SIP ‘N STROLL THROUGH SAVANNAH
#WhenInAndaz take advantage of Savannah’s “to-go cup” ordinance and sip your way through the best spots for a brew throughout the city. Unsure of where to start? Andaz Savannah hosts share a few of their favorites. - Jen’s and Friends: If a martini sounds good for your walking drink, Jen’s features over 300 different ones! - Abe’s on Lincoln: Plenty of to-go options at this fun old bar! It is very local and located off the “tourist” path. - Pinkie Master’s Lounge: Grab a refill in the oldest running bar in downtown Savannah. One of the greatest dive bars in the South, it has the best jukebox in Savannah. See more favorites from Andaz Savannah on Jauntful.

#PPArtAroundYou
Art isn’t confined to only galleries and frames. Beauty and inspiration can be found walking down the streets just the same as strolling through a museum. Take this shot for example, which was captured during a walk through the streets of London. Knowing that art can be found at every turn, we’ve teamed up with our travel friends at Passion Passport and their community of photographers and storytellers to capture some of the most inspiring street art from around the globe.
Here’s where you come in. Share the art you spot in your city on Instagram by tagging @passionpassport and #PPArtAroundYou and you could have a chance to win a night at an Andaz hotel. Rules and regulations apply. Get all the details here.

Living Local in London
Guest post by Foodie & Photographer Aran Goyoaga of Cannelle et Vanille
I have been to London many times but I always wanted to visit during Christmastime. Something so magical about the dark days lit by twinkle lights, lots of mulled wine, the scent of Christmas trees and the bustle of the holiday season. It was a dream come true to stay at the centrally-located Andaz Liverpool Street, so close to Shoreditch (my favorite new area of London), Hackney, Southbank, the Financial District and most importantly, next to Liverpool Station.
Because I am a food blogger, stylist and photographer, I was mostly drawn to London eats, food markets and cute little boutiques. Below is a list of some of my favorite spots I explored during my stay at Andaz Liverpool street - I hope you will enjoy them!
Where to Eat

Eastway - 40 Liverpool Street, London England EC2M 7QN. Conveniently located within the Andaz, Eastway has an impressive brunch buffet on the weekends. Don’t miss their Bloody Mary bar where you can mix your favorite concoction.
Lyle’s - Tea Building, 56 Shoreditch High Street, London, E1 6JJ. Nestled in a beautiful building in the up and coming neighborhood of Shoreditch, chef James Lowe offers a rustic modern approach to English cuisine. Vegetables, dairy and game all made in small portions to perfection. Still dreaming about the chestnut and quince dessert I had that night.

St. John Bread and Wine - 94-96 Commercial Street, London, E1 6LZ. I loved this place so much that we came here for breakfast and dinner. They have another location in Maltby Market, but it is the one in Shoreditch close to the Andaz that stole my heart. It is classic English fare prepared very rustically. Unfussy food that I love. It is meat heavy so beware. For breakfast, do not miss the porridge and custard doughnuts and for dinner, I wish I could eat the white bean and garlic soup every single day.
Poppies Fish and Chips - 6-8 Hanbury Street, London E1 6QR. Located at the Old Spitalfields Market, I was told not to miss this classic fish and chips spot. Really good fries and such a fun atmosphere.
40 Maltby Street – Located on 40 Maltby Street on Maltby Market, this is an impressive wine bar also serving small plates to share. Go early as it gets very busy.

Ottolenghi - 287 Upper Street, London N1 2TZ. I had been really eager to visit Ottolenghi’s restaurants ever since I discovered his books. I stopped at the location on Upper Street on my way back from shopping at Folklore (see below). I went directly to the salad counter and ordered a box to go with an array of colorful salads. Then a polenta and pistachio cake and some flavored salts that I picked up as gifts. The restaurant was very busy so I took my salad and decided to eat it at a nearby bench while I watched people walk by.

Beigel Shop - 155 Brick Lane, London E1 6SB. Stopped at Beigel Shop early Sunday morning on my way to the Columbia Road Flower Market. It was quite the scene with locals, old-nighters and early birds. Perfect for some true Londoner people watching.
Where to Shop

Labour and Wait - 85 Redchurch Street, London E2. Beautifully curated shop of homeware, clothing, leather goods, some food items and gifts. I basically wanted one of each. It is located on a really fun street with lots of boutiques and small galleries. Not to miss.
Folklore - 193 Upper Street, Islington, London N1 1RQ. It is a bit of a walk from the Andaz but a good friend had recommended this little Scandinavian-inspired boutique. Lots of blankets, beautiful ceramics, some furniture and magazines. It was very cozy and had such a lovely Christmas spirit.

