Rosa was trying to grab a nap late one Saturday afternoon, but as usual the house was just too noisy. Two sets of healthy pre teen feet stomped around in the kitchen that was right outside her bedroom as well as a cacophony of dog nails clicking and clacking across the floor to the water bowl or to sniff under the kitchen table and back to the water bowl and so forth. Aside from the noise the cat that was also trying to nap with her suddenly caught a case of the itchies and sent the whole bed into motion with her constant scratching and biting at her back or tail or whatever. It certainly didn't help that her bedroom had no door and it was this very thing that was the Bain of her existence in this new house. For Rosa was a dreadfully light sleeper and absurdly tired almost all of the time. Such was the recipe that caused her body to fall into a deep sleep but not her brain, she wasn't sure if it was called lucid dreaming or astral projection or sleep paralysis but she'd experienced various forms of it for over a decade now. It was always different but some similarities remained. On this occasion she felt as if she was spinning weightlessly above her body, as if lying on a merry go round she could sense rather than see the layout of the bedroom and she felt light as a feather and giddy from spinning, she slowly came to a stop facing the foot of the bed and sensing no danger or pain in this place but had an eerie feeling of caution as though she were being watched yet by friend or for she still didn't know. She decided to try to go... somewhere... she wasn't sure where she knew she felt good and this was a rare opportunity. She floated effortlessly above the overstuffed recliner that was positioned next to the bed and could see her faithful dog Bull raise his head as if he was surprised to see her there "He can see me!" She said and couldnt help let out a chuckle this tickled her so. She stretched her hand out to reach the top of the chair to have something to push off of and attempted to cross the threshold step up into the kitchen. She could physically hear everything in the living room as the boys had settled back down to a game session after a quick snack break. The bathroom door slid open, it was a pocket door that noisily slid in and out of the wall that seperated the tiny bathroom from the tiny kitchen and tiny dining area. She heard her husband's heavy size 12's seemingly stomping back to the kitchen table where a tiny gas heater on the wall close by kept him warm. Every sound in this tiny house seemed amplified. She knew she was sleeping and yet not and would not be able to move her body or actually make any sound.
