Suddenly I find there might be far too many hurdles Don’t want to say a word, don’t want to make other people nervous Everybody’s going through a hard time at the moment I just hope that I don’t fall, I don’t think anyone would notice

I had a dream last night, we were swimming lengths The waters got too deep for my personal strengths Struggle to keep up, only so much I can take No-one notices I’m under, Its too late

I’m afraid of the weights I try to carry on my shoulders A donkey made to carry boulder after boulder As I get older I find these issues stacking on my own back  In bottling up all these things I thought would pass

I don’t think this can last Bottles fragile, transparent Its made of glass If I keep spinning bottles  Somethings gonna crack Somethings gonna crack

Suddenly I find there might be far too many hurdles Don’t want to say a word, don’t want to make other people nervous Everybody’s going through a hard time at the moment I just hope that I don’t fall, I don’t think anyone would notice

As I put pen to paper, I feel release inside Thought life would get breezier as my laces got easier to tie How wrong was I, In thinking I’d soon learn to fly

Instead I’m snowed under by these paths I didn’t choose They say shit comes in threes, I’d say more like twenty-twos And now I’m left with nothing but these knots to untangle in my shoes

Let me rip up the floorboards

Throw everything out to forget

Build up a room with four white walls

Let the colour out of this head. 

Can I have nothing but space

Unlimited pages and pen

Just let me scribble down every last letter

If the weather would work out my problems

The sun could soak up regret

All clouds should swell up every last tear drop

Wash out an ocean of dread

Only a sky can clear up this mess. 

Hiding under high ceilings

Fighting panes of the windows for breath

Lets have no deadlines or feelings

And when we will find a meaning

Through unlimited pages and pen

Can I have one moment completely for me

Trapping these thoughts on paper

Shading in fear and neglect

I stay inside and what I may find;

that a rainbow doesn't end
