Adding my two cents to this(I'm so sorry Nora, I know you just want this to end, but I'm like. So done): Realistically speaking, telling someone to just not take a flight doesn't do anything. If not Nora, someone else will take the seat, if not, that seat will remain empty but the flight will still take off. That being said, let's talk about "individual action". I think I applaud your sentiments. I do believe people need to be more conscious of the environment. I just think there's much better, more importantly platforms where these concerns need to be verbalized, take for example, lobbying for policy changes, change.org petitions etc., to make airlines reduce the number of flights per hour or per day, in average. As an individual, your capacity for action is stuck to almost none in this scenario. Irrespective of whatever choice you make, the harm is still being done to the environment and the only viable means of creating that change has to be through policies being made and airlines ACTUALLY sticking to these policies. Harping on a single individual to not take a flight is like. The least helpful thing one can manage lol. I mean you do you anon, I think your concerns are valid, and need to be pointed in the right direction. And that's not at Nora taking a flight😭

actually the impact that flying has on the environment still gets hugely underestimated. in terms of individual action, that is basically the one thing that really really matters, much more so than any other lifestyle choices.

obviously there are many reasons why we often do have to fly, realistically.

but if it's a flight that you neither have to take nor are even fully sure if you WANT to take... feel like that's the exact moment where this should become a factor in your decision making
