The Mystery of the Lynx - Ethan Bonnet 🪐

Quick Note! This Ethan is separate from the one in my Chat Blanc comic. So the one from my comic is Ethan Bonnett and this new one is Ethan Lucien.

The stories are not that different, but I wanted to make revisions to his character and design since he was a bit...bland.

Anyways, here it is again! I struggled for a long time trying to fix the suit, so I ended up starting over. With his speed and power, he plays as the stealth and somewhat support of the team. I darkened parts of the suit, but since they mostly fight in the day, I think the colors shouldn't be too much of an issue.

And yes, while the magic does help conceal his identity, Ethan's appearance changes the most due to the fear of anyone else knowing his identity aside from Chloe, Ethan, and Monarch.

Ethan's Story With some time, Gabriel was able to get hold of the Lynx miraculous, all that was left was someone to use. Someone who would connect with the miraculous, but also someone he could keep control of. With some time and research, he stumbled on Ethan’s older sister, as she seemed to be quite skilled and Belle felt a good connection with her. Monarch had gone to meet her but instead came across her brother Ethan. He had done his research on the family and decided to offer the jewel to Ethan.

Ethan, mostly confused on whats going on, denys it, but Monarch mentions his sister. She did a lot to help her family and had worked hard to earn a scholarship to do ballet. Ethan stayed quiet so Monarch pushed further stating how he knew a lot about them from where they lived, went to school and worked and could learn a lot more if he wanted. He threatens that if Ethan doesn’t cooperate, he could go after his sister instead.

Ethan knew how much his sister did and sacrificed to help her family and work towards her goal, so out of fear and love for his family, he took the miraculous in her place.

Villain to Hero  Similar to the Chat Blanc comic, he stays on Monarch side for a long time, but in this version, he does it to protect his family. After the fight with Miracle Queen, he decides enough is enough and runs.

When he joins the heroes side, he isn’t still well received, but Monarch stays quiet as he now plans to scare him into coming back after all he wouldn’t let some kid take away a miraculous he had given him.

My Responsibility

I liked LadyLuck for her, but my brain was just too used to Ladybug. Also, their names are pretty well known so I changed it so Cat Noir calls her Lucky as her nickname and she calls him KitKat!

I wanted to keep some unity for their suits even with their different styles so they all get some gold accents, but LadyBug and Cat Noir are the only ones that have braids.

Not sure if their unified power would make sense but either way this is how they use it in this AU.

Marinette's Story Ever since becoming Ladybug she's felt a lot more of responsibility, not only being a hero of Paris but also dealing with the whole Midnight situation. When she first got the earrings, she struggled working with Cat Noir as he was reckless, rushing into battle and acting quite overconfident for their first time. It didn't help that she was scared and straight up didn't want the earrings, but Cat Noir was able to reassure her that she was chosen for a reason.

With Chat Noir's words and him by her side, he helped her grow her confidence as a hero, and bit by bit she began to develop feelings for him too.

Quick note that I wrote these their stories like a year ago, or maybe more, so some things might sound off. Tried to clean it up, but I also got a bit lazy 😅 Just wanted to finally post it after so long

The Mystery of the Lynx - Adrien 📸 🐈‍⬛

For Freedom

As I updated these, I realized that my early MLB designs left out many details, especially Adrien's. So while I kept the cane I added some small things to his civilian and hero fit to protect and support him with his hemiplegia.

I wanted Cat Noir to have an asymmetrical suit to reflect his personality and give him a tougher look, since his Cataclysm and crazy strength make him the team's main offense.

Also, Ladybug and Cat Noir have a little spidey sense from their masks, it's not as strong, and they still need their quick thinking for it to help them, but I like to imagine they play/practice using it by hiding things and smelling them out or with their eyes closed and listening for things during patrol.

Adrien's Story Adrien had been told since a young age that he could be a model, after all, he had the face for it, but he always declined the offer and his parents respected that. When Emilie died, bit by bit Gabriel began to change. He would be more strict with work, more controlling of those around him, and especially of Adrien. It was even Gabriel who pushed Adrien into modeling when offers kept coming.

Aside from Modeling, Gabriel also had Adrien signed up for other activities to not only improve skills but also so there was always someone keeping an eye on him. When Chloe brought up the topic of School with Adrien, it took a while and Natalie to help convince him to let Adrien attend. He agreed, but only if he was always driven by their bodyguard.

Like in the show, Adrien still has a rough start on his first day, but is still able to attend with a little help from Chloe. In school, Alya and Nino began to partner up more often when they became a couple, which left Adrien and Mari together. Adrien still struggled fitting in at times, often messing up the things he said or did but with Marinette being bullied before, she understood how it felt to be left out and worried about what others thought of you.

