Struggling musician Eddie Munson’s bad boy image is threatening his career, and his label gives him an ultimatum clean up his act or lose everything. Meanwhile, Steve’s acting career is done he’s too old, too washed up, and no one wants him anymore.

Side note

After receiving a call from his agent, Maury, telling him he's dropping him, and seeing his ex-fiancée's damaging comments in the magazines, Steve decides to get completely wasted. At the bar, he spots Eddie causing a scene, and the owner threatens to call the police. Feeling bad because him and Eddie are on the same magazine’s getting trashed and can sympathize with Eddie,.Steve offers to pay for the damage and walks Eddie home.

A couple of days later, Steve is woken up by loud banging on his door. He expects it to be the landlord , but instead, it's Dustin and Max his Next door neighbors, bursting in with a magazine in hand. "Steve, why didn’t you tell us you were dating Eddie Munson?" Max exclaims, shoving the magazine in his face. Dustin chimes in, "You know Corroded Coffin is my favorite band! How could you not say anything?" Steve's confused, and he takes the magazine from Max. The cover story reads "Eddie Munson and Steve's Steamy Romance" with a photo of Eddie's arms wrapped around Steve struggles to walk him home. The article includes his ex-fiancée's comments, claiming she always knew he was gay.

As Steve tries to explain the situation, his phone rings. Dustin cries out, "Is that Eddie?" Steve answers the phone, and Maury's voice is on the other end. "Hey, there's my favorite client," Maury says. Steve reminds him, "You fired me, remember?" Maury replies, "You didn’t tell me you were dating Eddie Munson, the lead singer of Corroded Coffin. This is huge, Steve! I could work with this. This will get you jobs." Steve tries to clarify, "We're not dating. I was just helping him get to his apartment." Maury's tone turns persuasive. "It's perfect. We'll spin a PR relationship. Eddie's been having a hard time, and you've been having a hard time. Everyone loves celebrity couples."

Also Steve is not interested in a relationship he's been hurt too many times and has trust issues. He tells Eddie he can hook up with other people, but he has to be discreet about it.(which I don’t think he would) There's also an age gap between them - Steve is in his late 30s, and Eddie is in his late 20s. Eddie used to watch Steve on tv when he was in teen drama shows (like Dawson's Creek or 90210) back in the day, despite not being a fan of the genre, just because Steve was in them.
