Brücke Zwei: toi toi PROJEKTRAUM

Pályázat a 2015-ben megrendezett OFF-Biennalera

A Brücke Zwei egy művészeti csoportosulásnak indult 2008-ban. Egy száz darabból álló lufi-hidat építettünk a Duna fölé. Ez volt az alapító és egyben az eddigi egyetlen mű, amit a csoport készített. A mostani felállásban hárman alkotjuk a Brücke Zwei-t, név szerint Felsmann István, Fischer Judit és Zalavári András.

Az év elején részt vettünk egy előadáson a Lumen zöldségesben. A téma a “projectraum” volt. Ezek olyan nonprofit közösségi terek, amelyekben alkotói tevékenység folyik és különböző kulturális eseményeknek ad otthont pl: kiállítás megnyitok, előadások, happeningek.

Sok projectraum működik pl. Berlinben. Budapesten még nem annyira elterjedtek, azonban a közeljövőben feltételezhetően nagy térhódítása várható itthon is.

Egy, vagy akár több toi toi wc-vel szeretnénk pályázni, amelyet projectraum-ként állítanánk ki. Az „I love TOI TOI” matrica helyére pedig az a felirat kerülne: „Projektraum”. A WC-papír végtelen katalógusként jelenik meg, ami az interaktív nyomtatóeljárás után ingyenesen elvihetö (vagy bedobható a mindent elemésztő blue löttybe).

Mivel toi toi WC-ről van szó, ezért mobilis, a város különböző pontjain felállítható és a funkciójának megfelelően használható. Úgy gondoljuk, ez jól passzol az Off Biennálé infrastrukturális lehetőségeihez.

Természetesen ezek a toi toi WC-k rendeltetésüknek megfelelően működnének,

és ha a helyzet úgy kivánná a Toi Toi Projektraumok lehetnének az Off Biennale hivatalos illemhelyei.

 A WC a múltban is nagy dolgok kiindulópontja volt. Slavoj Zizek hírhedt és bámulatos metaforáját is továbbgondolhatjuk, amelyben párhuzamba állítja a társadalmi berendezkedést, szellemiséget a WC kialakításával.

A franciák forradalmi hevülettel állnak a kérdéshez, rögtön meg akarnak szabadulni exkrementumuktól. Olyan mint a guillotine, rögtön a lyukba hullik és elmerül.

A német WC-ben a végtermék egy vízszintes posztamens-szerű felületre esik, ahol lehetőség nyílik a megfigyelésre. A német lélekre jellemző a mélázás, elemzés, filozofálás itt is megnyilvánul.

Az angol WC-kben az arany középutat választották, ahol egy lankára hullik, lecsúszik majd a vízen lebeg. Az angolszász a visszafogottan liberális, azt üzeni nekünk : legyünk racionálisak, oldjuk meg a problémát később, Let it flow.

 A toi toi nagy újítása, hogy a WC megy Mohamedhez. Az angolszász köztesség amerikanizált köztességgel felturbózva.

Az ágytál mobilitása és az angol WC kényelme lebegett szem előtt. Mindez egy műanyag kerti budiban öltött végül formát. Ugyan oda az ágytál intimitása, oda az angol WC tisztasága, de ez egy közösségi mellékhelyiségnél mellékes. Tisztaságnak elég a szemet is szétmaró tisztaságszag, és az ellentmondást nem tűrő, megnyugtató ultramarin lötty. Ellentmondásossága nem ér itt véget. Nem a kontempláció helye, hanem a gyors termelésé. Bár lehetőséget biztosítana a vizsgálódásra, a sötétben a saját segglyukát se találja az ember, nemhogy egy új vallást**. Az ember most már nem csak a saját produktumát szemlélhetné, hanem azt a többiekkel relációban vizsgálhatná, ha tudná melyik is volt az övé, mert az individum elvész, mire az ember egyet pislant és megfordul.

Egyszerre hipermodern és népies. Ugyanabban a pillanatban érzi magát az ember a NASA-ban és egy prehisztorikus árnyékszéken. Mint egy pottyantós űrhajó.

A toi toi genderérzékeny. Legyen a WC a nőké is, de az egyenlőségnek ismét ők isszák meg a levét. Üljenek bele a tutiba. A férfiak által szétpermetezett húgyba. De hát valakinek áldozatot kell hozni, hogy mindenkinek jó legyen.

Nem kétséges a tervezők jószándéka: a köztéri, demokratikus, közösségépítő, társadalmi rangtól, nemtől független WC megteremtésének célja, ám az eredmény mégis ambivalens.

De ne hagyjuk magunkat letörni, örüljünk, vannak helyzetek, amikor egy toi toi maga a megváltás. Próbáljunk meg elképzelni egy fesztivált toi toi nélkül.

