"Why are you being so nice to me?" Chloe asks once we end the call with Jagged.

Marinette sighs. "You are going to find out a lot of things you are not supposed to anyway. I hate to do this but I need you to sign this. It essentially says anything about my life before i was adopted and any business matters will remain confidential unless life threatening situations or it is decided to become public."

Chloe reads over the paper before signing.

"Did you know I was adopted?" Marinette asks.

"No I had no clue." Chloe admits.

"The Dupain-Changs have had me since I was one. My mother had a one night stand with a couple guys in the span of two weeks. She was convinced I was the daughter of this one rich man but since I am a girl I couldn't be his heir. I don't understand that logic eather. Her solution was to wait till I came of age and use my Male offspring as leverage against that rich man. That was till my older brother came out as gay and a week later the rich man married a dude. She was convicted since I spent so much time with my brother and I apparently had rich guys DNA I would be gay and of no use to her. My brother is friends with dad so that's how they ended up with me. Though I am bi. Also you are a teen you are hardly responsible for your upbringing."

Chloe nod "for what it's worth I am really sorry about my past actions"

"I know and it's worth a lot." Marinette stands up. "Now we need to get you some new clothes."

"I don't have any money and -"Marinette cuts Chloe off. "Don't worry it's on me."

"Have you ever contacted the man that she thought was your father?" Chloe asks while trying on a light yellow dress.

"No, I doubt he would believe me plus I don't know how his husband would take it" Marinette hummed. That red dress was pretty.

"You are thinking to much about others again. Besides it's not like you are demanding anything or asking for a relationship. You are giving him a chance to meet his daughter if he has one. Oh- I'm sorry I said to much" Chloe stops her rant.

"No you are right. That was pretty insightful." Marinette states picking up a few hair ties. Then her phone rings "Hello?"

"Hello Miss MDC I am call about the contract you spoke of with my mom."

"Ahhhhhh yes, I'm afraid this will have to be quick I'm in the middle of another matter" Marinette explains.

"My apologizes, this is the only break I have today. I was wondering the soonest time we could meet about this contract and when I could see the building."

Marinette gives a thumbs up indicating she likes the dress Chloe picked out. "I can have a flight ready for you by tonight and you can see the building tomorrow. If that is not suitable I can send you a schedule of available flights and times."

"No no that is most efficient thank you Miss MDC. I look forward to meeting you"

"Who was that?" Chloe asks bringing a few pairs of jeans over.

"A business partner you'll meet tomorrow though you might have already met before. Speaking of which we are going to see about your new place of residence and job when we are done here."

As mad and disappointed as Marinette got at her class, at Lila, at Miss Bustier, at Mr. Damocles, at Hawkmoth, hell even Gabriel, she never broke her rules.

Never ask personal favors from clients.

Never publicly use your training.

Never let them know about your wealth.

But staring at a crying Chloe Bourgeois who had stood in the rain for god knows how long waiting for someone to open the bakery, she couldn't help the snapping sensation.

"I didn't know were else to go." Chloe managed through her sons. Marinette calmly guided the broken girl to her room. Chloe had passed out before she could get across what had happened. Marinette hummed.

Picking up her phone Marinette paused briefly. "Hey M wha-" Marinette cut him off "I need the security footage of all of the mayors residents. I would do it myself but his daughter is passed out on my lap. I'll pay." The man on the other side is silent for a minute "my brother can get it quicker. No need to pay but could you consider a contract. Even just looking at it would be enough."

"I'm going to say it has something to do with a bet. Just make sure none of the more violent members of your family is there I'm not sure what you'll find." Marinette hums before hanging up. Grayson would probably do more that get the footage but a contract with them would probably be beneficial.

Chloe rolled over in her sleep. Marinette moves down stairs. Her parents turn to her. "I wouldn't be attending school today. I believe this mater should be dealt with first." Her parents nodded then continued to prepare for the day.

Marinette walks back upstairs before making another call. "Mr Watson terribly sorry to be calling at this hour." Audible shuffling "Mari Mari it's not a problem at all. Though you normally aren't up this early did you sleep any?" Watson asks. " yes and I quiet regret it. There's a situation. I need some assistance with a friend of mine"

" shit your talking like sherlock. I'll be there as soon as I can. I can't promise he won't tag along." Watson says hurriedly "I called ina faver someone will be there to get you in five." Marinette hung up. "Kaalki, Trixx"

"Yes" the two appear. "Kaalki full gallop" Trixx make an allusion of me sleeping on the couch.

