Eunyung Baek character analysis (AGHHHH IM SOBBING)
Growing up, Eunyung was exposed to all kinds of violence in the seclusion of his own home. His father was a drunkard and his mother was a woman who couldn't stand up for her child when her husband would abuse him. He was hit frequently and his parents neglected him emotionally.
They were unpredictable and extremely manipulative. Eunyung had grown up in an environment where he constantly had to keep an eye out for "patterns" in their behaviors so as to not aggravate his parents. Instead of knowing how horrible this treatment truly was, he was manipulated into believing it was he who was at fault. His parents would enable this thought process by placing the blame on him and that their actions were justified because he was a "troublesome problem child." This was why he begins to believe that he is completely independent and doesn't need any help whatsoever.
During his childhood, he'd run away multiple times. Whenever he would run away, he would end up hanging out with delinquent children who didn't wish for him to improve and instead praised his miserable way of life. They didn't want to see him succeed, but wished and even expected for him to live in the horrible conditions he was forced into. An example of this would be Dongbum (I'm not too sure if that's his name) when he sees Eunyung working in the convenience store. He had fully believed Eunyung would still have been leading such a miserable life just like he had in middle school, and even egged him on for actually improving his state of life (ex.: actually putting in effort in his studies when he neglected them during his middle school years.)
Wanan initially paints Eunyung as a mean jerk who had ripped up Haejoon's stomach and had lied through their first official meeting, albeit as we proceed through the story and get to learn more about him, we actually find out that his rough demeanor and less than great defense mechanism were a result of his living conditions growing up. Growing up with abusive parents who gaslit him and blamed him at every opportunity would rub off on him whether he liked it or not. We can see this especially in his habit of lying. He used lying as a way to close himself off from others, to protect himself from being vulnerable to someone he couldn't trust. He hides his true emotions, even to those he deems as friends.
His lifestyle as a child led him to easily recognize those with similar experiences as him — he'd noticed when Marie flinched away when he'd loomed over her, trying to grab the voice recorder. He'd immediately noticed the change in the demeanor of Haejoon's mother after the absence of his father, when Haejoon himself hadn't noticed it once throughout his many years living with her.
Eunyung keeps himself at a distance from even his closest friends to protect himself. After all, only God knows what would happen if he left even a minor weakness for them to exploit, right? He wouldn't risk having his business spilled to the world, being judged, or even being left alone. All alone, without anyone.
Haejoon and Eunyung's relationship is honestly one of the best developments in the manhwa. Initially, the two have a very sour relationship due to the horrible acts they've done against eachother. Yet they're stuck together, whether they like it or not, because one of them has another place to go to. As the story progresses it, it was revealed that Eunyung was fond of Haejoon because he was just as miserable as he was. He had no where to go back to, no home, and the warmth of a family was long gone for both. They're both equally miserable. Seeing Haejoon's loneliness helped fill the loneliness and sadness in his own heart.
Yet they weren't the same. They couldn't be. Eunyung had been in the state of despair and loneliness for a very long time by now, and Haejoon was only beginning to step foot into that abyss. Eunyung seemed to admire or more of envy the fact that Haejoon retained his ability to feel so deeply, to trust, and to put effort into his life despite everything he'd been through. He retained his sense of justice and empathy, despite everything horrible that had happened to him. Unlike the Eunyung who resented the world, kept himself at a distance from everything and everyone around him, and acted like he couldn't care less about others' opinions when he hated being judged, hate having things assumed about him, hated having his pain and efforts overlooked because of his ability to hide it so well.
It's the predictable outcome, considering his past, that he's so aggressive toward others, so reluctant to break free of the mask of falsehoods he hid behind. He uses aggression as a means to get out of any situation to give himself the advantage, to stop anyone from hurting him like his dad did, and to protect himself from the traumas of the past.

