Molly tucked her hands under her arms, holding herself tight. Will had been doing better. had been having fewer nightmares, and then he had been called on a case. She had told him not to go... had made a crack about how if she got this particular call, her self pity and sorrow would only last as long as it took for her to turn on a heating blanket on his side of the bed. 

It had been a cruel thing to say, and something she regretted. Particularly if those were to be some of the last words she spoke to Will. She loved him. She should have parted ways with him on that note. 

“Will is a fighter. If you can live though Mason Verger and Hannibal Lecter... who ever took him doesn’t know what they’re in for.” She sighed untucking one hand to run it though her hair “I’ll tell Josh when I have something solid. Until then... what can I do? I know you asked me that, but it’s not like I’m going to be knitting handkerchiefs or something... I... I need to keep busy. I need to... to help”

Clarice hesitated, knowing that Molly deserved the unvarnished truth, that she deserved to be able to prepare. But, all she had was speculation. She took a deep, steadying breath and then sighed. “It is very likely that he, like the other victims, will appear within the next week or so, displayed somewhere within Mark Twain National Forest. Will is a survivor, a fighter, so he may find a way out or overpower his captor but it is…highly probable that he will not come home and you should be prepared for that possibility.”