Liberty of London – Regent Street, London W1B 5AH. What can I say about this institution that hasn’t been said. Everything from fabric, homeware, and the most amazing top floor filled with Christmas decorations. It was very, very crowded so definitely not a place to feel rushed.

Petersham Nurseries - Church Lane, Off Petersham Road, Richmond, Surrey, TW10 7AB. I didn’t know which category to include Petersham Nurseries in because this is a destination on its own. It is in Richmond so not close to Andaz at all, but I had been dying to go for years and thought that during Christmas time would be the perfect experience. Took the underground from Liverpool Station to Richmond, (entire trip took nearly an hour). This is a beautiful nursery, with the most amazing homeware shop and delicious café and restaurant. I met old friends that had come from all over and we spent the afternoon shopping and eating. Definitely a destination in its own right.
Columbia Road Flower Market – This was the perfect Sunday morning outing watching Londoners buy their Christmas trees, mistletoe and all kind of bulbs. The street is lined with unique vintage shops, boutiques and restaurants. Not to miss if you want to experience some local flare.
Food (and not Food) Markets

Borough Market – 8 Southwark Street, London SE1 1TL. Probably the most famous outdoor food market in London (and also one of the oldest ever since the 11th century), Borough was decked out for the holidays. We sipped mulled wine, tasted cheese at my all-time favorite Neal’s Yard and had Spanish Serrano ham at Brindisa. I recommend getting there early to avoid the crowds especially on the weekends.
Old Spitalsfields Market - 16 Horner Square, Spitalfields, London E1 6EW. The Old Spitalsfields Market is a combination of open-air stalls and also brick and mortar shops. Lots of vintage and antiques as well as beautiful clothing and accessory shops. But many bakeries, coffee shops and restaurants also surround the market so I highly recommend getting lost around the blocks. Also, it is only a 5-minute walk from the Andaz so this is the perfect outing after having arrived in London.
Maltby Market - Ropewalk, London SE1 2HQ. Maltby Street Market is a Saturday and Sunday open-air market with mainly food vendors from homemade honey, cider, baked goods, waffles, coffee, you name it. There are also restaurants like St. John Bread and Wine, 40 Maltby Street, Comptoir Gourmand, etc. Perfect place to go for brunch on a weekend.

Jess Zaino’s Guide to Maui
Cultural Insider Jess Zaino hit the beach on her most recent trip to Maui and came back with more than a tan. After scouring the island for hidden gems and the inside scoop, she pulled together a list of her favorite go-to’s for any traveler that wants to live like a local.

1. Hit up SANSEI after 10pm for 1/2 off sushi and drinks, plus the most insane karaoke on the island.
2. Make sure to get an order or two of the garlic truffle fries at Monkeypod Kitchen!
3. Grab a panini and a bottle of West Coast wine from Mokapu Market at the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort and bring it down to the beach for a sunset picnic
4. If you’re booking a hike, go with Hike Maui and ask for Aaron. “Bombing the Waterfalls” is an absolute must!! And be prepared to swim fully clothed with shoes on… no worries, the Hawaiian sun will have you dry in less than 10 minutes
5. For a sea turtle swim, Kai Kanani is best as an 8am excursion, and not the quick 6am one… gives you more time to explore Turtle Town and they get you boozy on Mai Tai’s and PB & J.
6. Every Friday is a holiday on Maui!! Kihei Fourth Fridays is a super cool local market in a shopping mall parking lot. Be sure to buy local art!
7. If you’re in Honolulu, skip the tourist scene at Duke’s and head for authentic Japanese noodles at Marukame Udon. Don’t let the long line turn you away - it goes by pretty quickly and the meal is so worth it!!
8. Looking to get a proper Polynesian tat in Waikiki? Big Island Mike at Hale Nui Tattoos will sort you out.
9. No visit to the Big Island is complete without a stop at the iconic Leonard’s for Malasadas, a Portuguese donut that may be the best tasting dessert on Earth!
10. Uber X is available on Honolulu. Use it in lieu of an expensive taxi.