I would love to see what your hypothetical Kanade crash out would look like ngl (you don't need to draw for this if you don't want to a text explanation would still be awesome)

ok soooo this isn't exactly the crashout but rather building up to it i guess :P
the rest of this post is gonna be rambling and predictions ⬇️
alright this ask enabled me, im gonna just dump all my thoughts as of now on what's to come for kanade's story :) i could end up being completely wrong, but hey im just theorizing and having fun here while i wait very impatiently lol
To start, I don't think kana5 will be on the scale of mizu5 (i mean i might be biased but idk if anything will come close to that level of insanity again), mainly because there hasn't been as much build-up to a breaking point. Kanade's issues have been pushed aside (by herself especially) and not heavily focused on up to this point in the story. There hasn't been any increasing tension for things to reach a climax yet. Having her big break be in this next event would be too sudden and sort of unprecedented. For this event at least, I highly doubt that'll be the case. Instead, I think this event will start to touch on Kanade's buried issues more, and begin building that tension for something bigger. I can see this being a multiple event arc, similar to the events leading up to the climax of Mafuyu's story. Summarizing that, yes I think Kanade's got some real tough shit ahead of her, but that's why this won't be a one-off event story. I think it'll just be the beginning.
That being said, to touch more on my predictions for kana5 itself, I think Kanade will start to slip, and the others, Mafuyu especially, will take notice. I can't really predict anything specific, but I think something will happen that will make her question her ability to save people, or cause her to be harder on herself, as she has in the past, to keep composing persistently, neglecting her own needs and health. However, things are different now than they were before niigo. She has more people around her that will be able to see the damage she's doing to herself. But she also knows they all look up to her, and that her music lifts them up. She knows they all have a lot they're dealing with, and she needs to be there for them. She can't let them down.

Then, when Kanade pushes herself past her limits at the cost of her well-being, what will she do then? She meets with the others on nightcord every night, and Mafuyu is living at her place. She won't be able to rot away by herself anymore without people noticing. But she still feels this need to be the group's rock and to be the one to save everyone, so she'll try her damn hardest to prevent the others from worrying about her. She'll shoot down their attempts at trying to talk about it. I think she might be especially stubborn this time around, and it might cause niigo to have to figure out a way to help Kanade, since they won't be able to get through to her at first.

Kanade has shown in the past to get uncharacteristically aggressive when she's pushing herself too hard, as shown above. She starts to take on everything herself, and snaps at anyone who tries to stop her. I think this side of her will be shown more going forward, as she begins to go down this kind of self-destructive path yet again. At least, that's where I think her story will go. Her tendency to work herself to the bone hasn't really been resolved, and she's gone so far with it before to end up in the hospital after passing out. She doesn't care what happens to her, as long as she can save people. The only reason she has ((slightly)) gotten better at taking care of herself is so that she can be able to keep composing without ending up in the hospital again. Not because she cares about her health. Because she must keep composing. She still only does the bare minimum for herself. If it's her cooking, she's only having instant ramen, and most days she's probably not going to see the sun. She still doesn't sleep much, and Mafuyu has said that she's often falling asleep at her computer.
This might be getting a little rambley atp, but my point is that Kanade neglects her own needs in her determination to save others. I mentioned how she neglects her physical health in the last paragraph, but she also neglects her own feelings as well.
She minimizes her own problems or just doesn't even talk about them. I think she truly believes that her problems don't matter, that they only distract her from her goals. The reason she doesn't open up is likely because she herself doesn't believe her feelings are important at all. She doesn't pay them any mind, and she doesn't want anyone else to either.

Of course, I have to bring this card up. I think this is just a perfect visual representation of Kanade's feelings, and it's great foreshadowing for what's to come. Those feelings are buried deep within Kanade, yet to be addressed or solved. THIS is what we're getting into. Kanade, depicted as an angel, surrounded by death. I think this is related to her guilt surrounding what happened to her father, believing it was her fault. That she destroyed everything. But because of that incident, she told herself she has to keep composing, and never stop, in order to save people. She feels like she owes that much, and that that's her sole purpose. She won't allow herself to think otherwise. No matter how much it destroys her, she must be a savior for others.

