for the augusta public library eames chairity auction. 

number 2 in the seasons series. this is summer!

custom designed eames era-style cotton canvas fused to 4 vintage herman miller fiberglass chairs. autumn & winter will come later this week.

*i have since used my "eames seasons" pattern design in other applications such as notecards, silk scarves, bookmarks, and pillowcases.

for the augusta public library eames chairity auction. 

i was selected to treat a set of 4 vintage herman miller fiberglass chairs, as a fundraiser for the augusta public library system. because i am an avid collector of mid-century modern, this was an exciting project for me!

i decided to design 4 eames era-style fabrics and have them printed on cotton canvas which i then fused to the backs of the fiberglass chairs. each of the fabric designs represents a season. this one is spring! i'll post more throughout the weekend. 

i really wanted to take these chairs home with me, but they ended up being auctioned for $750, with all funds going to the augusta public library! i have since used my "eames seasons" pattern design in other applications such as notecards, silk scarves, bookmarks, and pillowcases.

for #octane. 

i was commissioned to design a limited edition letterpress poster, which was given as a christmas gift to the staff of octane coffee company. i had SO much fun designing this!

my idea was to visually represent the primary octane locations (westside and grant park) on a poster that could be flipped over. the grant park location brews V60 (left-middle), and the westside location brews french press (right upper-middle).

only 75 of these were printed, and they were signed and hand-numbered.

calendar series: march - a couple of detail shots from a show poster i made for efterklang when they played in atlanta at the earl. i'm doing a show poster every month, and at the end of the year they will be spiral bound as a calendar! * note: as further evidence of what a nerd i am, i spent way too much money on zadie, because i wanted a danish typeface to fit with this danish band.

SITE LAUNCH! I have had the pleasure of working with some of the most fab clients ever: awaken:AVEDA salon & spa!

awaken is based in Bonaire, Georgia (on the edge of Warner Robins), and I was already familiar with their stellar work before finding myself as their new website designer.

Now I won't have ANYone touch my hair unless it's the expert hands of Christie. I've also been worked on by their amazing masseuse, Jennie (THE BEST MASSAGE I'VE EVER HAD!) They are definitely worth the quick 1.5 hour jaunt from Atlanta to Warner Robins. Their prices are so reasonable, I've splurged on hair product every time I make a visit, and Cade, the owner of awaken:AVEDA, is a great guy - he believes so much in a holistic TEAM approach, that he won't allow clients to tip - everyone gets paid fairly because they all contribute to the awaken experience. Finch & Willow Standard Ink Color Library *COMPLETE!* (Finally!) This took a while, and it involved multiple screen calibrations, Process test prints, a new Pantone Color Bridge Guide, Envelope color matching, and web color matching!

Here it is looking nice and simple. The colors all have PMS, CMYK, & Hexadecimal "equivalents," and even their own F&W Color code and descriptive names.

Loving this photo, as I edit the Keating/Apen wedding. The bride has just put her dress on, and her sister - the Matron of Honor - is taking it all in and tearing up. Even as I was focusing in on the bride's necklace being put on, I could see the emotion in my peripheral, and that *always* makes me tear up too! :')

So...I made a wedding dress (!!!) for a favorite friend & client, Jenny.

This was an enormous & complicated task, but now that it's finished I can look back at it and say I'm glad I did it (and I even had fun!). Strangely this is often how I feel after I have coded a website. Not exactly fun times when you're in the nitty-gritty of it, but afterwards you feel so accomplished! I think that's one of the beautiful things in life that I most appreciate: Hard work & creativity go hand in hand.