"I am terribly sorry Mr Holmes. I only have clearance for Dr Watson. Actually you are banned from Paris because of the possibility of Acumatization." Holly explains. "You really expect me to believe that after she just called in not one but two favors." Holmes looks on unbelievablingly. " you'll find sir Miss Marinette is willing to pay for services provided. She is an active part in investigating Hawkmoth as you well know." Huffing Holmes sits down as Holly brings Dr Watson through the portal. "I thought she said she slept?"

"Doesn't counteract staying awake half a week. The girl is in miss Marinettes room once you have checked her I'll be ready to take you back."

Marinette stared at the ceiling it had been two hours since she found Chloe. Chloe had some bruising from falling on her way there. thank god. Chloe also had a respiratory infection dew to standing in the cold rain crying all night as it turned out.

Then there was the reason she was standing in the rain all night. Chloe had been kicked out for being gay. Weather or not it was true Marinette could only guess, but Lila and Alya had fabricated enough evidence to make it seem so.

Marinette turned toward Chloe. She could contact chloe's mom and hope for a better reaction. If she didn't get the reaction she hoped for she could always corner the woman in the business world.

But that could get messy and Chloe needs something more stable. "I'm breaking all sorts of rules today huh." Marinette hit her head on the desk. "Well I was planning to buy the building eventually anyway. I can hire a manager."

Chloe was still asleep at lunch time when Nadja and Bridget came by.

"Sorry I called you on such short notice." Marinette apologizes as she sets the plates down.

"It's fine. Your parents said it was important" Nadja states.

"Yes I have a story for you. Or rather a news collab. However I'm not sure how much you'll be able to use as we will have to get permission for some interviews. Here is all my recipes. I am asking one other reporter to help as a favor Miss Louis. I designed some dresses for her."

"This has to do with the school doesn't it." Bridget pales looking at the binder full of papers.

"I wish it was just that. There's more a lot more but I didn't have time to make more physical copies. Here's the computer version." Marinette hands the girls the flashdrives.

"Why didn't you bring any of this to me before?" Bridget asks.

"I was the main target so why would i?" Marinette shrugs.

The women left to do their respective jobs. No doubt Bridget would have the school under investigation be the time Marinette made it back.

"Hello Miss Amelia" Marinette greeted through the phone. "MDC it's good to hear from you. How is my comission coming along?" Amelia asks happily.

"It's ready to be shipped. I actually called for another reason. Your son is quite business inclined corect?" Marinette continues to write up a contract as she does the call.

"Oh yes but he doesn't seem interested in opening his own business yet." Amelia explains.

"I am starting a side project. I was wondering if he would be interested in it since it would be competitive with both the Agrests and the Mayor. I will be involving a few others his age. I can send over the contract by the end of the day" Marinette explains.

"I can certainly see. Thank you for considering my son in such a big project."

Marinette turned to the half asleep Chloe. "Here it will make you feel better" Marinette hands her some meds. "You need more rest after you eat."

"Do you know what happened?" Chloe asks after eating. "I do. Though I made sure to get those posts taken down before anyone else could see them."

Chloe looks up in shock. "Tomorrow we are going to get you some new things. Quiet frankly you spent to much time with Gabriel criticizing your clothes and I doubt you want to go back there while you are sick." Chloe nods before laying back down.

Next call would be Jagged. That would be interesting but that would have to wait till morning. Chloe would need to be awake.

The plan was simple. Just like any of the times she framed Marinette. The pale faces of those around her however were not planned. Then a startling laughter echoed through the room. "You really should check the news after you have because akumatised." Chloe states once she stops laughing. "And to think it took this for you to realize she was telling the truth. Really Neno you were there with us when she took down two grown men at age five." Chloe tosses her phone at Lila.

A video starts to play. It was of the last time Lila was akumatised. She had sent her minions after Marinette and Ladybug. Shame she didn't get to see them torment Marinette she thinks briefly before the blood drained from her face.

There stood Marinette taking down person after person sent her way. They had super strength as her minions. She took Adrian's body gard down too. Full classes of mindcontroled students were unconscious. Marinette intentionally only knocking them out.

