5 Centimeters Per Second

5 centimeters per second is a wonderful and delightful novel written by Makoto Shinkai, a Japanese director, writer, producer, animator, editor, cinematographer, voice actor, manga artist and former graphic designer. He is best known for directing Your Name, the current highest-grossing anime film of all time, and was listed by Variety as one of 10 animators to watch in 2016.

In a personal aspect, 5 cm per second is one the most realistic novel I have ever read because it represents the reality which we are living in. True love can never stay the same if distance and time are in the way and human emotion is very complicated and this novel helps us to understand more about the unfairness from. This story is a tale of two people, Tono Takaki and Shinohara Akari, who were close friends but gradually grow farther and farther apart as time moves on. They become separated because of their families yet continue to exchange contact in the form of letters. Yet as time continues to trudge on, their contact with one another begins to cease. Years pass and the rift between them grows ever larger. However, Takaki remembers the times they have shared together, but as life continues to unfold for him, he wonders if he would be given the chance to meet Akari again as the tale embarks on Takaki's realization of the world and people around him. In the end, they did end up passing each other but they did not realize it until the train separate them and they just kept on going on their own path.

The novel is very successful because it is a combination of feelings which are fully passed on to the readers. Throughout the whole story, all we can see is the complexity of human emotion and the reality of love itself. The novel also hooked people in by the similarity which is packed in this one single book. It makes people want to say: “This is me, this is exactly what happened to my life”.
The novel also make people wake up from their long dream of true love, it helps people to understand that the reality we are living in is hard. 5 centimeters per second is the speed at which cherry blossom fall but it is also the speed at which we lose each other.

This quote was taken from page 1 of the novel.

This quote was taken from page 250 from the novel.
To summary, I would rate the novel 9 out of 10 because of its complexity on the characters and the plot. The conflict from the novel was light and firm but leave a significant impression on the readers. Hunted but beautiful is how people describe 5 centimeters per second.

Rain And Snow

This is one of the books which Mrs. Danielle did a review on and her blog provide information about the main plots of the novel and the life lessons about taking care of your children. The blogger wants to introduce people to the novel and explain why it is a beautiful novel and the reason why everyone should read it. The information which the blogger provided was complete and understandable; the protagonist of the novel is a normal girl name Hana and she falls in love with a young interloper she encounters in her college class, the last thing she expects to learn is that he is part wolf. Instead of rejecting her lover upon learning his secret, she accepts him with open arms. Soon, the couple is expecting their first child, and a cozy picture of family life unfolds. But after what seems like a mere moment of bliss to Hana, the father of her children is tragically taken from her. Life as a single mother is hard in any situation, but when your children walk a fine line between man and beast, the rules of parenting all but go out the window. With no one to turn to, how will Hana take care of her children and which paths would they choose? Moreover, there is also one more book which was very significant called “The girl who leaped through time”. All of them were written by Mamoru Hosoda (細田 守 Hosoda Mamoru, born September 19, 1967) who is a Japanese film director and animator.

The novel was rated 4.5 out of 5 stars by the blogger and she also gave good recommendations on the novel. This is one of the final reviews from her: “This movie made me laugh and cry and I was on the edge of my seat and did not move.”

If anyone interesting in this novel you can purchase it on this website:
https://www.amazon.ca/Wolf-Children-Yuki-Mamoru-Hosoda/dp/031640165X/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1507251358&sr=8-2&keywords=wolf+of+children
There are also many fascinating quotes which were taken from the novel but here is the most beautiful quote from the movie adaption which the protagonist said to calm her children down.

Unfortunately, there were not any references to other reviews or buzz around the novel. However, the blogger did provide a personal story to frame the review by pointing out that after watching the movie she felt sympathized with the protagonist in the novel as a mother and understood how hard it was to raise children on their own. Following her review or blog on the novel, you will notice how she hooked people in just by a few types by giving us the feeling of curiosity and the feeling of sadness and hope. Combine with some of the sad and memorable pictures from the movie adaption you helped us to understand and have an idea on what the novel was about. In a personal aspect, I think that the blogger has outdone our expectation on writing her review on this novel. The blog was simple, short but gave us enough information on what the novel is going to be about. Throughout the whole blog, she introduced us to the novel by saying it in a funny way and then guide us to the end of the novel with wonderful pictures from the movie adaption then provided us with her personal story and the life lessons which we can learn from the novel. Then end the blog with a delightful rating and a light quote. The blog organizational structure was a simple paragraph which separate into smaller paragraph introducing the stories and why people should read it. More over, the blog also includes pictures, quotes, and the link to the website which sell the novel.
To sum up, the blogger did a great job on summary and giving positive review on the novel. Also, the summary is really firm and interesting with realistic pictures and quotes which help us understand the novel more and get hooked in.
