I love Yor’s confession to little Anya. This might set up some situations where Anya subtly creates romantic situations for Loid and Yor and pushes them together because of her mind-reading abilities 🌼🫧

I actually think there will be some sort of TwiYor development after this scene, however big or small.
Some thing will fundamentally change in their dynamic, because it feels like one major reason for the Garden arc before this was to push Yor to start questioning where she stands in their marriage and what exactly she wants out of it moving forward.
I just don’t know how big it will be, or if it will plant the seeds for larger development down the line.

I wonder if at any point in the Mommy Friendship Plan C scheme, Loid and Anya will be invited to a Volleyball tournament and Loid will see Yor in her cute outfit ☺️

Yor is canonically pretty and attractive. I’d like to see her get some attention from other men and for Loid to notice. It doesn’t have to lead to a big jealousy arc, or even anything major, but it’s just a selfish desire of mine.
Whether that be Hemlock or Thistle or Whistle. I don’t care 💅

I hope Chloe and Yuri’s work friends are catalysts that helps him realize he has so much more potential.
He doesn’t need to blame the Forgers for his evolving and changing relationship with his sister. He can’t always be there to protect her. Yor doesn’t need to be the sole person in his life to bring him a sense of purpose and community.
It will be so rewarding to see him evolve out of his sister’s shadow 🪽

Damian is a key character for the SpyxFamily story moving forward. He had the fourth most panels after the main three in 2024. Endo focused quite a bit on Damian so far, from his developing friendship with Anya, strained relationship with his father/family, deep connection with Emile/Ewen, and positive interaction with Loid. This leads me to believe that he will have a bigger role in the upcoming story arcs. Afterall, he is the son of the supposed villain of the whole story. And I do believe Anya and Damian are the central dynamic of this story, at least for now and how Endo set it up 100+ chapters in.
Although him and Anya are not yet friends, they are on their way to a friendship. Their relationship grew a lot from him being a very mean bully, to him sabotaging some of his chances at personal happiness in favor of Anya’s comfort. He is the first person in the whole story to hear about Anya’s telepathy from Anya herself. That’s a huge deal. I believe it foreshadows that he’ll learn the truth and they will be the only two to know about her telepathy for a while before anyone else finds out (ie. his friends, Becky, etc).
Moreover, I find it interesting that Damian first interacts with Loid in a setting where he is both vulnerable due to his father’s looming presence and guided upward by Loid’s encouraging comments (regardless of how fake Loid was in that moment because he will likely be more genuine later on). Damian is left with a positive impression of Loid and it’s likely he will have more interactions with the Forgers that will leave him wishing he could have that for himself.
Endo also emphasizes both Damian’s strained family dynamics and stabilizing friendship with Ewen and Emile.
His dysfunctional and depressing home life is meant to be a contrast to Anya’s peaceful and fun one, illustrating that found family can be just as powerful as a “real” family. Damian and Anya find themselves in these contrasting environments and, as we’ve already begun to see, they will play an important role in the pair’s dynamic moving forward. Damian craves Anya’s family dynamic, a present father figure like Loid, and loving mother like Yor, while Anya understands Damian’s desire for his father’s approval, because she herself doesn’t know for certain if Loid actually loves her. She mostly thinks about two things — operation strix and Sy-On boy because deep down she wants Loid’s approval and love.
Damian’s friends are one of the few stabilizing aspects of his life. They are a constant, reliable part of his life and their presence humanizes him and creates a space for him to grow as a person instead of the machine that it sometimes feels Eden Academy wants him to be.
It’s always fun to speculate about the future story, so if I’m wrong, that’s totally okay! I love hearing about what other fans think of the future Damian and Anya, so please do share your thoughts!

I really love how Endo sensei writes chemistry b/w characters. He’s more of a “show” than a “tell” writer and I think that helps cement a lot of the believability, especially with a dynamic like Damian and Anya, where there’s this childlike innocence.
But you can clearly tell that Damian likes her for something deeper — he wishes to be around her b/c he sees in her the happiness and carefree child that he wishes he could be, and it’s so powerful the way Endo sensei wrote it. I like how he doesn’t spell it out but it’s definitely there in the story beats that Damian’s crush is more than just a “she’s cute” thing 🥲✨

SpyxFamily Eden Chapters
Does anyone else actually enjoy the Eden Academy chapters with Anya and the other kids? I like their antics and seeing how they all interact with one another. I love Damian’s character and story so far too.
I almost want to say that those are some of my favorite chapters in the manga so far, but I’ve been seeing some complaints about these chapters online so I wonder if that’s a view shared by other fans 😆

What are everyone’s thoughts about the future Anya/Damian storyline?
Does anyone else feel like the Imperial Scholars are experimented on by the elite? It all seems a bit cultish.
Damian and Anya might have to work together in the future by utilizing her telepathy and Damian’s knowledge of it. He might even be forced to chose between his familial love for his negligent father or his evolving friendship with Anya 🤝
I don’t know if the story will get much darker, but it definitely feels like it could get a bit dark.

