“Moment of Peace”

Levi Ackerman x Reader

"Hey... Levi..." Levi looked up from his paperwork, "What is it?" You fidgeted with your hands whole stuttering over your words. "Well... Umm... There's something... Something I umm... I..." "(Y/N)..." his voice was a bit stern when he said your name which made you stop saying what you wanted. "I... Never mind... It's stupid..." You felt defeated and began to walk out until you heard a chair move and Levi turning you around to face him. "What are you trying to say?" You shifted your gaze away. "It's silly-" Levi moved a hand under your chin and directed your attention back to him, making full eye contact. You took a deep breath and went on to what you're saying.

"Well..." You swallowed the lump in your throat, "There's something I've been wanting to try for a while..." "What is it?" "...Have you ever danced with anyone... "No..." Your stomach was full of butterflies and you felt your whole body heat up. "Umm... I... Did you want to..." Your voice barely came out saying that. The look on his face didn't change. It was just his usual expression, so his answer could be anything. But you're sure he'll say no. You were on the brink of crying from embarrassment.

Before you tried to pull away, Levi closed the small gap between the both of you, holding one of your hands and having an arm wrapped around your waist to keep you close. He began to sway back and forth, never looking away from you.

Holy fucking shit...

This man’s going to be the death of you...

You didn't know how to feel right now. Yes, wanted this, but you're not happy and normally you would be. Anything Levi agrees to do with you makes you happy.

It felt like all time stopped just for the both of you to share this moment. You put your free hand on his shoulder and laid the side of your head on his chest, on the wings of freedom of his uniform, over his heart. Levi nuzzled the top of your head and gave it a small kiss. With Levi being a man with inhuman strength, showing little to no emotions, no one would expect him to be so gentle...

Or have a girlfriend...

You let out a content sigh and closed your eyes. Levi’s heart slowly beat in your ear while yours was going a thousand miles a minute. You took in his scent of cologne and black tea. There was a hint of your perfume too, which you’re hoping he doesn’t notice.

A few more minutes passed. Levi slowly let go of your hand and moved his hand to your cheek. Without thinking, you moved your arms around his neck and you muttered, “I love you.” Levi slowly stopped moving and he lifted his head up while his hand slid under your chin. Levi tilted your head up to look at him. As usual, his facial expression remained the same while you’re probably a blushing mess. For a quick second, he flashed you with a smile and went to kiss you. He kept you in his arms while he pulled his lips away. You laid your head back on his chest and hugged him back. “...Thank you, Levi...” Levi’s chest vibrated as he let out a hum as a response. He held you for a few more seconds, again his heart beat being the only noise.

Levi let you go and gave a soft kiss on your forehead. He went back over to his desk, but leaned on it instead of sitting down. He crossed his arms and looked at you. Since he was a bit far, you got closer. When you did, he asked a question right out of the blue. “Have you been spraying my clothes with your perfume?” Your eyes shifted back and forth and gripped the hem of your shirt, “Ooo, ummm...” “Yes?” You hunched over and rubbed the back of your neck. “Yeah...” “Why?” “Well... I’ve heard other girls from the Scouts... Talk... Or I just see them staring at you as if they... Want you?” He sighed, “You should know better than that...Usually women would be shitting themselves while running away... Your sister is the only one that talks to me...” You pursed your lips, “Yeah, you’re right...” You shuffled over to Levi and gave him the hurt puppy look before pressing your forehead on his chest. “I’m sorry...” He sighed and awkwardly hugged you. “Just stop doing it... I’ve been getting followed by bees all day...”

Levi x Reader

Chapter 1: “Captain’s Orders”

Levi looked out his window with a cup of tea. He saw a couple hands grab the windowsill and you pulling yourself up. "Hey!" He just looked down at you as climbed through the window. He moved over so you can get through. You struggled to throw your leg over. "Ghaah... Why is this ODM gear so heavy..." After a few seconds of struggling, you got your leg over and the weight of your gear literally threw you in with a loud thud when you hit the floor.

That's definitely not going to attract attention.

