Ivan&Till alien stage controversy

I've been seeing some arguments talking about the Ivan and till scene where Ivan kisses Till and pretends to be attacking him and blah blah blah if you're reading this you already know. basically what's happening is that people are mad because it was SA and are boiling down the whole moment to SA.

now, as a survivor of SA I know that every persons experiences are different and that SA is SA no matter the context. yes, that scene showed Ivan pretending to choke Till and then kissing him, Till obviously pulled away and did not consent.

but boiling down that moment to SA and not recognizing the importance behind his actions is just foul. yes no matter his intentions it was SA but we all watched the same thing correct? like-what?? villainizing Ivan for his actions is just plain ridiculous, should he have done that? no. probably not. was it important for the climax/end of his character and to convey a message not only to the viewer but to the characters in the series? yes. 100% because it gave PERSPECTIVE it gave Till an entirely different view of what he was doing. it made him realize certain things. and if we all recall, HE WAS TRYING TO LOSE ON PURPOSE!!! Ivan didn't want Till to die yet so he did what he thought was best to keep Till alive.

The whole plot for Ivan was that he wanted Till to SEE him to ACKNOWLEDGE him. he didn't get that, Mizi did. and as far as I'm aware he didn't even resent them for that. not Till or Mizi, he held a sort of obsession for Till and I'll admit Ivan in my opinion is naturally a morally grey character. honestly when watching the series unfold I expected something to happen between them most likely having Ivan as the one initiating it. does that make the fact that he kissed Till without consent okay? no. but seeing the bigger picture and seeing the significance behind his actions and the overall presence of him that lingers afterward is important too!!

stop villainizing morally grey characters for doing things that are important to the plot. for some it just kind of ruins it and shows how media literacy amongst people is fading. please stop seeing in black and white, it ruins the whole thing if you don't see the big picture.

because this is fictional this has no real affect on what i think i would feel if this happened irl because the probability of aliens destroying earth and taking the humans to sing on an alien stage is unknown and quite frankly unlikely. so no this does not affect my opinions outside of alien stage. a good day to you

so, to preface this, endeavor sucks and he is a terrible person. his effort towards redemption is noted but as of now i find that i really don't care and he sucks. anyways, there's been some things i have heard and seen regarding him (as a headcanon of sorts) that he is misogynist, or sexist. yes, there are counts of perceived misogyny considering he trafficked Rei but many say he would probably look down on female heroes and etcetera but I don't see it. the reason why I think this is that in his pursuit in having his, "Masterpiece" the only reason he rejected his children was for their quirks, and i speculate that if fuyumi had developed a quirk up to his bullshit standards he would've treated her the same way he treated Shoto, in fact, I believe he would've actually been...HOLD THE PHONE WAIT while I was typing that down i had an epiphany...maybe he would've been more misogynistic with his training being as because generally women are considered weaker maybe the "training" would be even more harsh than shoto's because of the perceived natural fallbacks of being a woman OOOOOHH MY GOD I'M COOKING.

obviously him treating anyone of his kids like that is awful but we've already established the fact that he is a shit person. I don't believe he holds a prejudice or anything but he definitely wouldn't want to risk that being a possibility. but who knows, maybe if she was born with that quirk he would've just done the whole process again and then we have the OG plot for Shoto except his sister having the same or similar quirk to his.

anyways, this was a rollercoaster , I'm a rambler even when just typing lol

I'm reading a fix right now, the MC is dying soon and its Christmas and she's starting to come to the realization...BUT ITS AN UNDERTALE FIC...so instead of christmas its fucking gyftmas and I'm dying over the emotional climax of the chapter being, "merry gyftmas..." GTFO I can't fake it seriously KILL ME

On screen there are two hosts laughing it up as they prepare for their guest of the day, "wow! you are a riot Okura-san!" the male host, Kauru, said as he stopped the laughter and looked over to the female host, Okura, "oh, I try! Anyways though, aside from my overwhelming sense of humor, we've been teasing the audience since we began so, today's guest iiiiiiiiiss..." a drumroll plays as the curtain next to them opens to reveal, "ALL MIGHT!!!" both hosts say loudly.

With those words Toshinori walks into the room with welcoming music, he's wearing a casual black suit and tie along with a deku pin on his breast pocket. Kaura stands up and gives Toshinori a bow as well as Okura, clearly nervous, Toshinori does the same. The frail sits down in the chair presented to him and Okura immediately gets on topic.

"So! the famous All might. how are you?" She says politely with a beaming, professional smile. "Yes! That's a good question, you haven't had any interviews in years! this is the first one since the war, yes?"

Toshinori looks visibly nervous as he gulps before introducing himself, "well, uh, since I'm not a hero anymore therefore I'm not Allmight, my name is Yagi Toshinori, as I have revealed many years ago..." He speaks his name almost uncomfortably, still not used to having one for all and his identity out there.

