Puck (Hockeytale Papyrus)

Basic Info

Name: Papyrus

AU Nickname: Puck

AU: Hockeytale

Position: Everything but goalie!

Team: Snowdin Snows

Backstory

The canon event for Hockeytale was Papyrus finding a set of old VHS hockey tapes in the dump. After giving them a watch, he decided he HAD to learn the human game of hockey.

Personality

Puck is similar to UT Papyrus in that he is very kind and caring

However, Puck is known to have a bit of a suave flirtatious side to him

He’s generally pretty confident, and tends to act his age (early 20s)

Puck swears all the time (picked up from post game interviews in the tapes). Stick (Sans) tried to stop it at first but then realized puck is a whole adult and can do whatever he wants.

Powers / Abilities / Skills

Puck has all the normal powers of UT Papyrus, plus some additional skills

Papyrus is capable of playing all positions on the ice besides goalie

He prefers center, but will fill in wherever he thinks he’ll be of use

Puck is insanely fast on both ice and land due to training his legs for skating

He also has a very impressive sense of balance

Puck seems to know what's going on anywhere on the ice, even behind him.

He claims he can just “feel it in his bones”

When on ice, Puck wears his hood up as a form of protection, much like a helmet

He owns a variety of puck themed sweatshirts. Most often he wears “Puck Yeah,” however he also has sweatshirts that say “Oh Puck” or “Puck No” among others

Other than that he looks pretty much the same as UT Papyrus (for now…)

Relationships

Stick (Sans)

Puck loves his brother!!!

However oftentimes Puck becomes aggravated by Stick’s “laziness” when they play together

While he would never say it out loud, he’s more frustrated that Stick seems to excel at everything without having to even try

Puck isn’t afraid he’ll get hurt when Stick is around

Strike (Undyne)

The world's most annoying friend rivalry

Puck views Strike, and by extension all of Waterfall as his greatest hockey competition

They train together all the time

Both will refuse to be the first one to leave training because they don’t want to give the other an upper hand

Stick has found them both passed out from overwork at the gym. He was not happy.

Trivia / Extras

His hockey stick is named Stickey. He handpainted the flames on it

Puck actually wears women’s figure skates with the toe picks shaved off

Skates of any kind don’t fall into the underground very often, and due to being a skeleton, Puck’s shoe size is weird

His dream is to join the NHL when he reaches the surface

He loves to teach the younger monsters how to skate!