There was yelling, coming from the younger Scouts, from the room under. "Oh shit! It's the rat!" You sat up and undid the straps for your gear. "Are you trying to wake the whole place up?" "Very funny." "Why did you come through the window anyways? Hanji would've let you in..." You stood up when you were free from your equipment. "She's busy... At least that's what they said..." You sat back on the windowsill. "Who told you that?" "A couple of the new kids... I forget their names..." Levi gave you a cup with some tea in it. "Thanks..." The liquid inside warmed your cold hands. You held it as you kept talking. "They wouldn't let me in... I even used the "I have an important message from Pixis to so and so..." But they said, "No one can be bothered right now..." So, that's what brought me to the window..." He took a sip of tea and leaned against the wall, looking out the window. "What's wrong? You're quiet..." "Its nothing..." You looked down for a second, then back at him. "Does it have to do with earlier? When you guys came back? I heard it went horrible out there..."

“...”

"Levi?"

"Petra's father was asking for her... I couldn't bring myself to say it... No one said a word when we came back..." You remember watching the whole thing play out when the Scouts returned. "She was a good kid... They all were..." "I'm sorry about them... I know how close you were with them..." He looked down with the cup near his lips. "This is why I made you enlist in the Garrison Regiment..."

From your cadet training, you never made top of your class, so you couldn't work with the Military Police, not that you wanted to do that in the first place. Your only options were Garrison or the Scout Regiments. You had a terrible argument with Levi that day. You told him over and over again you were joining the Scout Regiment. You just thought it wasn't fair. He can put his life on the line almost every day, while you just watch. Also, he saved your life over three years ago. You wanted to pay him back in some way.

"She snapped Petra's neck against a tree... Eld was bitten in half... Oulo was killed from a single blow... Before she transformed, she killed Gunther with the swords from the ODM gear..."

You didn't say anything. They said the Female Titan was tough, but you didn't think she'd be like this...

"I'm sorry..."

Levi quickly pursed his lips and went back to his normal expression. He sighed and put the cup down on the windowsill and walked over to you. He moved the hood of you cloak off your head. He took any loose hair and tucked it behind your ears. Levi held your cheeks and looked into your eyes. He propped a knee next to you and leaned in to kiss you. You slowly closed your eyes and wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him closer, deepening the kiss.

Levi lowered his head to press his forehead on yours and his hands moved to your waist. He just held you for what felt like not even a minute until there was yelling in the halls.

"We're gonna get it this time!" Levi looked the the door, then back at you. He took a step back and walked to the door. "Excuse me..." He stepped over the ODM gear you left on the floor and gave you a look as he pointed at it. "I'm not going to tell you..." "Right, sorry..." You sighed and went to pick up your gear. You forgot you left it there. You're in the habit of dropping it wherever after a long day. With Levi being a clean freak, he's on your ass about anything messy. You picked up the gear and neatly placed it to the side. While you did, you heard a few voices outside.

"Captain, have you seen the rat?! We heard it coming from here!" "There's no rat... Just stop screaming..." "Then what was the noise?" "Storage..." They sounded disappointed to hear that. Then there was a crash coming from upstairs and they got excited again. They started screaming again and ran upstairs to the storage room.

The door opened and Levi slipped back in. "Guess there actually is a rat..." "I thought they were talking about me..." "Yes, but they thought it was an actual rat..." You were quiet for a couple seconds. "Wait a minute?!" "Keep your voice down-" "Are you calling me a rat?" "Maybe..." You stood up and went up to him. With a poor attempt to punch him, he stepped to the side and tripped over your feet. He grabbed your shoulder and kept you up. Levi pulled you close and kissed your forehead. You puffed your cheeks, "Cold bastard..." "And you're a squirrel..." That wasn't as insulting as a rat. But he doesn't mean it. You stepped on his feet to meet with his face, but quickly stepped off because he winced in some pain. "I'm sorry... Did you get hurt?" "It's nothing... Someone went into a rage over Eren and nearly got herself killed..." "Is that the girl who follows that chihuahua everywhere?" "Chihuahua?" "Eren, I mean... Hannes talks to me a lot about him, he told me Eren's like one..." "Hmm... I've never heard that one before..." He pulled you close again, but he picked you up and brought you over to his bed. "You shouldn't be doing stuff like this, let alone be on that leg..." Levi gently laid you down and joined, with an arm lazily wrapped around your waist.