Kauru clutches his chest dramatically, "That's our mistake Yagi-san! it's just, you don't really do a lot of interviews anymore, hell, you didn't do them too often as a pro either!"

Toshinori shifts at the mention of his hero career, still reminiscing the days of a hero.

"but that's enough of that! we should get on topic with further ado!" Okura says with a clap of her hands and presents a device to Toshinori.

with a cheeky grin, Kauru explains what will be happening during the interview. "today, we treat you into the perspective of the fans of All might, before and after his retirement."

Toshinori looked perplexed, did he still have fans even like this?

"As we all know, pros get all kinds of fan content. fanfiction, fanart, ....fan edits." When Kauru says fan edits, some of the crowd begins to laugh. Toshinori was still confused by this, "edits?"

"YES!!! people will take footage of fights, interviews, and documentaries of heroes to edit them in any way they like, BUT! it is not the edits themselves we're looking into today...but the comments under those edits." with okura's words a good portion of the crowd erupts with laughter as Toshinori just sits there wondering what this all means.

"I'm sorry Kauru-san but I am not familiar with these terms? the comments?"

Kauru turns to Toshinori, "well, basically they're the thoughts and opinions of people that are typed down, and wow do they get graphic!" Kauru and Okura just laugh as Toshinori gets increasingly nervous. He's been familiar with the opinions of the public since he debuted but he tried to avoid the media about himself after retiring.

"if you just turn on that screen it will show you all the comments that people wrote about you, the comments will be displayed to the audience as well if you get embarrassed." Kauru chuckles as Toshinori turns on the tablet given to him and immediately spits blood when he reads the first one.

"WHA-What does this mean!?" the frail man exclaimed while shifting in his seat to sit up more and really double check what he read.

The first comment was, "ALL MIGHT??? more like all night..."

The crowd laughs as well as the hosts, Kauru clapping his hands together with deep chuckles and Okura's high pitched almost giggle.

"no, seriously. All-all night?" Toshinori couldn't help but let out a couple laughs as well because now he has an idea of how this interview is gonna go.

"Yes, clever isn't it? that's probably to be the most tame of them." Okura says with a teasing stare and a knowing perk of her lips.

Toshinori just shifted himself again and got comfortable, "I think I'm a bit more prepared now." He goes to read the next one and swipes the screen, "I'm not a waiter but I'll take his tip...🧎‍♀️"

Toshinori couldn't even finish the sentence before spitting blood again.

"Tha-That's just lewd!!" he said incredibly flustered that people had thought of him that way. He knew that a lot of his adult fanbase was more...observant than others but-how does someone just put that out there and-and type it down for everyone to see???

While he short circuits the crowd and hosts are almost howling with laughter, Okura is literally clapping her hands while laughing as Kauru claps a hand on her back to keep himself up.

"OH MY-Oh my gosh! that's not-whoo boy!!" Okura begins to contain herself and kicks Kauru's leg for him to do the same.

"oh-OH! yes, uhm-yeah that was unexpected for sure! I almost spit up my drink!" Kauru exclaimed, baffled at the comment.

"i-it's certainly...creative." Was the only thing Toshinori could say to the comment at this point.

"Would you like to swipe to the next one?" Okura said to the older man sweetly as if he wasn't prepared to be verbally violated and for some reason touched by these comments.

"uh-yes. I shall...swipe..." He swipes the screen and he reads aloud, "I just know it's-uhm, larger than our age...gap..." He said confused.

"what's supposed to be larger?" Was it his muscle form? That makes the most sense since-oooohhh noooo....He freezes and blushes profusely after thinking about it.

once again, the crowd and hosts are laughing, Kauru giving a shocked, almost shrill yelp at the comment.

The laughter continues for a bit, but as toshinori just stews in his embarrassment, "w-well yagi-san, it seems we've tortured you enough! Thank you for coming on our show and doing this for us. Please give yagi-san a round of applause!!" Okura quickly closes up the program as the crowd claps eagerly with cheers.

Toshinori is still processing the more...lecherous side of the fans he has. Kauru comes from behind and swipes the screen for him privately to show a comment that says, "I'll take small-might any day and let him have all of my might" he sputters once again, not expecting such a lewd comment involving him, especially his weaker form. He kind of feels flattered by that comment, if it wasn't so inappropriate!

Kauru just laughs at his expression, "hah, I just really wanted you to see that particular one. Maybe you should look at your edits that the fans made! There's a lot of you just as you are now." Kauru says this before walking off and waving bye.

What an informal duo those two are.

Maybe that's why they're so popular. Toshinori is picked up and thinks about the whole thing. Maybe he will search what his edits look like.