Last thing I wanted to add, because I saw this reblog under a prev kanade analysis post, and they brought up great points. Especially how dangerous Kanade's composing grind can get. We wouldn't even have a story if Honami hadn't found Kanade unconscious!!! I think she might get to a really low point again like this, but having Mafuyu there especially, it won't be able to go unnoticed. I don't have much else to add to those tags though cus they speak for themselves 🙏
Finally, just real quickly going back to the little comic I drew, this is just a rough idea of how I think Kanade could act. She'll get noticeably worse, but will try to hide that fact from the others and deny any help from them. I also mentioned that I think we could see more aggression from her again, so I included that, as she feels threatened in a way by Mafuyu worrying about her. She can't let that happen. Also, Kanade's impending doom aside, I think this progression in the story may also spark some change in Mafuyu. She might show some more emotion in this or future events, and she may realize how much Kanade means to her, motivating her to do more for her. I think it'll be a full group effort to save Kanade, but I wanna see Mafuyu taking a bigger role in this. I just think this also has the potential to grow Mafuyu's character more.
Also, as for the Kanade crashout, I really don't know how they'll handle that. I can't really predict what they're gonna do with her climax. But I want her screaming yelling and crying !!! like she better go insaneeee 🙏 and I also feel like they have a lot of potential with her seiyuu/VA and stepping out of the soft quiet voice to do some crazy shit, maybe in the songs too pls pls pls give us loud kanadeeee
OKAY THATS ENOUGH YAPPING its 5 am i havent slept....

Maeno Aki analysis (゜∇^d)!!
Maeno's parents were very loving and cared for him deeply. As a child, they would frequently take him on trips to hone his talents. Albeit his time with them was short-lived, as they'd passed when he was only 5 years old. Their car had sunk on one of their trips, and his parents ended up sacrificing themselves for his survival. This gave Maeno an intense fear of the sea, often reaching to the point where he would avoid taking baths.
After their death, Maeno would end up living alone in a grand house, with only books to accompany him. Because of his extended time spent reading, Maeno is very intelligent and well-versed medically. Since he often avoided social interactions and stayed holed up in his house most of the time, he was considered a weirdo by many peers.
Maeno ended up befriending his neighbor, Ushinoro Fuyu, and his younger sister, Ushinoro Natsu. If it weren't for Fuyu, Maeno likely would've kept up his behavior of keeping to himself alone at home. Yet all that was destroyed after Maeno was pushed to cannibalizing Natsu for his own survival.
Maeno fostered intense feelings of guilt after the death of Natsu. His own incurable illness killed a dear friend of his, but who was to blame but him? He should have been the one to meet his demise from ZENO, not Natsu. Not only did it destroy his mental health, but it also destroyed the friendship he held with Fuyu. Both his parents and Natsu ended up sacrificing themselves for his sake, and he could only feel guilt weighing down on him, crushing him and developing his self-sacrifing tendencies.
Maeno ended up becoming a respected and crucial doctor at the ZENO facility. He wanted to make sure nobody would have to experience what he'd gone through. Yet the trauma of losing all the important people in his life haunted him.
Tsugino was one of Maeno's patients. Maeno was very friendly toward him. Eventually, Tsugino would warm up to the doctor due to his persistent psychological help and offers of sweet treats, yet a ZENO relapse made the patient attack him, and that was the "end" of their interactions.
It was later revealed that Tsugino's ZENO had been triggered by bearing witness to Maeno's "act of love" toward Natsu. Tsugino thought this was how love was supposed to be expressed, and since he hadn't experienced proper affection his entire life, stuck by that warped perception. As that fact soon revealed itself to Maeno after going through the device Fuyu gave them access to, the guilt that haunted him erupted in his chest once more.
Natsu's sacrifice had already taken a toll on him for many years, yet the fact that it was the cause of another person's ZENO destroyed Maeno. In many endings, Maeno even loses hope and ends his life.
Maeno's altruistic personality stems from his deep guilt after the death of both his parents and his best friend's younger sister, when the fact that he was one of the factors that contributed to the blossoming of Tsugino's ZENO, the guilt only served to consume him further. He even offers himself when he is unable to cure his ZENO, doing for Tsugino what Natsu had done for him.
This is very sloppily written and some of it may be wrong since there isn't much discussion around Maeno's character (at least none that I'm aware of) in the ZENO fandom(;_;)/~~~

