the only thing preventing me from becoming absolutely obsessed with soulsborne type games to an unhealthy degree is the fact that i am absolute dogshit at them

to be fair, i knew nothing about this game; i saw it on the shelf, it looked cool, later i saw some cool art online and went back to buy it

booting it up i read the warnings and was like, eh, i'll be fine!

i was not

but that's oke!! i did need a good cry, and from what ive seen of it today, it is a very good game! i will just definitely take it at a slow pace if needed! we'll see how the story progresses

In Wess' death, she doesn't really feel sad. Disappointed? Maybe. Sorry? definitely. But not sad. After all, they were already living on borrowed time.

Dying sort of feels like falling, though maybe that is because he's literally falling, towards the ground. A split second, stretching out to eternity. 

Wess thinks about his life, at 42 years of age, they're basically still a child. She was still trying to figure himself out, having no real responsibilities outside of what her family expected. They've barely accomplished anything. And now? Now she's dying while trying to save a random child from near certain death. It hopes the others succeed. A life for a life. That may not be the worst trade after all.

Despite everything, the past four days in this land were some of the better ones she's had. In this land she did feel some sort of purpose, however vague that was. People asked him and the rest of the party for help. She gave him some power, and Madame Eva told them that they would defeat the evil in the land. Or at least, that their party would. 

The lady, or at least someone who works for Her, gave the indication that Wess would do real tangible good. However, contrasting that with being told they would have to 'defeat Flynn' was quite disconcerting.

Flynn deserves better than Wess keeping this a secret, but telling him, and making a decision, would have killed it. Maybe, in that point of view, Wess is glad to be dying, at least when dead they would not have to deal with that complexity. 

Wess is falling. 

But maybe, this time, not for long, she is quite short after all. And hopefully at the bottom, he would meet her again. They hope that, when he lands, she will be proud of them. Despite everything.

I can finally share this one without it being all that spoilery (tho, like, it wouldn't have been that hard to guess...¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The loss of Wess is finally actually starting to register and settle, i did make this my phone background for the time being, cz i am now just like actually sad for them

also i finally put all those years of beta reading to the test to see if i could write a little thing myself, tho, this was like, HOT off of the end of that session, so it is still kinda messy, cuz there were a lot of emotions...
