It’s almost 12 hours later and I am still not okay.

You know, this is the third time these two have had to say goodbye (which is three times too many if you ask me) but this time is different.

This time, there is no magical cheat. This time, there is no crazy rescue mission. This time (and maybe for the first time in the course of the series), the rescue mission failed. And the characters know it.

Now, we as fans know that this isn’t the end. Somehow Killian makes it out of the Underworld because of course he does. But right now, as far as the characters are concerned, they are out of options.

And it hurts.

Because here we have a couple than ten minutes before this were confirmed as True Love. They fully expected that their True Love was the key. Their True Love was the answer.

But it wasn’t and now you have these two people, the little lost boy and the little lost girl who’d found love in each other, love that had to cross realms and time for its chance to blossom, having to leave each other. Having to say goodbye for eternity. Having to make each other promises that even though their love was love that transcended time and space and death itself, they would move on without each other. Emma would live her life to the fullest and not get bogged down in pain and hurt again, and Killian would move on to his paradise even if that paradise is not with Emma.

And it hurts.

I know this is the low moment. I know this is the hopeless rock bottom before the tides turn. But holy wow does it hurt in the meantime.
