iasip shipping is so fun to me like, yeah i know none of these disasterous people could really make each other happy in their tangled web of mutual abuse but watching charlie and dee bond over being low status and how they jump to bully each other so the gang doesn’t bully them first and encouraging each other’s artistic pursuits “i love making music” “and i love listening to it!” does something stupid to my brain. they thought they were cannibals together! If that’s not love what is

gerard canonico cancelled andrew rannells????
omg ok. if I remember this correctly Andrew was at bwaycon and said something like "love hanging out with these broadway nerds" as a joke and Gerard just went a bit crazy and posted a whole rant and said "cancelled you judgemental fuck" and people were like "...it's not that serious". (I think there's something else too but idk) I say he cancelled Andrew mostly as a joke but Gerard has done some other crazy stuff, my favorite of which I will put below
space jam inflation art
cancelled you judgemental fuck

Can someone fill me in on why we hate Steven Sater? Like he gives me weird vibes and he writes women badly but is there another reason

1) yeah I saw that from Remy Zaken’s insta! Ew.
2) I’ve read the play, so I noticed the thing about him giving a lot of Moritz’s lines to Melchior...how do we know it was because of insecurity? I personally HC Moritz as bi and genderqueer in some way (mostly from stuff in the play) but I never saw Sater comment on it. I’m not questioning your knowledge I’ve just never see anything about it.

How Spring Awakening characters would react to you asking their pronouns bc I have been ranting a lot lately ❤️
Melchior: I’m not gay
Moritz: That’s funny I asked myself the same question this morning
Wendla: She/her ❤️💕✨
Ilse: Surprise me
Hanschen: Yup, sure.
Ernst: I’m Ernst 🙂
Georg: Wait are you saying I can be anti-noun? Because I want to be that!
Otto: The boy ones
Anna: I’m a girl 🥰
Martha: She/They, what are yours?
Thea: None, don’t refer to me. Learn your place.
Robert: Gender is a construct. Fuck the system.

guys something so ironic to me is that melchior from sa is like such an atheist and thinks the church is stupid and doesn't believe in god and shames people for believing in god yet melchior was literally the name of one of the three wise men

Musicals reviewed by someone who knows absolutely nothing about musical theater
Newsies: Yes that 30 year old man is definitely a 17 year old boy
Dear Evan Hansen: Wait did he really just use the death of her brother to get in her pants?
Be More Chill: oh my god we get it he masturbates
Heathers: don’t you just hate it when your boyfriend turns out to be a sociopath
Mean Girls: It’s literally Heather’s but less blood and a hotter villain
Legally Blonde: the only musical ever I do not take criticism
Phantom of the Opera: Dramatic ass bitches the musical
Hamilton: absolutely not, this musical fills me with rage and I cannot explain why
Spring Awakening: don’t have sex, because you will get pregnant and die
Beetlejuice: oh my god we get it they’re dead
Les Miserables: hon hon hon oui oui baguette also I guess there’s a revolution? I don’t know I’ve never seen it
Wicked: Wizard of Oz but Lesbian flavored
Into The Woods: oh my god we get it they’re in the woods
Waitress: there is no joke it’s a lovely show highly recommend
Fun Home: Daddy issues but lesbian flavored
Hairspray: am I the only one who thinks the way Link talks about her is kinda weird???
Six: Hamilton wishes it had what this has
Little Shop of Horrors: I cannot belive this show ends with all of the main characters getting vored
Shrek: literally no one asked for this but it somehow exceeds all expectations
Sweeney Todd: the music is honestly great but we need to talk about how bad the blood looks in the movie oh my god
West Side Story: I can’t think about this without thinking about “POISON BOOTS” also holy shit the percussion in this show deserves its own production
Frozen: I am not and will never be emotionally prepared for Frozen 2 the musical please don’t make me

me: ernst doesn't show feminine traits. the chorus of touch me was given to him just because he's gay and the writers turned him into a stereotypical passive gay boy, but wouldn't it make sense if it was given to moritz?? the girls say things like angels, heaven, bethlehem, christ, because they have been educated by the church and the next song is about melchior and all they boys are reciting in latin because they acquire their knowledge from school, so there's already a division on what it means to grow as a girl and a boy, and melchior says things like history, science, name the stars, and their bible, he takes a skeptical position, and then moritz sings and says things like god, angel, AND latin, he uses words from both genders and in the og play he also compares himself to a headless queen and enjoys the idea of being a woman and is suicidal because "there is something shameful in growing up a to be a man without having learned the chief function of masculinity" meaning that he feels that he failed at being a conventional man, and we could say it is because of toxic masculinity but it actually affected moritz more than anyone, melchior says to him "you're like a girl" to which he doesn't-
my brain: please stop analysing these lyrics they're not that deep
me:
me: aRE YOU THEN SUGGESTING THERE IS NO FURTHER ROOM FOR CRITICAL THOUGHT OR INTERPRETATION? WHY DO WE EVEN-
