The first time I felt heartbreak, I was newly born. My birth mother relinquished me before we had a chance to meet. But I know in the depths of my subconscious mind, I remember her face, can hear her voice, and remember her pain. || I cannot allow this heartbreak to dictate and shape the rest of my experiences in this life. The way you love yourself yourself sets the standard for how you allow others to love you. It also reflects your ability to give and show love to others. || On my journey, I had to realize that my standards for giving and allowing love were very low. They were low, because I didn’t have the ability to claim, honor, or respect myself. || How did I learn to change? || One day, I had to acknowledge and realize that I deserve love from others and from myself. I had to make a conscious choice to work on healing the source of my self-deprecation and self-hatred. || A lot of it is from being an orphan and adoptee. A lot of it is from other things I internalized as a young person. || But I that don’t have to carry all of those negative experiences and traumas with me forever. I can choose to say NO MORE. I DESERVE BETTER. || I deserve to love myself, and you deserve to love yourself. When we all have higher standards of love for ourselves, it is easier to give and receive love with other people. The way that we discern between Truth and falsehood is by how it feels - in the gut and also the heart. || When you see the things I post, and it makes you feel a sense of lightness, positivity, happiness, calm, or peace, that is your body and mind communicating with your Spirit, confirming it as Truth. || However, sometimes ego can get in the way of this process. Ego is not the Spirit or Soul, it is a part of the human mind. || The ego will make consistent attempts to keep you out of alignment with Spirit, in a state of fear and defensiveness.
