This is so inspiring to the imagination... "Smoke"; a breath of life, that has no substance, but can been seen, and moves with pure freedom.
Like our souls if we let them.

be meaningful to someone else
Sometimes its important to find personal fulfillment by just being human to someone else. Touching their mind and soul, reminding them that they too; are Beautiful. Smart. Important and Special. That they too, have something to offer others and the world.

I like the coloring books
because I like the calming feeling it is to just color... before the craze of the Adult coloring book cropped up, I would color in normal old childres ones from the local Dollar store. with the adult ones, I don't color the pages inside, cause they are too awesome and I may want to color them more than once... so instead - photocopy works.. or, put laminate over the page, and color with dry erase. the photocopy version though really lets the artist in you get out there - with the shading and details that dry erase don't. HA
Another fun thing - Doodle your own coloring page... then color it! its cheaper for one, and really expands the imagination.

Blogging vs Airing laundry?
So, I was thinking about the concept of expressing my thoughts and points of view on a media format such as Blogging, or Pod Casting or YouTube video channel etc., as many have done (I'm sure), and the thought popped in my head... Is it considered, Airing laundry?
This day and age of virtual society and technology, breeds this odd inherent feeling to over-share very personal things out for the world to see.. much of which most people would otherwise, not give a damn about. But there are also the aspects that talking about things, that are deemed deep, personal or controversial in nature, are often more therapeutic when expressed in an open format with people who are 80+% strangers to the person expressing them? Or in the less percentage, of folks where the topics are more interesting than annoying that keeps them reading, listening, etc., its simply entertainment...
So I guess I ask myself, and anyone who might care to comment - is in this day/society of Social Media technology... talking about issues, thoughts of self-conflict and development in the effort to find improvement, solace, enrichment or whatever, actually that or an airing of unnecessary drama and laundry out into the virtual cosmos in a desperate cry for attention and self-revolving gratification?
And, should I care enough to stop or keep going?

This painting is called "The Hunter I" its a hand drawn illustration that was then inked, painted and colored with Acrylic and Watercolor pencils, then later - refined digitally. I complete this piece in 2002, from the inspiration of a character (Gabriel) from a Christine Feehan novel - Dark Legend. This was the 1st created in this series, which developed to doing Holiday promos for the author's upcoming novels. I love these characters, they are rich, dark and beautiful.

Breaking bad habits, in the forge of establishing new ones
As creatures of habit, we all fall prey to the "bad" ones as well as those that are good or healthy for us, mentally, physically even emotionally. It is easy to cater to what is easy, to procrastinate what should be the priority. To indulge the things that bring instant gratification. Not saying that all such things should be avoided 100%, but more that there should be some level of balance. In some areas, I am ok at... and others not so much.
I am sure I am not alone.
What I hope for this blog is that I could somehow chronicle the evolution of me, and the growth of an artist. To in hopes by immortalizing it in writing will somehow solidify it into reality. To perhaps, help others in inspiration or encouragement in their journeys...whatever that may be.
I'm open to discussion, or questions that may help me get the thoughts going... so...message me and put "Ask Alice!" in the Sub. line.
Love & Light from my heart to yours - may the brightest of Blessings find you.

Its just me..
I created this account a while ago, and with shows, work, film etc.. going on, I have completely forgot about my tumbler. Shame on me.
So to get this off to a new foot, I'm just going to write... I don't think I will do recaps or catch ups, per ce.. .just talk about whatever comes to mind.. so here it goes...
I'm going to start with a bit of an introduction... I'm Jennifer Erin A.K.A. AliceOfelia. In the simplest of terms, I am an Artist. I love films, make-up/Special FX and costuming. I love being silly, and being a Geek; Star Trek, Ren Faires and Steampunk.
I have been a prof. artist for over 30years, doing all facets of art and designing, done memorials and worked on films and plays.
I am the creator of The Cherryheads. These cute and whimsical characters are dear to my heart, and since the experimentation that birthed them, they have touched many a heart. I invite you to visit them.... they would love to see you too.
