why was it only today that i realized being a trivia nerd and/or fan theorist is literally just the path to becoming a historian
#alt0.text#i am not a historian. but.#these skills could help you so much couldn't they. like#literally the stuff done by fan theorists is just what historians and similar professions do#except those professions get PAID#another point to add to my original oratory i did last year in late 2024 about why consuming fictional media is more helpful than you think

Gojo Satoru is an ESTP (and also, sensing is pretty cool actually)
Even after the manga has ended and whatever, I’m going to die on this hill of this theory I made one night at 3 am because it makes sense. I haven’t seen a lot defending this type, but I know that those thousands of votes typing our blue-eyed Se-dom king? I’m here to prove them all wrong. Sensing? Our golden little intuitive boy? It makes me sad to see sensing being so undesirable in spaces to discuss MBTI because sensors have so much potential. Since ENTPs and ESTPs are extremely similar, I won’t be arguing for Ti or Fe. But from my time gathering experiences from my good friends who use Se, I can tell you very clearly that Gojo Satoru is an ESTP.
Gojo S(e)atoru
You know what ESTPs and Gojo has in common? Dominant Se. (For those unaware, an ESTP’s stack goes as follows — Se-dominant, Ti-auxiliary, Fe-tertiary, Ni-inferior) This is pretty obvious throughout JJK, as he’s very physical. When he’s talking with his friends or students, he’s always doing something with his body. (An example that always stuck out to me was that one panel in Hidden Inventory when Shoko’s trying on his glasses. It looks like it's an unconscious movement, which is largely what the dominant function acts like in the real world. You don't normally notice it because it comes so naturally to you.)
Even in the anime, where he does all those goofy movements and spins. He’s always interacting with his environment with his body, unconsciously or not. That’s Se showing itself through the expression of the tangible, physical world, where he always has to be moving or doing something with his body. He's interacting to the external world fluidly and largely without noticing. Obviously, this thought would apply to Gojo’s fighting as well. I would comment on his fighting style a little more, but keep in mind it’s been a hot minute since I’ve read the manga. He just kind of…stands there, but is that really all he’s doing, though? Gojo’s observing his environment, taking in every sensory detail, which gets interpreted by Ni. These observations get filterd by Ti, whether they are useful to the current situation or not. The way he looks upon these battles and situations, he learns really fast by looking at his opponents. It’s all intuitive, which it should be, but the process itself isn’t. Gojo has this trend of “learning by doing”, which I think is really demonstrated by his techniques. Gojo’s techniques develop throughout the Hidden Inventory arc after his awakening and painstaking experiments for Infinity, Red, Blue and Purple. While this can read as Ne, curiosity isn’t just limited to intuitives. (For that matter, it shouldn’t be limited to anyone, but that’s just me.) This experimentation, from whatever description we got in the anime and manga, is very trial-and-error. Working to get results over and over so whatever concepts he has brewing about his techniques gets embellished and more importantly, used practically. Sounds a little like something we know? That’s right, Se.
Not to mention, his attention for detail and love of new experiences. Se is about feeling everything in the world, doing every experience possible and trying everything one can do before collapsing. (This is kind of like Ne’s love of experiencing new ideas, but this is more abstract.) Gojo is actually pretty worldly. Though he acts ditzy, he’s observant. He’s not a head-in-the-clouds type like so many extroverted intuition users are. Like, imagine running to save your student from the potential King of Curses reincarnated past the blur of the city, and then you remember this sweets shop you found a couple blocks back, and then you run back to buy some. (I'm saying it a ton, but...extroverted sensing??!)
But maybe most importantly, there’s the Six Eyes. They’re pretty, powerful and extroverted sensing incarnate. (I mean, it spells out SE, too.) Quite literally, actually, since everything conceiveable is seen in the Six Eyes user’s surroundings. Everything in the extroverted world being taken in and streamlined into his perception. Six Eyes is basically Se-Ni’s process just on magic steroids, probably.
Why Gojo doesn’t use Ne.
“Hey Yubie, wait! Gojo’s a total Ne-dom because of his dream of changing Jujutsu society! That’s pretty intuitive, right?”
Uh, actually…
If anything, I would argue it’s his Ni. Sure, it’s inferior, but that doesn’t mean he abstains from using it. Actually, I think it’s Geto’s effect on Gojo that develops his Ni.
Let’s take the beginning of the Hidden Inventory arc as an example. Gojo’s cocky, pretty rash, has a big mouth. It’s an effect from his underdeveloped Fe and Ni (Inferior Ni makes him act before he speaks a little more than is socially appropriate on occasion), due to the fact that he’s probably right. Yes, he sees what’s wrong with the Jujutsu society, but he has this acceptance that this is just the world he lives in through his disgust of morality and icky stuff like that. Would he like to change it, if at all possible? Sure, why not? He just doesn’t see it as something to spend concentrated time or thought on, as we know that he could totally overrun the society with his power alone. As Geto acts as a foil to this, Gojo learns to develop his Ni through his friend, especially through Geto’s downfall. (I’d also say he’s a classic INFJ falling into an unhealthy Ni spiral.) Fast forward to the main events of JJK, and he’s changed. So, what happened? With his Ni creating this main objective, strung together by everything he’s observed and seen as the One True Path and his Se, streamlining this process into something tangible he could do, you could see becoming a teacher as a practical, small solution to what he wants to do for the world. It’s development where he's starting to see the world for what it can be, than for what it is.
A small point I have is that Ne is focused on what-ifs and intellectual exchanges of ideas with other people. That’s just something I don’t see in Gojo? From what I watched of the anime and manga, he doesn’t seem like the type of guy to care about theory in the place of practical application, or debate for the sake of learning and exchanging information. (He probably debates for the sake of making people cry.)
The End (finally)
I guess what I’m trying to say is, I don’t see what’s so bad with sensors. I don’t see why MBTI should define so much of your personality when it really just explains how you process the world. And most of all, how very angry I was when I saw the typing for Gojo Satoru, lol. Hopefully, this changes some people’s mind about his very inaccurate type because as much as I would love to consider him as one of our own, he makes so much more sense as an ESTP.
#i don't know anything about jujutsu kaisen but i read this lmao#hi friend#wait is this my first post??? wow way to make an impression on everyone. good job alt#everyone say good job alt for reblogging the most random thing as their first post#mbti#reblog