She often chatted with him and tried to help him out when he started to embarrass himself, which Adrien was thankful for. He admired that she not only helped him but also for her skills and talent in the things she did. When he decides to make her a bracelet, hoping to appeal to her creative side, he starts to realize that his feelings towards her had changed, she was more than just a friend.

The Mystery of the Lynx - Chloe 🐝

Chloe is still a bully at the beginning, but not in the same way she is in the show. She has power and influence, and while there is no Sabrina to follow her around, there are tons of others who want to.

After some time, Chloe does show some change, but it doesn't really hit until her mom leaves her again, and with no one else to turn to, she gets akumatized, unable to fight it. She's saved by Ladybug and Cat Noir, but she then disappears for a while, taking time for herself.

I wanted to give one of the kids braces, and Chloe was chosen randomly, but something about a pretty tough girl who not only wears braces but is pretty tall for her age felt right. Kind of made me think of Regina George, where her shirt was cut, but she still walked with such confidence.

Chloe's Story Chloe always tried many ways to gain her mother's acceptance, one of them being her voicing her thoughts for the hotel events, hoping to show her skills and earn her mother's approval. She continued to help with the events when her ideas did well and began to really enjoy it, but with her wanting things to go perfectly, she often acted bossy, which carried into her personal life as well.

When Ladybug comes along, Chloe finds a new adoration as she is strong and skilled and loved by all, something she wants too, and she even inspires her to be better bit by bit.

Before the battle of Miracle Queen, there was a family fight and her mom was ready to leave her again after Chloe had accidentally embarrassed her mom. Audrey began telling her how no daughter of hers would ever be like that, and figured she would just leave again.

Angry and scared Chloe left her parents arguing and went to call Adrien but he wasn’t able to pick up as he was busy fighting as Cat Noir. She felt scared and alone and overwhelmed by her emotions that she didn’t even notice the akuma coming to her. She wanted to fix things, she wanted her mom to stay, to love her. She was so blinded by rage and fear that she could hardly think and was akumatized.

After the battle, not even seeing Ladybug or Adrien could lift her spirits, and she was left feeling angry at herself as it seemed like nothing had changed. Even when Adrien and Ladybug went to visit her, she had them sent off. Afterwards, her dad encouraged her to join a support group, and even though she wasn’t thrilled and had a snarky reaction to it, she eventually tried it out. Although there weren’t immediate results, she continued to go.

The Mystery of the Lynx - Kwami's 🐞🐈‍⬛

I didn't have any issues with the original design, but I thought it would be fun to redesign/reimagine them a bit to fit my AU.

I gave Tikki and Plagg more details and got some inspo from their true forms and simplified them a bit, like Tikki's eyelashes and wings, and Plagg's eye third eye as a little spot on his forehead, and green stripes to represent his arms that don't connect. Since they are the strongest kwmai's in their miracle box, they get more details and have longer antennas.

The Mystery of the Lynx - Luka 🎶

In my early design, I had Luka, Chloe, and Ethan sharing a flower charm, but it felt too forced, like a parent or teacher pushing these kids together to be friends. I instead added the bracelet that Mari and Adrien have in the show, since it made more sense with them being partners and getting closer to each other.

And the Sunny's (aka Luka, Chloe and Ethan) most likely wouldn't be friends or hang out if it weren’t for Ethan's identity being revealed, so no more friendship charm for them.

Anyways, I adjusted his backstory a bit so he could show more emotion towards his relationship with his dad without getting akumatized for it.

Luka's Story: When Luka was young his dad had left to pursue his music career. It took a while for his mom to get back on her feet and while she did he helped look after Juleka. Even after their mom got better, Luka continued helping in any way he could. He made sure Juleka was ready for school, did her homework, and stood up for her as she was still very shy and quiet. Over time, he became so used to taking care of her that he began to act more like a father figure.

He wanted to stay strong for his family so he would hide how tired or stressed he was from his mom and sister.As he got older, it became clear how much he had taken on, and his family began to step in to help ease the burden. He still struggled with trusting others and always wanting to be there for Juleka and his mom, he still worked on growing past that.

When Jagged comes back to see the family, he's excited and nervous to see them, but Luka isn’t too welcoming at first. At the beginning, he's mad and angry and doesn’t hold back on how he feels to his dad, and although he doesn’t forgive him right away, a part of him feels better.

Thinking about it, that would mean poor Axel would die in the end in this AU 🤧 Anyways, here they are. I really liked how Kwon came out, but struggled a lot with Axel's face, feel like he kinda gives off Chad vibes.

Twisting Tiger plays Baseball?!

I take forever to draw and just as long to post it. Anyway, after switching the Supa Strikas around to different teams, I thought it would be fun to see Tiger (and maybe some of the other boys) playing other sports.

I like to think Tiger's team lets them have their nicknames on their uniforms, also no arm injury this time. Love you Tiger!!