Maeno fun facts ahehhehw(*^▽^)/★*☆♪
1. Maeno is fond of sweets, particularly Japanese sweets and karinto.

3. He has a habit of toying with his braided hair.
4. In elementary school, he skipped taking tests because he thought they were bothersome, and only put in effort in junior high school, where he managed to do well and get good grades. In high school, despite sleeping in class often, he managed to score well. He is noted to have left tests unfinished because he gets bored and leaves early.
5. He excels at math and science.
6. He isn't good at reading Japanese, dislikes music and arts because he doesn't understand them, and skips P.E.
6. His club activity is just going home.

I hate it when people ship Pure Vanilla and Shadow Milk. Are we forgetting that Smc is constantly terrorizing Pvc??
To begin with, we can already see that Smc is rather vengeful because of the souljam. he will not back down until it is his, but Pvc doesn't want to give it to him. after all, Smc was a beast cookie - a corrupt cookie who got drunk off of his own power and threatened earthbread. Thus, the witches had stripped him and the other beasts of their souljams.
It is a popular theory that Shadow Milk had been watching over Pure Vanilla since his childhood, albeit I disagree, because the "proof" was simply Smc tampering with Pvc's memories. Shadow Milk has repeatedly disguised himself as the Light of Truth, making Pure Vanilla doubt himself constantly, and making almost every moment hellish. To have constant doubts and the stress of everything around him being fake must've been absolutely horrible, and it was all the work of Smc.
It's rather obvious that Smc isnt the least guilty about what he's making Pvc go through - rather, he finds it amusing to torture him psychologically.
I still haven't finished Beast-Yeast ep 7, so a lot of this might be wrong. This is just my personal interpretation on their relationship. Correct me if any thing's wrong!

Luka character analysis! (Tw: mentions of s/a)
Luka, like many other characters in Alien Stage, was made artificially with what is considered superior genes. His beauty gives us a clear impression that he was made to be an idol from the very start. At a young age, he was already being displayed to the aliens by Heperu. He was sexualized by the aliens countless times, as well.
As a child, Luka was picked on countless times by the other children. It has been confirmed that Luka is a big eater, albeit he was pushed out of line when he tried to get food. Not to mention, he has been on a strict diet and starved due to his career. At Anakt, Hyun Woo was Luka's first friend and best friend. Over time, both Hyun Woo and Hyuna had become very good friends with Luka.
As seen in a photo from the alnst exhibition (?), Luka was experimented on as a child. I believe the aliens had used a device to force his heartbeats to stop (I'm not really sure what it did) to instill the fear of death into him, and to teach him to control his heart beats when on the stage. These experiments led to Luka's heart disease.
Back to the topic of Hyuna and Hyun Woo, Luka viewed Hyuna as "his." In a short comic by VIVINOS, Luka asks Hyuna why she likes to sing. To summarize, she responds by saying it feels like her life is HERS when she's on the stage, which Luka responds to by saying "but your life is mine." We can see in one of the scenes in All-in that Luka had forced himself upon Hyuna as children to kiss her. Obviously, this is s/a, because she never consented. "Hyuna could've thrown him off, though!" they were children. Luka could've easily overpowered her and rendered her immobile by trapping her under him. It is also a popular theory that Luka killed Hyun Woo.
Due to the harsh environment in which he grew up in, he likely grew up believing these sort of actions were normal. He had no proper guidance to show him that this was wrong.
I got too lazy to write anything else... some of this might be wrong, so I'd appreciate it if I was corrected!
