Mason kind of reminds me of Shen from Kung Fu Panda 2 in a way, his father banished him from his home (for a reason that still wasn't confirmed) and from the look on his mother, it was probably due to something bad that he did like how Shen almost killed a whole species and then was banished from Gongmen city.

Later on after his parents death he comes back to take something that "belonged" to him which is Ethan like how Shen came back to take Gongmen city, not to mention that Mason also banished Ethan from his home despite of him being someone dear to him like how Shen banished the Soothsayer despite of her being his childhood nanny. (I know that he didn't exactly banish her since he took her as a prisoner but let me have this) I like to think that Mason's parents also died of grief too like Shen's but that's just a headcanon.

Now that I think about it, in my religion evil eye born out of jealousy or envy is capable of causing harm and misfortune Which might explain why Ethan lost everything Xander has ever been jealous of. While I doubt it's the actual reason it's pretty interesting to think about.

Something that I've noticed while rewatching Sadie's backstory is how her font's color in this vid is pink while in the other vids her font's color is purple and if you're familiar with color symbolism you'll know that pink is often associated with sweetness and innocence and the font's color changing could be used as a metaphor for how after Ozzy's death Sadie slowly lost her innocence and became more aggressive as time goes on.

But if we're talking about negative traits then you'll find that pink is often associated with immaturity and lack of self-worth which is one of the key guides to depression which means that Sadie could have already been dealing with depression but after Ozzy's death it just worsened, during that time Sadie could have been trying to hide it and act more "mature" since immaturity is a negative trait associated with both pink and purple except current Sadie is trying to hide it while past Sadie was not.

And something that I've also noticed while rewatching the "Your Ex Boyfriend?" Vid is that Sadie was wearing a star bracelet which I find a clever detail to represent her backstory's vid's name and song. Purple is also associated with wealth and while I doubt that the bracelet was actually made of gold it is a cool detail to add to the color symbolism.

And while Sadie's depression may have worsened, she still feels empathy for people as she is kind and selfless to everyone around her and violet is also sensitive to all different kinds of pollution which makes it susceptible to illness and allergies which could be also be used as a metaphor of how Sadie was likely susceptible by her ex boyfriend, and too much of the color purple can promote or aggravate depression and it should be used extremely carefully which symbolizes the fact that too much increasing of Sadie's negative traits would aggravate her depression and that she should be treated extremely carefully when trying to help her heal.

Actually now that I think about it, Sadie barely appearing anymore actually makes sense since while Zeyn and her used to be bestfriends, they never even interact anymore. Much less see eachother. And since the ZS universe revolves around Zeyn it makes sense that ZS will only show the events and characters that are related to her in the current storyline more often.

And as Zeyn explores her surroundings more Sadie is slowly beginning to have less of an impact on Zeyn and are becoming more distant and it wasn't long before Zeyn valued her and Destiny's relationship more than Sadie's and making her feel unintentionally left out. And the thing is Sadie doesn't even have an identity anymore since her role as Zeyn's bestfriend and even her font color were replaced by Destiny but after Ozzy's death she decided to start anew and basically changed everything from her lifestyle, looks and even some of her personality. Zeyn and Sadie's relationship crumbling is none of their faults, some relationships just never work out and honestly, I'm glad ZS is taking a more realistic approach to this.

Personally, I like to think that the last scene in Sadie's backstory is what could've been. But fate had other plans.

The fact that Christian is represented as a gun while Destiny is represented as a butterfly genuinely hurts so much. It's as if to say that there's no world where they won't need another universe to truly be themselves and to die with the world acknowledging what they are and not what they perceive them to be, a heartless monster and a seemingly perfect girl.