Loid seems older than 27-28 years old when he tells Yor to be herself because that will bring out more of her genuine, confident personality.
He gives off the energy of a wise 30-32 year old man. Also, he gives off similar vibes in other moments when he is imparting wisdom (like when he tells Yor that she is “strong”) or when he’s wearing those comfy sweaters 🤓😆

**Furiosa (2024) Spoilers Ahead**
I’ve watched Furiosa twice already and I can’t stop thinking about the dynamic between Furiosa and Praetorian Jack.
I thought it was actually quite beautiful to illustrate how much they were willing to sacrifice for one another by the end of the movie. Amidst all the degeneracy, violence, backstabbing and just plain bleakness of this world, I appreciate that this world was still able to produce something so beautiful, even if it was fleeting and short-lived.
I can’t stop thinking about how much of a catalyst this dynamic becomes for Furiosa in the third act of the film as well as in Fury Road, all the things she learned about being street smart and caring for another person.

Do you guys think we’ll get Loid and Yor’s first date after she got shot in the butt animated?
I am hoping it is episode 16. It’s an extra mission, so I hope they don’t skip it because it would be interesting to see the contrast between that date and the next one after Fiona’s intro, which will likely be towards the end of the cour.

I love that Bond is a “outcast” just like the Forgers. Sure they all have their own secret identities, but more importantly he’s an older dog. Older dogs have a much harder time getting adopted. And yet…here we are in SxF world. It’s really beautiful 🌺 🐶

This might be an unpopular opinion…Chapter 68 was funny and cute, but it was kind of ‘meh’ overall. I’m over the siscon gag in SxF.
Like I understand where Endo sensei might be going with it with Yuri and Yor being extremely dependent on each other growing up, but I would love to see Yuri grow into his own as a character and develop some independence from his much beloved sister. It would be interesting to get into the backstory of how and why he got roped into the Secret Police, maybe a day to day on his life in it, some dynamics with coworkers. I’d much rather see that than Yuri’s jealousy of Loid, which has been reiterated time and time again.

Yor/Thorn Princess Feels Underdeveloped
*** Manga Spoilers ***
I love SxF. I love these characters. But I just have to say something that continues to bother me…
I’m disappointed with Yor’s character arc so far. I’ve read the manga up to the latest chapter (67.2), and while she has had some amazing moments, I really don’t feel like she has any personal ambitions outside of her relationships with Loid, Anya and Yuri.
I definitely want those relationships to blossom, but while it feels like both Loid and Anya have goals and are developing outside of their dynamics within the family structure, I don’t see much of that with Yor.
Loid’s core motivation is to prevent war so children won’t cry and there will be some semblance of world peace. Anya’s goal is to help Loid, befriend Damian and do well in Eden College. What are Yor’s overarching goals?
Her biggest arcs so far have been 1) worrying about being a good wife and 2) whether or not she should give up the one thing this story decided she is good at (being an assassin) for her pretend family. These are great goals, but shouldn’t there be more depth to her character?
The cruise arc was amazing but I don’t feel like it developed her character much other than to show us what we already knew — she is getting attached. I was hoping we’d see some goals about where she sees herself with her career as an assassin within that framework and the Garden hierarchy, whether or not she wants to take on more responsibility, what kind of world she wants to see through her work as an assassin. Even something related to political ideology could have led to interesting convictions/passions for her work as an assassin. Something. Literally anything about her job/career/assassin work/a personal goal for her own self-fulfillment/etc. Something not related to being a mother/wife.
I mean, it’s been nearly 68 chapters. It’s clear that she has a deep sense of pride in her job, but that’s more “tell” than “show” in this story apparently.
Maybe I’m reading too much into it. It’s just something that has irked me because I know Endo sensei has the writing talent to do all of it. But I’m wondering if it will ever happen. Maybe she’s meant to simply be a side character. Maybe the Melinda Desmond arc will help flesh out her character. I hope so.

I just love this piece so much because it perfectly exemplifies so much of what I love about Loid/Yor. Yor is worried about being “normal” while Loid is just like, “Fuck normal. Fuck conventional society.” 😮‍💨