"So you see if Marinette intended to harm you, you wouldn't be here to tell us."

Marinette stumbles in at that moment a man following behind.

"No I'm not joining shield leave me alone please I haven't slept any"

“I have an idea for an au, it starts when the class betrays Mari for Lie-la. She gets super upset, happens to be in private when it really hits her what happened, and boom, akuma Mari. Only, idk if canon or fanon, I’ve seen fics where Halkmoth can read the akumas minds, so he finds out she’s lb. he remembers (barely) that she’s friends with Adrien, and has idea of using her passively as an akuma in order to get the black cat miraculous by tricking it out of Chat, and as a bonus, a spy on his son. So the transformation doesn’t happen, she just has an object that she hides. Hon that comment’s basically the AU itself, I love it. Yes. Ok lets see.

We’re gonna start with the fact that the end thing that throws Mari off the deep end is when Adrien berates Mari for yelling at Lila because Lila convinced Alya that Mari was planning on bullying her sisters or something. Adrien was talking all about the “high road” again, which Mari is used to at this point.

In the end, the only thing stopping her from becoming an akuma is Tikki. So Mari gets home and breaks down, and she can hear Tikki’s voice, but she cant understand any of the words because she’s panicking. So she takes out the earrings and screams into her hands. At one point she realizes she’s on her knees in the middle of her bedroom, and I’m gonna say that there’s a stray needle on the floor in front of her, and she accidentally pricks her finger on it, leading her to picking it up, which is exactly the thing Hawkmoth decides to akumatize.

Hawkmoth: Princess Justice. I am Hawk- wait.

Hawkmoth.exe has stopped working.

Hawkmoth: You’re Ladybug?!

And then Marinette’s sitting here being like

Marinette: Uhhh no?

Which is so very convincing, thank you Marinette for your stellar performance. You truly are a master of lies.

But anyways. Their conversation is a bit like

Hawkmoth: I knew you were young, but you’re a child!

Marinette: Rude. Hey buddy, wasn’t there a point to akumatizing me? I’ve got homework to do.

Hawkmoth: Oh yes, of course. As I was saying, I can give you the powers of- wait.

Mari: What is it now?

Hawkmoth: Adrien Agreste is the one who made you feel this way?

Mari: Well yes, but I dont know how that’s relevant.

Hawkmoth: Adrien Agreste has been bullying you?!

Mari: I mean, technically no. He’s just enabling instead. Honestly it could be worse, so I’ll take what I can get.

Hawkmoth: ...

Hawkmoth: I think I have made an error.

Mari: Lol youre telling me. You really should have picked any other job.

Hawkmoth: No I mean with raising my son.

Hawkmoth: Wait-

Mari: Your what.

So Marinette is under the influence of an akuma, which means she’s not thinking straight, but she also has some common sense (like not outing herself as the Guardian or accepting Hawkmoth’s akuma without a fight- or at least a distraction). But come on. She can connect the dots.

So Mari figures out who Hawkmoth is, so now they’re even. Only none of this really matters until they either find Chat Noir or figure out his identity.

So Hawkmoth is like “I’ll make a deal with you,” and Marinette is immediately like “no get out of my head,” but Hawkie manages to stop her and tell her about how he wants to help with Adrien because “that’s his son.”

And Mari has a bleeding heart, so she’s like “fine, but only if you let me be aware of everything and have self-control, and I keep all my memories of this afterwards.” And he’s like “deal.”

So she slips the needle in her purse, along with the earrings, and starts her homework.

Meanwhile, Gabriel Agreste detransforms to wait until tomorrow.

The next day, Mari heads to school like normal, only she knows that someone is watching her every move.

Her day seems normal to her, but to Hawkmoth, it is extremely taxing and eye-opening to what this girl and his son go through daily. He witnesses Lila Rossi dig her nails into his son’s arm and invade his personal space. He watches Marinette be shoved around and bullied because of Lila’s stories. He watches the teacher see all of this an do nothing. The classes continues like this until lunch. Once lunch is over, Marinette is called into the principals office. There, Hawkmoth witnesses Lila crying over her “ruined sketchbook” that “Marinette stole her designs” from. Hawkmoth witnesses Marinette get detention, and have to give Lila her sketchbook (which hits different when he’s also a designer and he knows how personal your designs can be). He watches as after the meeting, Lila rips up the sketchbook in the hallway and throws it away.

