Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā ā JOY ?? after the first fifteen seconds of birth until REALITY kicks in .Ā ā she shook her head with a chuckle as she quickly lifted her childās legs for a more thorough cleaning . dimples appeared as she gave anahita a relaxed smile .Ā ā ana , you canāt be out here making mentees cry , i mean especially if youāll be their boss someday .Ā ā she smirked , taping the childās bottom with a chuckle .Ā
ā just FIFTEEN SECONDS of joy ?? hearing you talk about that makes me THANKFUL i never gave into the societal norm of having a child. ā anahita was half-joking, but when she saw how stressed jessica was from having those children, she thanked god for her birth control.Ā ā if they didnāt want to cry, they shouldnāt have been STUPID, ā she said with a cavalier manner.Ā ā they werenāt even writing in AP style. what was i supposed to do ?? baby these people who supposedly had a journalism degree but couldnāt write in the language of journalism ?? ā

āi personally didnāt think iād end up back here for a while,ā anahita admitted, still taking a sip from her drink. she didnāt really have any plans to come back to wisteria until she had gotten the invitation in the mail. once she moved out, she didnāt look back much. anahita was very muchĀ āwhatās past is pastā kinda gal, and that included wisteria.Ā
ātake a drink if you thought weād be back here a lot earlier,ā she mumbled to herself with a small laugh, taking a sip of her alcohol drink. being away from novia meant she could let loose, which deifnitely would consist of alcohol. truth be told, the brunette thought theyād be back at wisteria for jude and gabeās wedding a lot earlier than anticipated. you could call it from a mile away, but that was beside the point. probably gabe waiting too long, right?

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā ā ANAHITA !!Ā ā he grinned , genuinely happy to see her . their relationship was one that arnie remembered being ⦠interesting . there were times where they would speak to each other for days , but then not see each other for weeks . one things arnie could appreciate about ana was her drive & ambition . something that he aspired to .Ā ā why thank you , you know i try to keep my face clean shaven & drink a lot of water . you know , keep my pores clear !!Ā ā he laughed , shaking his head .Ā
ā itās good to see you, arnie, ā anahita said, with a big smile on her face. although she gave him a hard time for being aĀ ābuzzfeed journalistā, she always enjoyed his company and thought her was a pretty good journalist for buzzfeed. they hadnāt talked in years but it felt like they could pick right back up where they started.Ā ā so howās work ? youāre not still working for buzzfeed, are you ? ā she raised an eyebrow, showing his discontent for the company.

Adriana smiled coming back down to the lobby. Austin had gone down for the night and the nanny was there to watch over him while she went to go and try to reunite with some old friends. Leaning against the elevator wall she closed her eyes for a second just relaxing until she heard it ding and open. Without thinking she moved forwards and ended up bumping into someone,Ā āCrap, sorry. Iām still half asleep.ā She looked at the person and couldnāt help but smile,Ā āItās good to see you.āĀ
It had been an overwhelming day for Anahita. Between not working and running into everyone she knew five years ago, it was a little much. As much as she was excited for the wedding and to see old frineds, part of her really just wanted to go into work and get started on a new piece. As she was walking, she was already thinking of new ideas to write about even though she told herself to not think about work during the wedding. Anahita slightly flinched as she was ran into. She smiled when she saw it was Adriana.Ā āHey!ā she greeted.Ā āItās nice to see you too!ā

anahita was taking a walk through the old halls of wisteria. she had three years of memories in this place, and despite not being the most sentimental person, it was a little nostalgic for her to be roaming the same halls again. of course, she wouldnāt want to be back where she was five years ago, she wasnāt as successful and didnāt have gloria steinem in her contacts - but it the experience of being in the tiny apartment helped shape her and so did the relationships she formed in there. she cautiously made her way into andersonās apartment.Ā āiām doing really well. iāve been doing a lot of work for the washington post in d.c. what about you?ā
anderson had to study, but he didnāt want to miss any of his old friends coming back to town. he decided to leave his apartment door open, which of course was still the same one on the first floor that heād lived in since he moved into wisteria. sheets of paper were spread all around him as he sat on the floor, notepad on his lap and pen in hand. every now and again he glanced over to the door, and this time he happened to meet someoneās eye.Ā āoh hey! you can come in just⦠donāt move anything. i want to see people, but med school doesnāt stop for anyone. how are you doing? tell me about your life.ā

anahita was getting back from lunch when she heard a familiar voice SCREAM. anahita had never really been the nurturing type, so when she saw children, she awkwardly waved & uttered aĀ āhi kids.ā she turned to face jess, who she hadnāt seen in YEARS, & let out a breathy chuckle.Ā ā oh no, i couldnāt possibly take away so much JOY from you, ā anahita remarked, facetiously.Ā ā anyway, iām not the mothering kind, ya know. we once had a mentor program at the washington post & i accidentally made one of the mentees CRY on the first day. āĀ
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā ā JETT . CAT !! SIT DOWN !!!Ā ā the pregnant woman screamed in the middle of the wisteria lobby . her two out of the three children moved onto the chairs , hands in their laps as they looked up at their moody mom . they had been running around all day , basically the strawberries & cream frapuccino plus the madelines was more than just a bad idea . looking over her sunglasses , she spotted a familiar face as she began to change mateoās diaper in one of the opposite chairs . her eyes moved back to her child , working at the speed of light to get a new pair onto his bottom . as the familiar face got closer , she placed the pacifier with the animal on the end into her sonās mouth ; his big doe eyes following his motherās gaze up at her former neighbor .Ā ā i hope youāre here to kidnap them .āĀ

