Perform scheduled server maintenance     activities, including server activities such as patching, replacing failed     hardware, and expanding file systems (many activities occur after normal     business hours).
Plan and coordinate firmware upgrades     on server components with vendors.
Update hardware, operating systems,     and software as needed to provide required functionality and security.
Maintain server operational,     configuration, or other procedures and documentation.
Perform ongoing server performance     tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.  Configure CPU, memory, and disk     partitions as required.

Key Responsibilities
Release Schedule to supplier’s, based on customer forecasts and plans.
Proactively liaison with all Customers’ to timely receive volume forecasts and Daily/Monthly plans, analyze and seek clarification if necessary.
Interact on a regular basis with all supplier’s, to receive/provide inputs to bring about improvements in supply chain management, maintain cordial relationship at all times.
Provide feedback to customer’s, internal management on issues/deviations faced with supplier’s/supply of parts on a regular basis, and based on need visit supplier’s, and take timely corrective, preventive actions.
Ensure timely availability of materials at the plant for smooth running of production.
Monitor and report supplier delivery and quality performance and advise supplier’s to take timely corrective/preventative measures.
Work closely with supplier’s to implement returnable packaging from time to time, based on need, and also escalate, seek support from customer’s, internal management for implementation.
Monitor and control inventory to improve inventory turns, adjust inventory based on volume fluctuations from time to time, analyze and take necessary corrective and preventive actions.
Knowledge of PFEP (Plan for every part), ORACLE R12 MRP and thorough understanding of value stream mapping to reduce lead time and follow lean principles.
Knowledge of various manufacturing processes such as casting, forging, heat treatment, machining and assembly.
Ensure ZERO customer line disturbances by way of timely delivery of axles, parts and by maintaining desired inventory levels of finished goods at plant and at customer locations.
Adhere strictly to all requirements such as SOX controls, Material reconciliation with customer’s and supplier’s, Scrap parts management and RTV etc.
Interact constantly with sourcing team at corporate to escalate, obtain feedback on any commercial issues with supplier’s that may affect material supplies to plant or interact with customer’s sourcing team ,if quality of products supplied are not meeting requirements.
Adhere to all purchasing policies and procedures which may be subject to revisions from time to time.
Provide data pertaining to inventory forecast etc and other reports to finance from time to time and as per need.
Negotiate and procure indirect material and services as per Policy.
Generate and Provide cost savings ideas (Productivity Improvement Programs) to meet budgets.
Manage freight cost’s as applicable and liaison with vendor’s to improve efficiency, cut costs.