He watches as Adrien is a witness to all of this and does nothing.

So yeah, Gabriel is a little upset (read: very upset), and after Marinette gets back to class and sits in the back away from peering eyes, he tells her to talk to Adrien after class about talking to the principal on her behalf. Marinette sighs and agrees, but he can feel the disappointment in her already, which serves to make him more sad.

Blah blah blah, classes end, and Mari goes up to talk to Adrien. They go to a private classroom and she asks him to do what Hawkie suggested. Adrien of course is like “I would if I could, but I know my father would pull me out of school in an instant if he knew I stirred trouble. Plus I’m pretty sure Lila works with him, so he probably wouldnt be too happy if I called her out.” And Hawkmoth can see the disappointment and sadness in his son’s expression, but he can also see the extreme loneliness and fear that his son has.

Because of him.

And Hawkie is like heck no.

So after Mari gets home and starts on her homework, Gabriel immediately has Nathalie cancel Adrien’s next 3 activities and decides he needs to spend time with his son because while he may want his wife back, his son needs him right now.

So throughout the next week, Gabriel Agreste publicly fires Lila Rossi, spends more time with his son, talks to the principal about Lila’s lying and how there’s no such thing as a lying disease what is wrong with you, and decides to meet with Marinette’s parents.

Ok ok that last one seems a bit random, but honestly. Gabriel has been inside Marinette’s head. He knows her emotions. He feels what she feels at school, and that’s not healthy for anyone. So he talks to her parents and explains the situation that his son told him about (which he never did, but they didn’t need to know that), and manages to convince them to sign Mari up to therapy that he will pay for no dont worry about it I have money this literally wont make a dent.

So eventually Gabriel manages to make his son and Marinette’s lives better, but eventually Mari is like “yo, you’re gonna need to release me eventually,” and Gabriel’s like “oh yeah.”

So he comes up with the plan to trick Chat Noir to get the ring, only before he can tell Mari about it, Marinette figures out Chat’s identity.

It’s completely on accident! But one day she’s on her balcony at night talking to Hawkmoth, and she notices Chat Noir on his nightly patrol. Then she watches as the stupid cat lands in an alleyway across the street and detransforms right in front of her what the heck Chat!

And at first she’s in shock, and Hawkmoth is very quiet because he’s also trying to process this, and then suddenly Mari lets off the most inhuman screech, which causes Chat Noir who is now Adrien Agreste to look up and gasp as he realizes what just happened. And then he freaks out when Hawkmoth starts talking to Marinette, which makes a glowing, purple, butterfly shaped mask appear over her face.

So Adrien transforms again and races towards Mari, and she’s internally panicking while also hearing Hawkmoth panic externally, and she’s nervous that Chat Noir is going to fight her now.

And Chat Noir who is Adrien freaking Agreste lands next to her and starts talking to her about fighting off Hawkmoth. And she can only sort of understand what he’s saying because in her head Hawkmoth is screaming about how he’s been fighting his own son and “of course it’s Adrien, who else knows so many puns.”

Eventually Hawkie calms down enough for Mari to think clearly, and now she is able to understand that Adrien thinks she’s being akumatized, and I mean, technically he’s not wrong, but she’s also been akumatized for a week now sooooo.

She manages to calm down the panicking cat long enough to explain the situation to him, and they make an agreement to meet with Hawkmoth in person to talk this out since Mari know’s Hawkie’s identity, and Hawkmoth know’s hers, and they both know Chat’s.

Chat picks up Mari and carries her to the location, where Hawkmoth is standing. The first thing that happens is Hawkmoth recalls the akuma. The second thing is Mari reaching in her purse to take out her earrings, putting them on, and transforming into Ladybug (cue Chat Noir absolutely freaking out because holy guacamole Marinette?! You’re Ladybug?!).

And the third thing to happen is Marinette, aka Ladybug, greeting Hawkmoth with “Agreste.”

And then Chat Noir sits down, puts his head in his hands, and sits there motionless for five minutes.

When he finishes his existential crisis of the week, he stands up, brushes away tears that had escaped, and looked at his father emotionlessly. Ladybug takes this as a sign to start their “meeting.”

