At one point, Harry became older than his parents.
At only 21.
And it hurts. To realize how much war took from them. Not only as parents who couldn't see their son grow up. But as people. They were so, so young.
And Harry, in a terrible way, became more experienced than his own parents. He still longs for them, for hugs he'll never feel, for parental advices he'll never hear... but it seems even more hollow than before.
Often, he feels like he's used to being an orphan. But suddenly, the wound is wide open, bleeding all over again.
And it hurts. So much.

Hermione really out there committing crimes every single year huh?
Year 1: Set a teacher on fire.
Year 2: Brewed an illegal potion.
Year 3: Meddled with time.
Year 4: Kidnapped a woman and imprisoned her in a jar.
Year 5: Blackmailed a journalist and intentionally lured a government official to her doom in the Forbidden Forest. (And broke into the Ministry but that was a group thing).
Year 6: Took a break to have relationship drama.
Year 7: Too many crimes to count. Highlights include Ministry break in (again), bank robbery, and dragon theft.
Damn girl. Even Tom Riddle's school years look chill by comparison.

A new ghost appears in Hogwarts.
Draco sticks out like a sore thumb: young, angry, haunting not the castle but his murderer.
He rushes through Harry again, spitefully, making him shudder, and then stops. Draco's figure is glinting in the otherwise empty hallway.
His wounds bleed still, sluggish but perpetual. Face. Neck. Chest. Forearms. His robes are stained with it. He's glaring, but he always glares.
And he doesn't speak.
Harry's guilt ebbs and flows regardless. Every brief glance digs it deeper: a stake through the heart. A piercing gaze of a ghost now forever looming over his shoulder.
