Project SEAPonyCon was a huge inspiration for AliCon when planning our 2018 event. We learnt a lot from them and many parts of AliCon 2018 were based off of their initial Thailand based convention.

ALICON 2018 - CHAIRMAN’S LETTER
To all attendees, VIPs, Vendors, Volunteers, special guests, organisers, and everyone in between who helped create AliCon 2018,
Thank you so much! I cannot show you how grateful I am for helping make this event possible. Whether you were there for just one day, or have been a supporter of the con since the beginning - you all helped make this happen.
Research on how to run such an event began back in 2015, and to see more than 3 years of planning finally come together, it was truly something magical. Running an MLP fan convention in Australia has been a dream of mine for a long time, and this past weekend that dream became a reality.
I want to give a special shout out to my Organisers: Frequency Wavelength, Lychee, and Talicorn. These three amazing individuals have worked so hard to help make AliCon 2018. I’ve made them laugh, and I’ve made them cry. Multiple sleepless nights organising and completing tasks to put on a fantastic weekend for all of you. I cannot describe how proud I am of them, and how happy it makes me to be part of a team of such amazing skill, courage, and determination.
As with any convention, we had our successes and our challenges. What matters most is that 237 of you showed that the Brony community is still alive in Australia. We had ponies come from all over the world to witness the first ever AliCon. I personally heard stories of ponies who took long road trips, flew in from around the country, and many more from overseas travelling from Asia, Europe, and North America.
To all 237 of you who attended AliCon 2018, thank you for making my dream a reality.