Hawkmoth explains his reasoning for this entire thing, which of course Chat understands, and Ladybug grudgingly concedes to (she can understand where he’s coming from even if he used the wrong methods to do it). Ladybug then asks if she can see Emilie Agreste. Even though they should be on edge, Hawkmoth and Ladybug are unusually calm about the entire thing because they’ve shared thoughts and emotions for days. They have an understanding of each other now.

So anyways. In the end, Ladybug is able to heal Mama Agreste because this is an AU so what I say goes, and Adrien has his mom back. Of course, Gabriel gives the butterfly and peacock miraculous to LB, who tells him that she wont take him to the police as long as he donates to many akuma relief programs and spends more time with his son and actually cares for him.

(To conclude, Adrien not only has his mother back, but also his father. Also, Gabriel might sometimes go to Marinette for advice with both parenting and designing, but who’s gonna tell?)

(In the end, it’s Marinette who takes over the Gabriel company, not Adrien.)

Marinette arrives in Gotham sleep deprived again. However fully prepared for the little ball of rage that is 12 year old Damian because you don't spend that much time around Kagami without learning how to handle a sword.

So sleep deprivation and running off of instinct from being a hero and being around Kagami she manages to get the sword away from him before tripping and passing out.

Damian is secretly impressed.

Other than Damian it takes the others a while to realize "wait, I don't know her name. WHEN DID SHE GET HERE?"

Bruce is still clueless.

Marinette enrolls in Gotham Academy. She panics at first because they are much stricter about safety so she's afraid she won't be able to sneak away for akuma attacks.

However by after this many Waynes came through Gotham Academy everyone knows all of them have trauma and dissapear sometimes. Plus Marinette medical sheet states she suffers from anxiety. Thanks Alfred.

"Marinette dear. I can tell it's been a rough day. You don't have to stay at school if you are not up to it. Just check in with the nurse we already called Alfred to come get you." Marinette confused but thankful after 3 akuma attacks and no sleep goes back to the mantion.

After a few weeks Marinette gets tired of the batfam avoiding her and yeets a pillow at redhood. "You better fucking not!" She yell throwing another pillow as he attemptsto get away. "I want sleep so stay right there and listen to me" Redhood stops because wasn't this sunshine girl and that glare is terrifying. "Paris is under attack by a magical terrorist who used butterflies to possess people and if you ignore me like green lantern I will -" some thug tries to attack Marinette who just throws him over her shoulder hard enough to knock him out. "Ask wonder woman about ladybug and black cat miraculous." At that point Marinette storms off and does get sleep that night. While Aquaman, wonderwoman, and batman yell at green lantern.

Now Marinette is aware she can't be a hero in Gotham but if that insane clown doesn't back away from Manon...

"So Batsie if you do-" Marinette tunes the idiot out as she loosens her bindings. Does he think everyone else other than the bats are helpless he didn't even have anyone watching her or a weapon himself. Marinette looks around. Busting out of her binding Marinette rushes forward "close your eyes" Manon obeys. Marinette kicks the man in the face distracting enough to grab the red crow bar on the other side of him. At some point in the fight he ends up back facing Manon. Marinette smirks "kick hard" Manon eyes still closed does right in the crown jewels. This is all on live TV because Joker wanted to send a message to the bats.

Once both are cleared by medical staff Nadja holds Manon and Marinette for dear life while crying.

Marinette tells her it's fine. It was the right thing to do.

"Marinette this is not Paris. There is no Miraculous Cure. You risked you like to save my daughter. I can never thank you enough."

"So why are you in Gotham anyway?"

"I was adopted by Bruce Wayne. You?"

Nadja freezes "your parents?"

"I did not tell them doubt they will notice. They stopped talking to me after Lila convinced them I stole from the register."

"What the hell." Nadja was glad she send Manon to bed before asking.

Marinette shrugs "so why are you here?"

"Working on an article with Louise and Clark kent" Nadija responds

"Oh now that you mention it Jon has been speaking a lot of time at the mantion."

Jason starts calling Marinette Pixie pop after seeing the fight and calls it strangely therapeutic. Nadja destroys Lila. Marinette parents realize Marinette is gone but Nadja informs them she's been adopted.

