The campfire embers glow!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2nd December
As the campfire sits over the pit I have been able to light it from underneath. This means the embers glow like a real campfire! This could be utilised on stage in real life.

Death Scene
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2nd December
I made some PVA puddles and when they were dry I painted them black to represent oil. These puddles are used in the death scene to represent Pentheus’ blood after he is torn apart. This idea is sparked from the play within a play idea, with the ‘locals’ using what is around them to put on a show.

Pentheus’ Head
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2nd December
Pentheus’ head for the death scene. Made by the locals with some old scraps, an old worn hay football with an army hat that has been passed down through the generations of the village.

Objects from the history of the Nigerian village
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2nd December
Around the tree is a mixture of items that have gathered in the village over time. This is meant to show how history has impacted on the village. This collection consists of old army clothes, flags, protest signs, an old crutch and more!
