I acctually have a few more of these from back when I made that one !! I originally made them to use as emotes on disc ^^

I wanted them to be higher quality so I spent an ungodly amount of time tracing over the orignal images and filling in bits of hair or clothing that were cut off by the original manga borders 😭😭 for some reason one was not enough for me I had to go and make 6! Worth it though he is sososososo silly :D

My fellow Shinjuro stans are more than welcome to use these as well ofc 🥺

REAL SHIT ‼️‼️‼️‼️ though I definitely think Shinjuro was a character that needed to be further explored and the fandoms general outlook on him can be attributed to the fact that it wasnt, there really wasnt a lot of time spent on his story overall while I know KNY had to rush to finish I still wish time had been set aside for him.

I wish the anime would do it, but I doubt they will.

I really do think an important story was being told here as I've seen the way alcohol destroys a person right before my eyes. I have seen the way that people with no where else to turn fall to it, it's probably why his story is so gut punchingly sad to me I would go as far to say that a lot of us can probably say we know/know of someone who turned to drinking because of depression but how many of us can say we saw them successfully recover? That's apart of what makes Shinjuros story so impactful he pulls himself out of that hole BUT I feel like its voided by the fact that we aren't directly shown him improving save for maybe a panel or two maybe. I think in a universe where Shinjuro was more included in the story, more people would sympathize with him.

IN CONCLUSION JUSTICE FOR SHINJURO ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

About Shinjuro Rengoku...

Shinjuro is not a villain, but a broken man and many people in the fandom don't realise that.

He lost the love of his life (nobody can convince me otherwise that Shinjuro didn't loved his wife Ruka dearly) and has to realize with a bitter face that no matter how much you train, you will never be strong enough than when you were born with this strength (aka the diary of his ancestors).

People also tend to forget how much he actually loves his kids and what a passionate father he was to them, excited to teach them the sword, but then Ruka died and he turned to alcohol to drown his grief. And we all know that alcohol can bring out the worst in people.

Shinjuro knows how coward he acted and actually wrote an apology letter to Tanjiro. Find someone who can stand for their foolish actions and then sincerly apologize. Anyone can be an asshole, but apologies and seeking redemption is not easy. And he tries, he really tries by stopping drinking and protecting the Ubuyashiki children. Not to bring shame upon the name of House Rengoku.

Chapter 81

And he cried not only because his son was gone. I think the realization that he might lose his son in the battle settled in ages ago. But he began crying because he knew that he wasn't the best father to his son before he died. It’s why he initially refuses to listen because he doesn’t want to acknowledge that Kyojuro could have built hatred for him. And now Kyojuro couldn’t make it home safely and he has no way to apologize, but hearing that his son held no resentment towards him was a breath of relief but also very heartbreaking to him. It’s the fact that Kyojuro loved him despite his ranting and belittling words and he regrets ever treating him that way, but he was lost in despair.

Little bonus:

A cute little manga panels where Senjuro pulls his father by his hand and he is all awkward and a bit shy.🥺