"No I am not giving you her contact information "

"We are her parents"

"Who abandoned her when she needed you most. If a child is acting out no matter how bad you should try to find out why or what's going on not try to ignore the child. Do you even know half the stuff she went though. Did you know she makes enough money off of commissions to by agrest mantion but she gives it to charity? Do you even know her brand? Did you know she regularly saved people from akuma? " Nadji yells "no you did not know your own daughter. Well she's not yours now."

Gina, Rolland, and Wang all entered the store at the beginning of the argument.

"What happened to Marinette?" A seething Gina asks.

Nadji softens "she decided Paris was not safe for her anymore. I believe she plans to contact you soon"

Luka and Jagged head to Gotham after Lila is exposed. Luka has an internship under Jagged and Jagged wants some time in his home town. Kagami visits Marinette scaring Dick senseless because "he adopted another assassin" Chloe and her mom move to Gotham and open a branch there.

Marinette doesn't know anything has changed in Paris aside from redhood and red Robin arriving to help and a suspicious decrease in akumas.

Marinette was tired. She had been staring at the ceiling for three hours. Picking up her phone an article popped up on the screen. "Bruce Wayne and his adopting addiction"

Sitting up thoughts rushed through her mind.

The waynes interacted with the bat family at least monthly. Would her parents even notice. They hadn't spent much time with her since she was ten. As the years went by the shop took more priority than her more anx more.

So she filled out the papers and sent them in the mail. She had kaalki so she could come back and possibly get help from the batfamly. Be away from lila drama. Be in Jaggeds home town. It all made sense to the sleep deprived teen. That is until she finally got some sleep but by that point the papers were already sent. Not like Bruce Wayne would actually adopt her right?

Bruce sat staring at the adoption papers on his desk for about 30 minutes. "Alfred prepare a room for a 16 year old girl."

It was just a whisper but the fact she was the only one not trying to escape ment everyone was paying attention to her. Then she pulled a pair of red glasses out of her bag. Chloe screamed then ran to the unmoving girls side. A laugh left Marinette's mouth. "You came into my classroom into my territory. " Hawkmoth looked almost amused at the petite girl. "Chloe while I appreciate your help I won't be needing those this time." Marinette states before slinging a desk at Hawkmoth which he barely manages to dodge. "Oh no we can't have that mister target a teenage girl 36 times in a month" another desk is slung and then another successfully trapping himself. "My mentor is gone. All my friends hate me. My crush is being abused by your pawn. Everyone pushes everything on me" A book is thrown making him drop his cane. "And you dared come into my territory. You were right I would have made the perfect akuma. Shame you never figured out how huh. Now sleep deprivation and anger is just as strong as an akuma." Marinette snapped before cartwilling her way over to him yanking off his miraculous and flipping away. Shock echos through the room not that Marinette hears any of it instead opening a window and sliding down a the drainage pipe. The class rushes to the window minus Chloe who is attending to adrian who has passed out. The class watched as Kagami chases Mayura and Marinette face kicks her after she trips on rocks she threw minutes earlier.

The reason she always held back is because she was multi mouse and the cops are not cooperative with the heroes. "

Marinette was tired. She had been staring at the ceiling for three hours. Picking up her phone an article popped up on the screen. "Bruce Wayne and his adopting addiction"

Sitting up thoughts rushed through her mind.

The waynes interacted with the bat family at least monthly. Would her parents even notice. They hadn't spent much time with her since she was ten. As the years went by the shop took more priority than her more anx more.

So she filled out the papers and sent them in the mail. She had kaalki so she could come back and possibly get help from the batfamly. Be away from lila drama. Be in Jaggeds home town. It all made sense to the sleep deprived teen. That is until she finally got some sleep but by that point the papers were already sent. Not like Bruce Wayne would actually adopt her right?

Bruce sat staring at the adoption papers on his desk for about 30 minutes. "Alfred prepare a room for a 16 year old girl."

Summary: When one of his akumas attacks Adrien and one of his classmates, Gabriel Agreste discovers that Marinette Dupain-Cheng would prove a very useful ally against Ladybug and Chat Noir. 

How had he not discovered sooner? But oh well—better late than never. Ladybug will never know what’s coming.

Gabriel Agreste isn’t past admitting his mistakes.

Most of them have involved Adrien, so he supposes that it’s time to pay attention to the trend. And all of those mistakes have involved his growing career as Hawkmoth—and, more specifically, the choices he makes for whom he akumatizes.