He mumbled to you, "Tomorrow, stay on the wall..." "Why?" "It's an order..." "You're not my captain..." "Do you wanna die?" "Okay, I'll do it... But could you at least explain to me why?" "No..." "Then how would-" Levi just covered your eyes with his hand. "Okay..." After a few seconds, he got up and you heard him walking to a different part of the room. You opened your eyes and watch him close the windows and put out the lanterns lighting up the room, leaving the moonlight shining through the glass of the windows. Levi returned to you and laid back down. He kissed your forehead and rested his arm around you.

Your eyelids got heavy from Levi gently caressing your cheek with his thumb. He stood awake until he was sure you're sleeping. As soon as he closed his eyes, he was out.

There was soft knocking at the door that woke Levi up. He opened his eyes, but didn't respond. When there was knocking again, he sat up. Levi looked down where you were still sleeping. He brushed the back of his fingers across your cheek and got up. He opened the door to see it was only Hanji.

"Hey, did my sister stop by?" Levi nodded, "She's still here..." He gestured to you still sleeping on his bed. Hanji looked at you while she asked him, "How's your leg?" "Fine... But I can't help you tomorrow..." She nodded, "Did you tell her about today?" "A little... I also told her to stay on the wall tomorrow... Until we capture Annie at least..." "You don't think she'd help?" "She'd get killed... You saw what Annie did to my squad..." "You said that last time she mentioned transferring to us... And she did great in Trost..." Levi didn't say anything. "I understand why you don't want (Y/N) joining us... But... You can't make that kind of decision for her... She's not weak y'know..." "I wasn't saying that... Just drop it, we let it go a long time ago... I don't want to bring it up again..." She sighed, "Okay..." "Go to bed..." Hanji looked at you one more time and left to her room.

Levi watched your sister walk off and he went back in his room. He quietly closed the door and went back to his bed. To him, you were still sleeping. Your cloak covered most of your body, the Garrison insignia facing up. Levi slowly sat down without looking away from you.

What if that was you out there? One of the many soldier that got massacred? One of the many soldier who die everyday? Isabel and Farlan crept into his mind. Two people he cared deeply about, brutally killed in combat. Every one of Levi's comrades meant a lot to him.

"It's not fair, Levi-" "I don't care if it is... Your only option is the Garrison... It's very easy to get killed in the Scouts... If you made the top, I'd have you join the MP..." You bit your lower lip and winced. You looked at him, "Are you saying I'm weak or useless?" "No, I never said anything like th-" "Then what was it?!" "You're not joining the Scout Regiment... It doesn't matter how well you can fight... I can't keep an eye on you the whole time-" "Because I wouldn't need it." "Do you even hear yourself? Don't act like you've been out there, fighting those things." "What about two years ago?!" "You weren't going to win that. You would've died without help. And that Titan wasn't even the big ones." "You... I... But...It's okay for you to go out there?" Levi grabbed your shoulders and looked you dead in the eyes.

"Listen."

There was venom in his voice. You tensed up.

"Do you want to be found with you limbs ripped off? You're fucking head missing? Just an arm left behind? A leg?" "Levi-" "You can get fucking mauled to the point we can't recognize you! Do you want to end up like that?!" You shook your head. Tears were welling up in your eyes. "Do you want to see that?!" You shook your head and snapped back at him, "I get it, dammit! I fucking get it!" Your voice quivered and tears fell down your cheeks.

You sat down and buried your face in your lap. He heard the shakiness in your breathing. He took a deep breath and knelt down. "It's the truth, (Y/N)..." His voice quickly went back to his usual, monotone self. Levi touched your back, but not for long. You wouldn't accept his touch. You just slapped his hand away. He looked away. "Alright... I'll leave you alone..." without a word, you got up and walked out.

