its so hard to believe this is my only drawing of her. girl so important to the narrative and yet known so little about that even i forget about her

thinking about mica and dani. they were really each other's everything, even after dani's death and through the centuries of the timeloop where mica had to live without her, dani was what kept her going. along with altair, her brother and mica's very best friend, but after two loops (which last for five years, so instead of a typical time loop that lasts for like a day, it's just. you live for five years trying to grow past the trauma of such a core member of a friend group, and suddenly you're sent back to the day of her death, every five years.) it was just. hard to keep things normal without her around. the banter can never be the same when they realize so much of their friend group revolved around everyone's love for her.

mura loved her for her artistry and talent in theater, and they had some really heavy bonding moments through that dynamic, mura in the spotlight and dani his biggest fan and the way his presence always inspired her stories.

mica loved her for showing her that her life didn't have to be her responsibilities and her home, that she could live for herself and her friends and what she loved to do and believed in.

altair loved her for just being his sister. being the first one he ever came out to as trans, and how she immediately provided for him- both with the safety of being fully known and accepted, but also for his dysphoria, sneaking out of the house together before their parents would get home to get him new clothes, sitting in her room together as they brainstormed a new name for him, and just took care of him. loved him in a way he never thought possible.

dani cared for them all so, so much, and with her gone, the trauma of the loop, and the way they all changed in horrible ways just trying to escape it, she never truly becomes known to the reader in the story. dani is a concept in the plot. she is what everyone else saw in her, and she is everyone's love for her. and it is the one real tragedy that walker has. everyone grows apart from the trauma, they find new community, they heal, they grow old, and they die. and the only tragedy is that she never got the privilege to do the same, but without her death, neither would anyone else.

mica would name her cat something very unhinged. anywhere from like toe to shmunguss (/ref) to like The Killer. just not something you would name your cat.

Dani would give her cat a male human name it does not matter what kind of cat or what it looks like. That's James. that's ricky. that's davey.

togetherrr...they would want to find a mix between it i think because they would debate for hours on the name if it was left up to just one of them to name it. Creaky Craig would probably be the winner

this heavily depends on the appearance of the cat for both of them. but im imagining mura would have an orange cat and altair would have a very large big brown tabby. mura’s would be named like. something food related. cornflake or like fishie. Altair would name it Sea Urchin Fur Extravaganza and its nickname would be joe which is the only thing anyone calls it. their cat together would be the tiniest white fluffball ever named like atom but everyone hears it as adam so its both atom and adam
