I think my favorite thing about the-sharing-official is the idea that some yeerk hosts are tapped to fight the andalite bandits and others are just. arguing with tech support because their hosting went down.
“Ok I know we say we’re not a cult all the time but I mean. Are we a cult?” “We are an invading alien species I am pretty sure that’s not what a cult is.” “Yeah but I’m looking at the wikipedia definition of cult and-” “For the last time you’re not allowed on wikipedia!”

people say the animorphs covers are *creepy* but the actual in book transformations are all like ‘then her face cracked in two, her organs melted, her bones all snapped and reformed backwards, and her fingers and toes fused together. she couldnt cry because her tear ducts didnt fucking exist anymore. everyone looked at the ground so they wouldnt throw up looking at this’

What do Controllers do all day?
I was talking to @vickie-believe about her fan fiction and this came up.
They need so many people to run the invasion, handle The Sharing schedule. Someone has to be managing the hosts’ needs. Taxxons would require tons of meat daily, and there’d have to be a truck service that buys up butcher shop offal and delivers it places. Not a fun job. Same with Hork-Bajir, someone has to coordinate deliveries of raw timber, and whatever other vegetation that they eat. There’s the constant cycling of water and air to and from the orbiting ships. The Bug Fighters need to be stocked, charged, and numbered. Lost ships need to be accounted for. And of course, if human hosts are needed for the war effort, a huge number of humans must be shuttled to far-distant planets. Somewhere, possibly on the Anati planet, human-Controllers were fighting the Andalites. Somewhere, there were manufacturing sectors building Bug Fighters, making human interfaces to replace the Taxxon interfaces. There had to have been dozens upon dozens of Yeerk safehouses, and Controllers that needed to infiltrate the police, the utility companies, property inspectors, obviously they used the schools to get to parents, there would be a significant effort to infest the military and anyone that had access to radar. Throughout the whole series, I still have no idea what Tom did for three years.

speaking of animorphs: i remember reading an interview by K.A. Applegate and she mentioned something like she wrote the ending how it was bc she didn’t want to be unrealistic about the horrors of war she didn’t want to gloss over it
like!!! fair enough but oh my god i was ten years old when i finished it and let me tell u i didn’t much care about how realistically war was represented, i was traumatized as hell

I’m literally so tired of seeing posts that are like “oh my god wouldn’t this idea be so cool” followed by like 20 replies of people going on to write about the idea and I’m scrolling through it with dead eyes like yeah….. that’s literally animorphs

I know I said I was gonna do one panel per book, but Cassie is my favorite and The Message is my favorite book (and I’m very happy that @wtfanimorphs is recapping it right now), so it gets six.

Jake’s entire family probably just thought he was sleeping with Marco
Seriously, though. 100% of Jake’s excuses for coming home late and/or sneaking out consist of: “Marco and I were doing stuff. At his house. You know, stuff. What kind of stuff? Just stuff. And that’s why I’m coming home half-naked at three in the morning. Because I left my clothes at Marco’s. Where we were just… hanging out. Without most of our clothes. It’s a thing we do. Like, three nights a week. And that time I was missing for several days? That was just another sleepover. At Marco’s. Where I sleep a lot.”
And don’t get me started on his habit of slamming the window shut every time he’s on the computer and someone else walks into the room. I’m just picturing Temrash 114 being like, “What the hell was THAT about?” and Tom going, “Gay porn, probably. It’s a human thing.”