"LEVI ACKERMAN!! OWWWW!!" There was a loud bang on his office door and a thud on the floor. He sighed and got up to open the door. Hanji was sitting on the floor while grabbing her leg. "Shitshitshitshitshit, that hurt..." "What're you doing?" Her head snapped up and jumped back to her feet. She slapped Levi in the face and grabbed the collar of his shirt. "YOU MADE MY SISTER CRY!! WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO?!" "It was just an argument..." "Well it must've been one hell of an argument to make her upset!" "Hanji... She wanted to join our Regiment, but you know how dangerous it is... Even as a field medic... She'd have same amount of risk as we do of getting killed... If she's in the Garrison Regiment, that risk is smaller... And I don't think you'd want to see your sister dead out there..." "I don't... I can talk to her if you're still-" "I'll do it... I have to anyways..." Levi walked by Hanji and went to find you.

You sat on the windowsill with your legs hanging down the side. A quiet knock got your attention. You looked back to see Levi quietly opening the door. You looked away without saying anything. His footsteps approached you in his normal pace.

You felt Levi lay his hand on your back, "(Y/N)..." He sat next to you. There was silence until he let out a sigh and began to rub your back. You leaned on Levi and his arm wrapped around you while his thumb caressed your shoulder. You closed your eyes, "I'm sorry, Levi... About earlier..." "It's fine... But do you understand where I'm coming from about the Scouts?" You nodded, "Hanji told me the same thing..." "Your sister and I have seen too much out there. Too much you can't unsee... Too many people died out there. Even Farlan and Isabel. The last thing I want is you ending up on the list." You nodded. "Also... If I yell at you like that again... Feel free to punch me in the face... You can even do it now..." You looked at Levi where he kept his usual expression. You shook your head and laid back on his shoulder. "No... I'm all set... I was just being an idiot..." "No... You're just crazy..." You smiled, letting out a small laugh. "Heh, geez thanks..." "Well, now you know you're not an idiot..." "Y'know what? Maybe I'll take the offer to punch you..."

Levi heard you shuffle around. He looked over as you sat up and rubbed your eyes. You opened your eyes and looked at Levi. "What're you doing up..." He saw you messy hair and tried to fix it. "Hanji just stopped by to talk about tomorrow..." You took your cloak off and put it to the side. "...Oh..." You yawned, "...Okay..." You laid back down and closed your eyes. Levi did the same, but he never went back to sleep. Due to his insomnia, Levi has a strange sleeping schedule. Most of the time, he only gets 2-3 hours of sleep. It's shocking, even with the stamina he has. He says it runs in his family or something. He just stayed up the whole night.

You woke up as the sun was rising over the horizon. Fresh air filled up the whole room from the open windows. There was also hot tea in the room, which definitely meant Levi was awake. Slowly, you sat up and looked over at the window, where Levi was sitting, drinking his tea. He looked at you for a second, but didn't say anything. He just took a sip from his cup and looked out the window. You got up and shuffled over to him. You sat on the other side of the windowsill. Levi got up and went to get you a cup. He gave it to you and went to fix your hair again.

"Did you sleep at all, Levi?" He sat back down, "A couple hours..." "You need to get that checked out... I can give you some melatonin..." "...No..." "Really? One day you're gonna go out there fall flat on your face... I've seen it happen many times..." "Are you sure they weren't drunk?" "Well... It might've been that..." He took another sip. "

So, could you tell me why I have to stay on the wall today?" "...We... Have a plan to capture the Female Titan... And we have to do it in the walls..." "Oh..." You looked at the cup on your lap. "Will you be alright?" "Probably not..." "What about civilians..." "Depends... As long as she stays as a human... And it's most likely she won't... She'll use her Titan ability the second she knows..."

"...Oh..."

Levi got up and got closer to you. His hand snuck under your chin to lift your head up. "I'll see you before I go down there..." "...Okay..." You watched him go through the drawers to grab some clothes. "Go home and shower, we have to do this as soon as possible..." "Does that mean I have to take those quick showers you do?" "Yes." "Ewww..." "Don't "ewww" me." "But they're so cold..." "It saves water..." "Okay... Mom..." "You're mouthy today..." You were in the middle of strapping on your ODM gear. He walked over and ruffled your hair and walked off to take a shower. You quickly grabbed your cloak and climbed out the windows. After closing them, you went back home.