Lila Rossi, now known as Princess Perfect—seriously, what the hell was wrong with this girl? He’d given her the liberty of choosing her akuma name, but such a godawful name is a bad reflection on him as well—kicks down the door of the classroom.

He sees it all through Lila’s eyes, like he does with all the akumas. Doesn’t mean he’s particularly happy about the turnout of this particular akumatization.

“What are you doing?” Gabriel demands to her. “I want Ladybug and Chat Noir’s Miraculous! You’re going the wrong way.”

Relax. Lila’s voice drifts into his head. I need to take a little detour.

“What detour—” Oh. Oh, shit.

In the classroom, packing their bags, is his son and that Chinese girl with pigtails—Marinette. The one that Gabriel knows Lila Rossi intensely hates. The one that he doesn’t like either, because for some reason, his son is infatuated with her. It’s Marinette-this, Marinette-that these days, and Adrien just won’t stop gushing about her. Father, look at these designs! They’re Marinette’s. Father, look who’s on the news—it’s Marinette! Father, can you hire Marinette to work at Gabriel Brand?

Marinette, a real headache. Gabriel rubs his temples. Maybe it’s a good thing that Lila’s after her. Better to nip it in the bud before Adrien’s attachment becomes a real problem.

“Fine,” he grounds out to Lila. “But leave Ad—leave the blonde boy alone.”

Already ahead of you, Hawkie.

“Don’t call me that!”

She ignores him in favour of turning to the two victims. Adrien is standing in front of Marinette, arms spread in a protective stance, glaring at the akuma. For a couple moments, nobody speaks.

Then, Marinette, eyebrows furrowing, says, “You’re Lila, aren’t you. Seriously? What is this—your third akumatization? Fourth?”

“My name is Princess Perfect now,” Lila growls back. “Get out of my way, Adrien.”

Marinette literally gags. “Did Hawkmoth choose that name for you?”

“No, I didn’t,” Gabriel seethes. Unfortunately, none of them can hear him.

“Yes, he did,” Lila lies breezily. “But that’s not important. You think you’re such a hot shot, Marinette? You think you can take the spotlight from me without repercussions? I’m going to make sure everyone hates you and loves me, and you’ll learn your lesson for trying to cross me. After all, who can say no to Princess Perfect?”

Gabriel sighs through his nose. Are all teens this dramatic?

Apparently, they are. Betrayal comes from those closest to home, because it’s Adrien that holds up his arms even higher, still staring Lila down. “You’re going to have to go through me if you want to hurt her,” he promises. “Marinette, get out of here! Run!”

Oh, for heaven’s sake—

Two things happen at once. Lila darts towards them, her whip lashing out directly at Adrien. Gabriel swears under his breath—why isn’t Adrien moving out of the way? Why is he so intent on protecting that useless girl? “Lila!” he barks through the bond, but the akumatized girl is too far gone. “Touch him and I’ll make sure—”

Gabriel trails into dumbfounded silence when Marinette shoves Adrien aside, grabs the end of Lila’s whip, and tugs the weapon straight out of the girl’s hands.

“You’ve gone too far,” she growls in a tone so chilly that it even reaches him. “Adrien, get out of here! I can handle her.”

Lila’s own shock lasts for a couple of times before she regains some of her composure. “You?” she sneers. “Handle me? Why, you pathetic—”

Adrien chucks a pencil case at Lila. It hits her cheek, and she whirls on him, enraged. At the same time, Marinette darts away from the window and slides behind the large wooden desk at the front. Gabriel, still watching the scene unfold, scoffs. So for all her big talk, she’s still nothing but a coward.

“Stand down,” he commands Lila once more. “Don’t you dare touch Adrien—what the hell?”

Lila seems to have noticed the source of his bewilderment as well, but it’s far too late. From underneath the desk, Marinette has lifted the thing—the giant, wooden desk—onto her shoulders.

Gabriel’s positive he stops breathing.

Kagami was pissed. Tomoe was pissed and ready to support her daughter and her friend.

Marinette was in a different class in an hour. The principal and Miss. Bustier were in deep trouble. Tomoe did not like that any of it was allowed to happen from what happened with Chloe or Lila. She had highered someone to investigate the school and informed the school board of it and why it was necessary.

