EVENT DESCRIPTION

On June 1, 2013, the annual Scion Rock Fest will be held in Memphis, Tennessee. Once again, the event will bring together 32 metal bands to play at multiple venues throughout the day. The lineup covers the full spectrum of legends, the genre's current top acts and emerging talent.

Retail Ticket Pick-Up: If you choose a retail location for ticket pick-up, please bring the confirmation e-mail you receive after RSVPing along with valid ID for proof of identity and age to the retail location you selected. You can pick up your ticket starting Monday, May 6th, 2013. All tickets must be picked up from the retailer you select no later than store closing on Monday, May 20th, 2013. Any tickets not picked up by store closing on Monday, May 20th, 2013 will no longer be available and your RSVP will be void.

Will Call Ticket Pick-Up: If you choose Will Call for ticket pick-up, please bring the confirmation e-mail you receive after RSVPing along with valid ID for proof of identity and age to the Will Call location on Saturday, June 1st, 2013. Will Call opens at 1:00 p.m. and will be located at Handy Park on Beale St. between 3rd St. and Handy Circle.

*Free admission with ticket.  Maximum one (1) ticket per person.  Must be 21+ to gain entry to Club 152.  Must be 18+ to gain entry to Band Box.  All ages are welcome at New Daisy Theater and Hard Rock.  Early arrival is suggested as space is limited. Entry is NOT guaranteed. Line up subject to change.

A Life Once Lost to play Scion Rock Fest

The Scion Rock Fest has announced its full lineup. Scheduled for June 1, 2013, in Memphis, Tennessee, previously announced groups including Melvins, Municipal Waste and Pallbearer are joined by 17 additional acts including co-headliner Testament, plus Corrosion of Conformity, Whitechapel, Negative Approach and many more.

As always, Scion Rock Fest is a free event, but you must RSVP to attend. The RSVP will open on April 10, 2013, at theScion AV website.

"1. A Life Once Lost

Metal Wreckage Showcase at the Sixth Lounge Rooftop

Before this performance was even two songs in, I text my friend, “Dude, A Life Once Lost got awesome!” I first saw A Life Once Lost in 2006 at Ozzfest, and when I did I saw a completely different band. Since then the band took a completely different direction to both their music and their stage presence. Douglas Sabolick’s guitar work would be so easy to get lost in if it weren’t for vocalist Robert Meadows being such a fantastic madman of a front man. Meadows was was all over the place. He shared the mic with fans during the band’s closing number, even having a fan join him on stage (by force), he stood on Jordan Crouse’s bass drum and hung from what little cover the awning provided, and this served as foreshadowing as Meadows later scaled that awning and stood over half of the audience and screamed from atop  Austin. In short, the man (and the band overall) put on a hell of a show!
