Artstudi 160 Google Street View Meizi Li

I was searching on google street view about the dorm that I was applying to live in at Stanford. However the view I got completely disappointed me when I first found it on google:

It was described in the housing website that this was supposed to be a high end premium studio in a brand new apartment complex. I double checked 5 five times that I didn’t input the wrong address. The Only things I saw were some flat and old single storey multiplex sitting along the side way of the Comstock circle. The view of them are mostly blocked by some bushes and trees. If there were not those cars in the parking spaces. I would not consider the area as anything related to a dorm.

I went instead of google image and just typed in the building name. And here is what I saw:

wow, something completely different. A total transformation of a living from small village to big city life.

I had to zoomed in the building name carved on the outer wall to make sure this is the authentic dorm that is right there waiting for me to move in.

My guess back then was of course the google street view only gave me an old snapshot of the street proble many years ago. It is until today that I finally noticed the date that the view was recorded was in 2008.

However when I arrived in person, I had to say that the real view was just as different from the first picture as to the second one. The picture that I found on google image was like a commercial grade thing that only put in the blue sky as a peaceful background. In reality, the building was surrounded by a huge amount of cars and bicycles and students walking in and out. When I first got there , there were some time that I actually wished the place could have been the 2008 scene. At least that looked not as chaotic.
