Come into the dark sideeee....
The Three Musketeers spoilers and thoughts below!
Can't help but think that the ending was kind of tragic?
I mean, all of this build-up, this intrigue; just for Milady to end, like that. No glorious last words, no dramatic speeches, it just ends and Milady accepts it. We don't even get a scene after Milady's death, they just go home
Sure, d'Artagnan got his vengeance but that's not going to change the fact that Constance is gone, he just gets one shiny new promotion together with emotional scarring and the book goes "alright that's it wrap it up, au revoir!!"

Oh no, I love reading these, keep 'em coming
Loving the insight, "the fact that they are four walking disasters makes them even more fascinating" THIS. They're so chaotic and flawed but somehow so lovable, I love them!!

Ohh, I agree with this.
And when she was telling her story to Felton, yes, she's manipulating him, but I can't help but wonder how much of her story is actually false. I don't think she can lie THAT well. She's definitely in a very grey area, as are the boys. Also, I didn't consider doubting the executioner's POV but you are so right.
This is my first big read and there's surely a lot I've missed so I would love to read more analyses like this!

Sure, it's a little jarring at first but then you get into it and it's a really absorbing western LOL
It ain't easy being the only person alive who enjoyed the Utah section of A Study in Scarlet but someone's gotta do it