5 YEARS LATER
by 2022, anahita benai is one of the most successful investigative journalists of her generation. not without hard work, of course.
by 2017, she had broken several stories that went viral. one about a corrupt company, one about a sex-trafficking ring, and one about the embezzlement of a politician. she didnāt stop there, that would totally out of character for her. after three years of living in the tiny studio apartment in wisteria,Ā
in 2018, she finally left for a much bigger penthouse in another part of los angeles. while she stayed in l.a. for most of her time, she also went to work for the washington post for a few months at a time. there, on january 20, 2018, she broke the story that made president trump resign. through meticulous research, undercover work, and a great team behind her, anahita benai was the one to finally prove that he had indeed colluded with russia on the campaign. the praise for her work was overwhelming. people were lauding her as the new carl bernstein. while the success of her discovery and piece, which earned her a pulitzer prize, was indeed great, it wasnāt enough for her. she continued her work, even though she was pretty much set for life after that breakthrough. she went back to l.a., travelling to new places to bring light to things that were happening around the united states.Ā
in 2019, she broke a piece about sexism and racism in silicon valley. this piece produced outrage among people advocating for more women in stem and ultimately made silicon valley change their ways. later that year, she was asked to appear on cnn and she agreed. she became a regular on there, always being asked for her expert opinion.Ā
in 2020, she launched her website, anahitabenai.com, which featured the work that she had done along with resources to help journalism students. her alma mater, emerson, the same year, invited her to speak at the school and make the commencement address at their graduation.Ā
in 2021, she partnered with one of her heroes, gloria steinem, to write a piece about how women are treated unfairly in the workplace. they touched upon the harmful stereotypes that male ceos let affect their decisions, the opportunity gap, the wage gap, among many others. when the piece came out, feminists from all over the globe praised their work, saying it was one of the most important feminist pieces of the year. later that year, she traveled to iran to help out with relief while also donating $1 million dollars.Ā
this year, she still hasnāt slowed down. sheās traveling in between washington and l.a. right now, still working for the washington post. she took a weekend off which surprised everyone (including herself) to go to this wedding.

anahita left wisteria for a larger apartment once her journalism career took off, a studio apartment just wasnāt cutting it anymore. but she lived in that relatively tiny studio apartment for three years & she had always carried a special place for the complex, it being one of the first real homes she ever lived in in l.a. she was kind of shocked when she got the invitation for the wedding, not really keeping in touch with a lot of the other residents. but she surprisingly told her secretary that she was taking the week off to go to a wedding & here she was. she strolled into the lobby & was greeted by arnieās compliments.Ā ā why thank you, time hasnāt been too bad for you either. āĀ
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā wisteria had become home for arnie . it was the first place he moved into after leaving his parentsā home . the place where he met his best friends , his wrote his screenplay , & grew as a human . upon hearing of the union between judith & gabriel , of course arnold felt obligated to go . he remembers house sitting for the man when he went on his thailand expedition & jude ⦠jude was a woman whom he looked up to immensely . closing the door behind him , the male looked at the number on his door : 1001 . he had worked to get this place ⦠the top tier & he wouldnāt throw it away . fumbling to the lobby , he was hoping to see some familiar faces . when he spotted one , his eyes glittered ā his teeth sparkling .Ā ā well , well ⦠TIME has certainly done you very well .Ā āĀ

Giselle: i'm innocent
giselle: is it above you or below you??
giselle: should we go confront them?? i'm down
anahita: I can't really tell? Someone is yelling something about being the best (which is a lie because, I am) and then another person is watching porn or something?
Anahita: Either way, it's an array of noises that's making working on this article really difficult.
Anahita: We can try to confront them but if that doesn't work, I won't hesitate to file a noise complaint because holy mother of god.

āThe only time Iām fine with indecisiveness is picking the cake because then I end up going to more cake taste tests and thatās never a bad thing for me.ā she admitted that and shrugged, now starting to think about cake.Ā āOh come on. Itāll be someone special when you end up getting married.āĀ
āMmmm...cake, the only reasons I ever go to a wedding,ā she joked.Ā āDo you really think Iām gonna find a person who wonāt run away when I spend our anniversary, or wharever, at work all night? I donāt think so.ā

āI donāt know why they canāt make a decision. You either like something or you donāt. And if you make a decision just stick to it. Donāt change it a million times.ā She waved her arms a bit as she tried to make her point and sighed. Letting out a laugh she shook her head,Ā āIf you tell me youāre getting married Iām helping plan it.ā
āPeople like that are the worst,ā she grumbled, her mind drifting to all the indecisive and incompetent coworkers that couldnāt even decide on what font to use for their emails.Ā āNo, donāt plan my wedding. Slap me and tell me to snap out of it. I mean it.ā

Anahita looked distastefully at the blonde who was relying on a coin toss.Ā āNo, Iām not playing your little game,ā she scoffed.Ā āIām about to be on time for my job because Iām not a slacker. You should show up, obviously, and you shouldnāt need a coin to tell you otherwise.ā
āāQuick,ā Gabrielle pressed, as the elevator doors opened to the main floor, walking up to the first person she saw,Ā āheads or tails.ā She fished out a nickel from her jean pocket, holding the shiny item in the palm of her hand,Ā ā Iām an hour and a half late for work and I canāt decide if its worth still showing up. You win, I donāt go. I win, I go.āĀ
