Here, managers divulge crucial information ranging from VIP arrivals to special guest needs. Oh, and let's not forget about targets—yes, even front desk agents have them. From upselling goals to hitting key performance indicators (KPIs), there's always a benchmark to strive for. And those guest surveys? They're more than just feedback; they can spell out rewards or repercussions based on our performance.
Once the meeting wraps up, it's time to gear up for the real action. Armed with notepads and pens, we jump into the bustling scene. Picture this: a queue stretching out before you, the clock ticking away, and yet to log in. It's all hands on deck, especially during high-profile events like TIFF, Caribana, or Blue Jays Game. With a suite of tools at our disposal—from Opera to Colleague Advantage, HotSos to Zingle—we ensure each guest's needs are met seamlessly. And let's not overlook the meticulous checklists awaiting completion before the shift ends.
Contrary to popular belief, the role of a front desk agent extends far beyond mere check-ins and check-outs. We're the unsung orchestrators behind the scenes, meticulously preparing for each guest's arrival. Ever wondered how we know a guest's preferences down to their preferred bed size? It's because we meticulously pore over every request, ensuring a personalized experience like Santa Claus himself, checking lists twice before guests even arrive.
