seconds ago, he was stomping down the halls with the subtlety of an elephant and glaring at her. Now he’s offering to walk her back to her room? This guy is weird.

“Uh, sure?” He gave her one last look before walking in the direction he came from. She stood there for a second, stunned, but quickly recovered and did a little jog to catch up with him.

They walked up a couple of floors together in silence. It wasn’t quite awkward, but it wasn’t comfortable either. They were both waiting for the other to say something. They passed the rooms the teams were staying in and headed further down the hall. Y/n caught a glimpse of Kiyoko just as she walked into the manager’s room.

“Oh, Kiyoko’s there!” She turned around suddenly and gave a small bow to the boy who walked her. “Thank you very much.” He was stunned, but bowed back.

“N-No problem.” Y/n skipped into the room and gently shut the door, greeting Kiyoko. He stood in the hall for a moment before letting out a sharp huff, turning on his heels and walking back to his own room.

THOUGHTS

-Tanaka is totally not super jealous of Kageyama for getting the chance to hang out with one of the managers.

-Hinata was standing in the doorway of Karasuno's room when the two walked by.
