Not to be bisexual but Perrin and Faile are an EXTREMELY hot power couple. The size difference. The understanding of each other. “Get behind me—finish the ones I don’t get.” Okay little rogue and large blacksmith. Okay saddest, most noble wolf man in the world and the dopest, most noble woman* in the world. Okay daughter of generals…and the regular dude who never wanted to be a general…mmm…..another one for the het ships, i must admit

I keep coming back to Rand and Moiraine's conversation in the tent in S3E8. It's a really good moment, something we've been building towards all season but it also makes me So Sad. Because yes, it's a moment of genuine connection and acknowledment between the two but in my eyes it's all contingent on Rand accepting/embracing the role of the Dragon Reborn and dissociating from Rand al'Thor.
When he told Moiraine earlier in the season that she's "never once helped him", that's him - rightfully, in my eyes - calling out the fact that she sees/treats him only as a symbol with no care for his personhood. And now in this conversation she admits to that, that she played a part in the attack in Tar Valon, that she suspected what was happening to Egwene. She admits that she's actively trying to separate him from his friends and eliminate outside influence.
Rand's able to see past that and show gratitude, because finally Moiraine is honest and open, but also only because he accepts/buys into her dehumanization of him, and it's difficult to see because so far he's fought So Hard against his destined path and to hold onto his sense of self. But after the events of this season it's become increasingly clear that only misery awaits. His greatest fears have manifested and he has all the reason to expect it to only get worse and holding onto 'just Rand, who dreams of herding his sheep in the mountains and a starting family' will just make the inevitable hurt so much more. The Dragon Reborn on the other hand, he's prophecied. His path is promised and comitted to writing. Even if he succeeds he's bound to go mad with channeling, to cause destruction in his wake. The choice of it all is out of his hands and so there's no point in still struggling, and maybe some sense of peace in admitting that defeat?
And I don't mean to villianize Moiraine, she's not ruthless because she enjoys it and the only the reason she can ask for Rand to sacrifice, well everything, is because she's done it too. Doesn't lessen the tragedy of it though.

The forsaken as a concept are so funny to me. Like it's this group of objectively horrible people who are all literally dark mages trying to kill each other (and everyone else) but then also just like...jilted professors? Lanfear is the daughter of the night but also the WOT equivalent of the world's leading theoretical physicist? Peak. 10/10 villain design.

I understand that Siuan's death hurt and it's a tragedy, and we all wish she could have a happy ending, but please...
It's not Bury Your Gays if it's a political execution following a coup that had everything to do with power (and the plot) and nothing to do with her queerness
It's not for shock value if it's been foreshadowed through the whole season if you had paid attention to what you were being shown and not just what you want to see
WOT is full of characters who happen to be queer instead of it being their sole defining trait, more than most shows out there, so let's stop reducing Siuan Sanche to her queerness
She was a complex multifaceted character and sometimes characters die

For those that are interested in the context of the on-going Chinese stylists vs Infinity Nikki devs, here it is:
Papergames & Infold Games collectively decided to increase total pieces for 5-stars outfit set from 10 pieces to 11 pieces. Thus, increase the max pity to pull a full 5-stars outfit set from 200 to 220. Since you only get one pity 5-stars piece per 20 pulls. This get more expensive when you pull for a second set for the evolution.
Currently: One full 5-stars outfit set; 10 pieces * 20 pulls = 200 pulls max pity Bubble Season: One full 5-stars outfit set; 11 pieces * 20 pulls = 220 pulls max pity
Then there is another issue raised, which is Mira Crown being more than 14 days. While some argue that two Mira Crown per season is reasonable, but this is not the core of the issue. The core issue being that Mira Crown tooltip originally stated that it will reset every 14 days, however they have secretly removed this tooltip and increase Mira Crown duration in 1.5.
So, the Chinese community stylists right now are advocating for a max pity cap at 200 or 180 and revert Mira Crown back to 14 days duration. As what the game studio have done this time is predatory on stylists and paying consumers.

It's funny that there are so many people who think the Seanchan Empire in the books is meant to represent China, specifically China and China only.
Yes, the continent-spanning western Empire, originally founded by people from the old world who traveled westward across the ocean, subjugated the natives and build a society based heavily on slavery. Who eventually seek to push their order and worldview on other countries, and firmly believe that it is their right and duty to lead the world.
Who speak with a distinct drawl that Robert Jordan described as a Texas drawl.
China.

I guess the thing I appreciate most about show Rand and Moraine as main characters is how imperfect they are, sometimes even unlikable and untrustworthy. It’s not just moral ambiguity, it’s characters who are too real and beleaguered by their circumstances to fit into the standard size box.

Shout out to the Wheel of Time casting team for this absolutely epic casting choice. This is trans actress Rebecca Root playing an Aes Sedai, and it’s such a power move by the casting team, because either there are trans Aes Sedai, or this actress is playing a cis woman, which leaves transphobes arguing for her womanhood. It’s glorious.

Not a popular opinion on tumblr I know but I would argue character death is good for stories, actually, and often a death with long narrative consequences is much better use of a character than having them linger with no more important plot beats to hit.
Character death isn’t writers being mean to viewers or something characters don’t “deserve,” it’s an important part of narrative and plotting to give stories stakes and emotional beats. The work making you have an emotion is in fact the point, not something to avoid.

so you've got your twelve least favorite coworkers who you would dearly like to see die. fast forward three thousand years of extradimensional prison and you're in a post-apocalyptic wasteland where the only people you know are still your twelve least favorite coworkers. half of them are career academics.
and only one of you can be the universe's next top model.