A bullshiten túl, felülemelkedve a tárgy problematikusságán, koncentráljunk a pozitívumokra.

A toi toi szó egy rejtett jelentése pedig mintha az Off biennálé célkitűzéseit vízhangoznák.

Dél Afrikában egy olyan nagy médianyilvánosságot kiváltó, táncos, énekes tiltakozási forma elnevezése, amikor elégedetlen emberek százai, ezrei vonulnak  a kormány valamely intézkedése ellen tiltakozni.

Így válhat tökéletes szimbólumává és nélkülözhetetlen kellékévé egy alulról jövő civil kezdeményezésnek…

Inverze Perspective

The project has started as a research about perspective. To gain more knowledge about a topic, it’s always a good idea to turn it upside down and start to define the enclosing form, the exact opposite. So it was obvious to do a research about Inverse Perspective. There are already some results in theory and practice.

This topic includes the famous Pascal’s sphere, the byzantine perspective (God’s view), or a possible objective view etc. Rather then simply visualize it in a virtualized environment, paint or write about it, my goal is to look for a way to present it as reality. Even though it’s not correct way to look at it however people tend perceive photographs as an objective capture of reality.

At the beginning of the research process I thought that photography would be the best way to give the belief that such a view exists. Even more it is just another view. And that ends up that the form of view is absolutely arbitrary. One of the most interesting thing about inverse perspective, that the particular topic or object is observed from every angle. The projection examine it’s object(s) from every direction, It can shows/see the object in its entireness, without compromises. Therefore, even though Inverse Perspective also looses one dimension, it resembles an objective view of a particular object. This attribute is even more interesting, if the observed object becomes an abstract concept. I have started to take mixed, vertically inverse, horizontally normal, perspective photographs, partly because of technical possibilities. It shows interesting attributes. Things closer seem thin and tall. The object at the viewpoint (from perspective) becomes infinitely wide.

Geometrical Interpretaion

Any projection can be described with an arbitrary surface and there perpendicular normals. All the perpendicular lightrays paints the surface, therefore drawing the projected image on it. Perspective can be described as light rays coming from the outside, towards a sphere’s center. As light hits the surface it creates the image. The result is a full panoramic picture of the outside world.

Inverse perspective just goes the other way. While it is also described with a sphere, this case the rays are coming from the inside, instead. The transformations are very similar to normal perspective, but a few significant properties are changed. Inverse perspective makes a picture of the inside world of the surface, therefore the objects appearing on the image must be situated within the sphere.

Both projections most important point is the centre of the sphere, but it behaves differently. For the a panoramic perspective projection the centre is it’s point of view, the place the photo was taken. While the inverse perspective has never even heard of such an expression, like point of view, because in the world of Inverse Perspective it’s meaningless. In the case of Inverse Perspective the centre of the sphere has an entirely different importance. It’s not the point the world is examined from, instead, it is the point examined by it’s surroundings. This point is not where you looking from, rather it’s what you looking at.

The image attached is a mix of inverse and normal perspective. This is a well know place in Budapest, the Heroes square. The yellow stripe in the background is the column in the middle of the square. The column shows the way inverse perspective deals with the centre of the sphere, and its surroundings.

"The first time a person is able to distinguish itself from the sur- rounding world is one of the major turning point in personal development. What you see, hear or touch becomes an infor- mation about the world rather than yourself and the “self” be- comes an accurately outlined entity on its own. From now on, it has to define its own will and use fancy tricks to achieve its goals.

The main character is motionless therefore the relation inside remains still. To keep the original relation with the environ- ment, it has to be forced: if she wont’t, then everything else will have to move. The result could be considered as a per- sonal projection of the environment. The scene is extremely egocentric, she as a personality spreads out its boundar- ies to her whole body and even further. The main character is self-conscious, motivated by curiosity and playfulness, randomly playing an abstract game with the surrounding world."

Adam and Eve

I have used one of Cranach’s painting, Adam and Eve. The two figures are projected onto a wall next to each other. They are slowly breathing expletively.

Adam and Eve are at the last moment of there formerly timeless and immortal world. The painting characterize Id. Lucas Cranach’s sense of humor: while Eve passing over the apple, Adam is clearly scratching his head, without any clue of what to do next. Adam and Eve shows up projected onto the wall without the background, in lifesize, by themselfes, t. Socrates in the Symposium talks about Eros, as an alternative cure for mortality. The Fragile nature of breathing makes them also mortal and alive. The moment Adam takes the apple, by loosing immortality is the start of a new era of sexuality, love, some kind of struggle for im- mortality in any possible ways.
