#I think that she loves Katerina#but she doesn't know how to get her kid to behave like how she wants.#She doesn't understand Katerina#nor does she even attempt to try.#“Mixed Feelings” aren't on here sadly#but she's a slightly-lower-than-average mother for her time#and an average aristocratic mother for the time#so I put 'yes'.#I would probably say “maybe not” for the game though. AO3 👏 TAGS 👏 ARE 👏 NOT 👏 SPOILERS 👏
i’m so tired of authors not tagging correctly because they don’t want to “spoil the fic”
correctly tagging your fic allows readers who DON’T want to read things like major character death, gore, mpreg or whatever may be their squick to filter your fic out from the main ship/fandom tag. not including the correct tags on your fic is harmful to readers and i’m tired of pretending it’s not.
“don’t like don’t read” great! i won’t! tag your fic correctly next time ffs
#gotta keep things in mind for when I eventually start doing things for Ao3#quick access#I kinda think people often use Ao3 tag similar to Tumblr tags#where relavant stuff is in there yes#but also just author thoughts or ramblings too since the author (myself included) just gets so excited about what they've done in their fics#that it often leads into spoilers because of the specificities#so you can warn others about the content in your fanfic (ex: major character death)#but maybe don't tell them which character dies?#I know this doesn't completely solve the problem since maybe the one character you didn't want to die and you cared about does die#which the tags didn't warn you of#but maybe it could help if you're REALLY stingy about wanting to keep the fic spoiler free but still give adequate warnings

There's a reason in the mental hospital they block the news channels! It fucks people up! People find the world so damaged, future so hopeless, and situations so overwhelming they literally kill themselves!
Yes, yes, the activism guilt-tripping is supposed to be for those who simply don't care, but the disabled people who do care are the ones who wind up feeling guilty!

No, it's a privilege to be able to pay attention to politics without having to be literally hospitalized.

Wrong. You need all of us who are ABLE to start paying attention.
Do what it takes to survive.
They are asking you to join in a 70-mile hike up a mountain, where in order to win, as many people as possible must reach the top as quickly as possible! But you are in excruciating pain and have no legs! There is no accessible way up the mountain! In trying to climb the mountain, you will cause yourself irreparable harm and likely death! You feel bad, you're letting everyone down, you can't keep up, you're about to fall, but your friend is saying "hey, I get it, sometimes my legs get super sore, but you have to keep climbing! It's our duty! Keep going! The only way to save everyone is if we do this together!"
They DON'T get it. Even if they say "well I know so-and-so who also has no legs and he just uses his arm-strength and he's at the top already, what if I carry you for a few steps until you have your strength back?" You're not him! He's clearly aquired tools and strengthened muscles you have not, and might never be able to! Only YOU know what you can handle. Do not fall to your death because you feel guilty!

#as someone who can get super upset about the state of the world and society in general along with those kinda-sucky#“reblog if you care/if you're not transphobic/queerphobic” chain letters#I can unfortunately relate.#At the very least I was able to stay generally informed about things through my super-cool and intelligent school friends and that was that#but recently (probably not helped with my current lack-of-socialization from living atop a mountain in Winter)#it feels like there's so much more awful things in the world now or that I'm seeing it more often#and with an EXTREMELY right-leaning Grandpa who watches the news and is practically fully deaf and already hard to communicate with#who constantly watches trash news and thinks it's a good thing (not bringing up specific examples because of reasons haha)#it's so easy to get caught up in it and feel entirely drmotivated from life. Thankfully I can hide in my bedroom#but hiding from a blog I was just browsing and spam-liking is different.#You hit a post with distressing political news that you were trying to distance yourself from in the first place#and it demands a reblog to prove you're not scum of the earth.#If you were just spam-liking but suddenly skip this one will the blogger notice?#If they do will they think less of a person they've only seen interact indirectly to them? It's so much harder to shut out recently...#anyways#yeah#good post and definitely something I needed to see I think