Kagami tipped off Aurora who did her own investigation into the Akuma Class. Lila was barely able to keep the class under her illusions. Club presidents were not happy to find out Marinette had not been payed a dime for her work but the club funds for the work were gone. Teachers responsible for the club's quickly got in contact with the parents of the students responsible. Witch lead to the parents discovering that Marinette had taken on a huge chunk of their children's responsibilities. Babysitting, set design, pretty much anything that their parents wouldn't notice right away.

They decide to have their children do chores and get part time jobs to pay her for everything she did since it was clear they spent all the money soon after getting it. Also they were banned from all school events untill further notice because they spent school money. Chloe, Adrian, and Nathaniel are the only ones who were not responsible. The rest of the class believe it is Marinette doing and she is being greedy. Only Marinette has no idea of anything other than having changed classes.

The Akuma class does not listen and Alya gets angry after Marinette continues to refute her claims. Ending with Marinette at the bottom of the stairs surrounded by the rest of the school waiting for the ambulance.

Chloe storms in once the class is gathered back in home room. "YOU ABSOULUTE IDIOTS SHE WAS THE ONLY REASON YOU DO NOT HAVE LAWSUITS A MILE HIGH ON YOUR DESKS"

It was then that they found out Marinette good will kept them out of a lot of trouble. Lila and Alya had a lot of lawsuits. As soon as parents showed up to get their kids someone tries to justify that if Marinette was not greedy this would not have happened. Every parent turned red in the face. "Have you not listened to a thing we said. We were collecting the money to give to her. She had no idea and our willingness to pay her back was what kept you in school. You stole from clubs thus stole school money."

Salty Outcasts

Part 1:

There is going to be a part three then I will most likely write it properly.

Part 2:

- Alix spent the day in utter confusion - on the one hand Marinette was the sweetest person alive, and on the other, Alya had been Marinette’s best friend so surely she was justified by something. But when the screams started she ran as fast as she could watching the Ladyblogger sprint the other way. Where was that girls sense of self preservation?

- Chat arrived on the scene first. He had been eager to get away from Lila.

- Marinette found it a little harder to transform, having to get away from the still bratty, but lacking their usual bite, girl that had decided to cling to her side all day. Not that she wasn’t grateful, she was just a little afraid of what Chloé’s intentions may be.

- The akuma, with a ghastly outfit that hurt the fashion designer’s eyes, blinded those that got in her way. With the help of a lucky charm and a cataclysm, it was defeated quickly. Though Ladybug couldn’t help but wonder if that was due to Chats lack of flirting.

- A couple weeks ago, Chat had told Ladybug that he had a girlfriend and so he would stop flirting but the banter was still there and Marinette couldn’t help but be scared at more change in her life.

- Both heroes were more than a little surprised when Rose didn’t come to comfort Juleka.

- Alya, being who she is, immediately started asking for an interview. Now that Marinette no longer looked at her best-friend-not-forever through rose tinted glasses, she noticed that it was more of a demand than anything.

- Shockingly it was Chat Noir who snapped at Alya, stating that they are not celebrities but are heroes and she is getting in their way to save lives. Alya spluttered our a response but by then LB and Chat were long gone.

- Alya was immediately comforted by Liar Rossi who suggested that Marinette must have lied to Chat Noir after all, she had spotted the alley cat on Marinette’s balcony. Alya immediately called out Marinette for trying to make Adrien jealous.

- On the other side of the city, in the Louvre, Alix was still conflicted, however was snapped out of her thoughts when a portal opened behind her.

- Bunnix was quick to explain that Lila is a Liar and Alix suddenly knew what she had to do. Make it up to Marinette.

- After finding out that Rose had broken up with Juleka because the goth girl had protected Marinette, she had a plan.

- And so the ‘Down With The Liar’ group chat was created. (Named by Alix). First added was Juleka, then Luka. Chloé’s odd personality had not gone unnoticed so she too was added. She insisted on Adrien, Adrikins would never fall for such obvious lies, that would be ridiculous, utterly ridiculous, and he suggested Kagami.

- The class made it clear that Juleka was no longer a friend.

- While the others were plotting the takedown of a liar, Marinette was shopping for the Kwamis, and for some reason that could only be blamed on Plagg’s bad luck affecting Paris, every shop near the bakery seemed to have run out of bananas, much to Xuppu’s annoyance.
