My hot take of the evening: I think they should have let Nyota and Erica smooch instead of giving Erica a brother out of no where
#strange new worlds spoilers#snw spoilers#wedding bell blues#I also wish Erica was just focused on more in general in this episode#I was really hoping that her injuries in the previous ep would mean more#I mean it does seem like they’re building up to an Erica focused side plot which I’m excited about but I’m still overall underwhelmed#La’an has been slaying tho good for her#feels like they’re beating a dead horse with the spapel#like I’m a spapel defender#I don’t think all the writing choices in 1-2 were perfect but I thought they added some dimension to Spock and chapels dynamic in tos#but the writing of Spock and Vulcans in general is SNW’s weakest point#like it’s pretty bad#I don’t hate it like some people do and I found a lot of the episodes enjoyable despite their questionable portrayal of Vulcan culture#but when the show insists on focusing on Spock this hard it just really brings attention to how little it feels like they understand him#Nyota slayed as always#she’s perfect no notes
